I thought Mary cutler was good but she's been piss poor this week

I think they need to burn the next 5 weeks tapes and start again

enochroot · 19/02/2016 19:36

You mean like Scruff?

HaHa. At least Matt's body hasn't turned up in the silage. Mind you, that would explain the musty smell.

As opposed to the strong fishy smell at Blossom Hill Cottage. They really ought to take the ever fragrant Ursula round to meet Peggy. It takes one to know one.

GypsyFl0ss · 19/02/2016 19:38

I feel really bloody cross about this. All the work that Refuge, Safer places, health professionals, the police etc do about raising the profile of DV/DA and supporting women and men to report abuse and get out of those relationships. This is just making a fucking mockery of it all. So much for the BBC's educational remit, they're failing big time now.

BYOSnowman · 19/02/2016 19:39

The elation I felt at the soc news is totally gone after that. Boo

So what was the consensus on feedback? I didn't get to listen

Gruach · 19/02/2016 19:40

I'm clutching at the possibility that it's a bluff - that Ursula was mocking Rob by quoting his words to him.

But I'm not sure that's what I heard.

Why have they done this?

KingscoteStaff · 19/02/2016 19:51

Who wrote this week's rubbish? Send them off to Eastenders too, I say.

AdventuresOfADentist · 19/02/2016 20:03

They keep saying they're getting advice from professionals on the storyline to make it realistic, but that must have stopped now. Was it just at the beginning, as guidance? Surely there's no way they'd go "yeah so we're going in this direction with an evil MIL too" and Refuge would say "yes, yes that's great"?!?

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 19/02/2016 20:04

Even if it were gruach its not it isn't consistent with the past.
It is vaguely plausible that Rob phones his mother with whom.he has a difficult/cold rs to crow about MySon and this lead to a thawing. It is not plausible that he has been speakinf to her so often that she is abreast with who is in the christmas show. It was ckear when it was Jess who told Knob that his mum had been in touch about Ethan that they were not in regular contact at that point.

SealSong · 19/02/2016 20:08

Lol @ Matt's body turning up in the silage

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 19/02/2016 20:08

What a load a shiiiite

More skill/thought goes into these thread titles than ta storylines at the mo. I think you lot should stage an intervention and do it yourselves

GypsyFl0ss · 19/02/2016 20:08

Exactly! I've seen plenty of collusion and down-playing of the seriousness of what's happening by family members, in much the same way as Helen herself minimises what is happening. But this is just crap.

Why couldn't they just have had Helen disclose a little to her midwife or HV doing an antenatal visit and it to go from there? It could have been a text book scenario with huge educational potential and they could even have thrown in Jess being the assessment team social worker if they wanted a bit of excitement.

BYOSnowman · 19/02/2016 20:12

And is it realistic that Helen would be so much back to her old self after having Kirsty round for half an hour? And why was Kirsty blathering on about Roy and not picking up on Helens comments to probe deeper.

GypsyFl0ss · 19/02/2016 20:14

I wonder who the secret Valentine card sender is?

northender · 19/02/2016 20:19

Just delurking to say what a let down that was. I felt as if I was listening to a pantomime, not a drama with a serious storyline. My mum has found it quite a difficult listen at times due to her experience of low level EA. I think that resonance may have worn off now

Shallishanti · 19/02/2016 20:27

that was just wierd
there I was really thinking she was OK...and then Shock

Helenluvsrob · 19/02/2016 20:34

That's was utter creepy rubbish !

I hunk the valentines are Crappy fair brother stirring everything up stunt b

GypsyFl0ss · 19/02/2016 20:38

I hunk ...is that you Toby? Grin

Hadron21 · 19/02/2016 20:44

If you asked a 6th former to write an episode of Tales of the Unexpected, this is what you would get.

De-lurked to post.

redshoeblueshoe · 19/02/2016 20:48

Pile O'Shite.
My vote for card sender was Rob

redshoeblueshoe · 19/02/2016 20:53

Maybe SOC actually stands for Scores Of Crap, or Scripts Of Crap

GypsyFl0ss · 19/02/2016 20:58

My money is on Knob sending the cards too.

BYOSnowman · 19/02/2016 20:59

I'm predicting a ridiculous murder sl now (of knob with a 'who dun it' season)

Soc clearly hasn't edited this weeks scripts so hasn't been doing much lately

AnnieNoMouse · 19/02/2016 21:00

Also the whole Valentine's stuff is being completely overdone. First Bert and Jill and Peggy going on about how they missed not having their partners to send cards to; then seemingly the whole village receiving or sending cards or watching Brief Encounter; (or in Phoebe's case, not, apparently) - who gives a stuff?
If they hadn't announced SOC was going this week there'd be hoards of listeners baying for his blood right now. What a stupid plot development. (Grace Poole, not Valentine's)

BYOSnowman · 19/02/2016 21:01

I can see the trailers now

Adam 'I didn't know he told Ian about my fling and then he sent an anonymous card at valentines to stir it up'

Helen 'he made my life a misery and almost killed me'

Henry 'he wos a mean man who made my mummy cwy'

Pat 'he was so lovely. I can't understand why someone would have done that'

redshoeblueshoe · 19/02/2016 21:12

BYOS - genius Grin
