Helen knows she's not cracking up - Knob is an eggomaniac.

Are we eggshausted with this storyline?

Whoa tonight has been busy! I haven't listened to tonight's episode yet, have some catching up to do!

ele if you go on I player and search woman's hour, it is today's episode. Am about to listen myself.

Great link Maizie, I need one of those kits!

lljkk · 29/03/2016 21:28

I agree with what AskBasil said about Pat & Knob....

My 1st HV had huge bee in her bonnet about domestic abuse, everyone who saw her got a huge message about that (repeatedly).

Can we just drop Knob talk? WHO STOLE the MONEY?? Who torched the henhouse?? Wink

Stickerrocks · 29/03/2016 21:28

Cut & paste this one www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b074vtgp Elephant (I can't get the link to show properly). It's on straight away. If it doesn't work, type Coercive Control and Domestic Violence on The Archers into the BBC search box and it should come up straight away. Helen has the first slot of the day.

DadDadDad · 29/03/2016 21:29

AskBasil - I think you are right that is what the SW are aiming for with Pat. Helen is a spiky character and Pat has at the back of her mind that if she questions Helen too much it will drive Helen away. But I think others are right to suggest they've done it a bit clunkily.

When Rob asked "who were you on the phone to?" Helen said "oh, a robot" and if it were a sitcom he would have replied, "that's a coincidence, I've just been talking to your mum too!" Grin

recyclingbag · 29/03/2016 21:31

Surely it's George who stole the money.

Alf wouldn't be that stupid surely.

I'm going to see Lear at the RSC in September.

I shall have to stop myself heckling.

plimsolls · 29/03/2016 21:32

lljkk I reckon George for the money and Freddie for the arson.

Stickerrocks · 29/03/2016 21:33

lljkk It's so obviously either the Button Twins or Jean Harvey for both that it goes without saying. My money is currently on Jean Harvey for the curtain fund, because she's been seriously snubbed by Linda and would want her to suffer.

Stickerrocks · 29/03/2016 21:38

3D How many posts do we need in to get us up to the magic 50k? Page numbers have been moving up rapidly here tonight and I fear Pseudo may need to start asking for suggestions for no. 51 if it continues at this rate.

PseudoBadger · 29/03/2016 21:39

Maybe Anneka has a hefty tax bill?

Wolpertinger and elendon - you are both partially right about NOK. NOK has no general meaning in law, medical or otherwise. And Wolpertinger is correct that any adult/young adult with capacity has the right to medical information being kept private. However elendon is correct that there is a medical context where NOK have certain rights - when their relatives are subject to the Mental Health Act.

The MHA doesn't apply to tonight's blabby midwife though - that was a straight breach of the Data Protection Act - bad midwife Shock

Minimammoth · 29/03/2016 21:40

I think George but possibly with an innocent reason.

Stickerrocks · 29/03/2016 21:41

That should say how many more posts do we need from this point to get us up to the magic 50k. Obviously, as an accountant, I know that we need 50,000 posts to get us up to 50k, but I can't remember if we were given a running total when we started the 50th thread. I've got a little frazzled this evening.

Minimammoth · 29/03/2016 21:42

But who rustled Eds cows. Way back, they just went like pfoof. No follow up.

PseudoBadger · 29/03/2016 21:43

Oh yes! Does Harrison actually do any policing?!

I don't find PatBot convincing. Helen was to Borsetshire Blue what Tom was/is to sausages but Helen hasn't done anything cheese-related in months. Hasn't even delegated it to someone else. She has stopped driving for no reason. She spends her entire life 'resting'. She hardly visits her family who live just a few miles away; and v.v. Whenever she does put in an appearance she is miserable. Pat'n'Tone never see Henwee any more. The paternal grandmother was allowed to live in the house for over a month yet the maternal grandmother isn't allowed anywhere near. Rob jacked in his job, has deposed Helen and now seems in charge in the shop ... and no-one has said a thing.
You'd think that Sunday might have been an eye-opener. Henwee lived his formative years at Bridge Farm. He has the Sausage King for an uncle. And yet he had to screw up his courage to pet a piglet.Shock That's not normal farming-family behaviour! Peggy seemed to be the only one to spot Something Not Right but voiced it wrong so no-one picked up on it.

recyclingbag · 29/03/2016 21:46

I've just listened again.

The phone rings three times and then rob answers. At first it seems as if noone's there.

He says 'hello Helen's phone' and then 'hello who's there please'

It's possible that the call had already gone to voicemail and the midwife had left Helen a message. There's no way Rob would tell Helen he'd listened to her messages.

JeanPadget · 29/03/2016 21:47

Recycling I don't know that David Troughton is Gloucester, but he's definitely in the cast list so it seems the obvious conclusion. Too old for Kent, I would have thought, and Gloucester and Tony are both such old women IYSWIM. I'm sure he'll be good; I saw him in Henry IV (1) when DD was a baby, and he was fab.

recyclingbag · 29/03/2016 21:49

I also saw him in Inherit The Wind at the Old Vic.

Stickerrocks · 29/03/2016 21:49

Harrison is too busy taste testing and helping Fallon move boxes around at the tearooms. Which reminds me that I meant to watch Bake Off Crème de la Crème this evening, but got caught up in all the excitement around here. How long before Fallon starts making choux swans?

"challenging and feisty"

Really? Is that how you see your posts Elendon?

Because I see them as tedious, lecturing and hectoring.

DadDadDad · 29/03/2016 21:55

Don't panic, the 50,000th post won't be on this thread. Remember, we average about 970 posts per thread, so thread 52 will see the magic moment. My spreadsheet will tell us exactly.

A month or so ago I was predicting the 50000th post would be close to the GADD and SODOFF* in late May, but posts have rocketed and it's going to be more like 15 April or DDDWA^

Thanks Sticker I have listened and I am very pleased that DB has also.

PseudoBadger · 29/03/2016 21:59

Can anyone tell me if Sterling Gold was still being made until Helen got wheylaid Wink and if so, does Oliver still have anything to do with it?

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/03/2016 22:02

Anyway... wouldn't put it past Knob to have nicked the money - there can't be much left from Piggoi's £10,000 now.

And interesting that he was planning to whisk Hellin off to London to see a show when only a few das ago he didn't think she was fit enough to sit through Lynda's pageant.
