De- lurking again- back to Ursula- I'm in the master manipulator camp.

I told you so! It's not unbelievable, maybe clumsily done but I saw it a mile off. I have been in Helen's shoes and exactly that happened to me.

Even that cooing sugary voice is the same. I thought she was on my side - until I caught her looking at me with utter hatred. Sounds far- fetched but it's true.

I was de-lurking to echo the farce/pantomime thoughts already expressed here, but was surprised to read Words posts. I now just feel foolish to find the scenario unbelievable, so have to accept that it could happen as portrayed.

However, the previous portrayals of the Titchy backstory doesn't make sense, so still unrealistic in that regard.

I just wish that Knob is a knob because he is, not because it's the fault of his mother or any other woman.

Poor little menz. They have no control over how they behave. It's all mummy's fault for telling him what to do. And all Helens fault he raped her because how is he supposed to control himself.

Once you are an adult you are responsible for your own behaviour and at no point can you ever blame your parent for the way you have treated someone else.

And it's inconsistent with the back story.

It's a delaying tactic. The scriptwriters don't know where they're going with this and the editor isn't doing his job. He hasn't been doing it for a while because he's had his eyes on a different prize.

I'm sure the cards are from Fairbrethran after his terrible attempt to chat up Kirsty before. Toby?

Oh dear, IMO the SL is being ramped up a gear by involving the witch Urs. Though like Words I also have seen that an abusive mother can be influential in the cycle of abuse . So can children going into bad 'care', unfeeling educators, abusive fathers etc.

Yes. But in a drama- particularly a drama where the emotional abuse story line has been so widely discussed, only a misogynist arsehole of an editor would decide put the blame for a man's abuse on a woman.

It's pretty obvious to me that SOC's agenda has been to milk this SL for all it's worth because it's attracting lots of attention, getting his name out there and so he can get a plum job off the back of it.

Now they're stuck with it even though it's going past its sell-by date and don't know what the new editor will want to do so it's now a holding operation. There are several ways it could go but no one is sure which to take. Meanwhile it becomes less and less credible.
