Also yes - swelling of feet or ankles can be a sign of pre-eclampsia. Family history of it here - if anyone tried to pressure me into a home birth I'd feel like it was pretty much equivalent to "I want you dead or don't care if you die."

Re the kankles Rob said it in the context of she takes up the entire bed with her big belly and her fat ankles as in I don't fancy her and she is massive. So the 'fat ankles' might well be Rob bringing up familiar pregnant woman tropes rather than a description of a symptom.
