Not long until our thread's 3 year birthday!

OP posts:

Since we're all comparing notes, I had an emergency CS when my daughter was born (nearly 24 years ago, so ancient history now) because when I went into labour it was discovered that she was (a) breech and in a particularly difficult presentation and (b) very big (9lbs 2ozs).

My son was a vb 19 months later. He was induced (yes! read some of the posts above with my heart in my mouth) because I had oligohydramnios (look it up) and there was concern that the placenta might be about to fail.

All in hospital. I know lots of people who had home births and thought they were great and others who had wanted a home birth and were disappointed not to get one. I, however, am the most risk averse person on the planet and would have worried about being so far from the operating theatre, should one be needed. I also agreed with a woman I knew when my children were little who said to me once 'Who would want to do THAT in their home?' Grin

mummytime · 25/02/2016 19:03

I had two vbacs - and both arrived the day before I was due to discuss "what we do now the baby is so overdue" with the consultant.
One was very very nearly a home birth, by accident.

Bimblepops · 25/02/2016 19:04

Oh my god - it's Tony!

Shallishanti · 25/02/2016 19:06

PLEASE start joining the dots you two

sunnydayinmay · 25/02/2016 19:07

Blaming Helen now for upsetting Henwee. Not good.Sad

sunnydayinmay · 25/02/2016 19:08

I think Knob sounds tired (well, the actor).

Gruach · 25/02/2016 19:08

Is he angling to get Henry exiled to BF?

Shallishanti · 25/02/2016 19:09

an exiled Henry would be a good informant

WipsGlitter · 25/02/2016 19:10

Exiled to boarding school...

Stickerrocks · 25/02/2016 19:11

Come on Pat. Tell Helen that it's not her memory.

Shallishanti · 25/02/2016 19:11

yes!
no she didn't bloody tell you!

Gruach · 25/02/2016 19:12

Isn't he 5 Wips?

Shallishanti · 25/02/2016 19:12

you want xyz DON'T YOU

Stickerrocks · 25/02/2016 19:13

Please don't let Knob be the one to raise a toast to John.

Gherkinsmummy · 25/02/2016 19:14

I hate Rob. That is all.

Shallishanti · 25/02/2016 19:14

ah, well done Johnny

BYOSnowman · 25/02/2016 19:15

Ok. Do I want to know what happened?

Stickerrocks · 25/02/2016 19:17

Nothing & everything BYOS. A few more pieces of the jigsaw puzzle are starting to come together and Tom's dislike of Knob is becoming more apparent.

BYOSnowman · 25/02/2016 19:19

Oh well that's promising

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/02/2016 19:23

The way Helen spoke there when she was telling Pat that she really did want a home birth - absolutely chilling. Rob saying to Pat 'this is what Helen thinks' - Helen repeating it like a child trying not to get into trouble for forgetting her lesson. Sad

And as for the assertion that Ursula is an expert on childbirth! Laughable, surely? This must be the straw that breaks open the Patbot casing, allowing the real Pat to step out and start the fight back. Please.

Imbroglio · 25/02/2016 19:25

Crucially, Tom made Rob stay behind while he went to look after Helen. Go Tom!

Stickerrocks · 25/02/2016 19:25

Patbot still can't see the wood for the trees and thinks that Helen is being flaky by not returning Kirsty's calls and getting upset with Henry. Rob is implying that Helen's mood swings are making him wet the bed.

Meanwhile Tom is squaring up for Scotch Egg wars. I wonder if the black pudding ones or Clarrie's will give the hardest thump if he has to resort to using them as ammunition.

GypsyFl0ss · 25/02/2016 19:26

Come on Pat and Tom, time to get talking properly to Kirsty

Loved the toast to John. I've written before about my great uncle John dying in the same way , leaving a tribe of kids and making my grandad the head of the family when he was born to the angsty middle child like Helen.

Stickerrocks · 25/02/2016 19:26

Obviously that's Henry wetting the bed, not Rob, as that would imply weakness.

bigbuttons · 25/02/2016 19:30

finestgrundy howSad for you, really.

What's odd about the concept of full term is that is varies from country to country. My Hungarian friend said over there it is 37 weeks, yet in France I believe it is 41 weeks.Confused
