Never mind the yoghurt - who is making the Sterling Gold?!

Many thanks for new thread.

I found myself having visions of Helen suddenly flipping and stabbing Knob with a kitchen knife last night. Wishful thinking, clearly, but she is definitely starting to get quite tetchy with him and his attempts to stuff buttery, sugary stuff down her throat. One can but hope…..

BYOSnowman · 13/02/2016 17:23

Asked dd (5.5) what obedient meant and she thought for a minute and said 'really naughty?'

Scarydinosaurs · 13/02/2016 17:30

Ugh Rob was even more horrid in that episode. I can't take the Henry stuff. So do we think it's going to be a 'corporal punishment' element to his abuse?

The Eddie wheedling is painful. He needs to back off. I feel so sorry for Ed.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 13/02/2016 17:42

Eddie often pisses me off. If anything he is less relentlessly wheeler dealer than he used to be.

Please, please, please sw if you are reading this (although it is probably already done and dusted) don't ket H and R end up with a stabbing or similar desperate act. Women can and do escape DV every single day. Yes the offender tends to be a pita for years to come but there are ways of dealing with that and again women can and do do that every day too.

Scarydinosaurs · 13/02/2016 17:55

Oh yes, no big violent act. I would like a sensitive ending for this SL, one that mirrors real life. I'd rather Rob didn't escalate to violence, if we're voting on outcomes. Much better to depict the emotional abuse as 'enough' to leave someone for.

WipsGlitter · 13/02/2016 17:56

Marking on the new thread!

bilbodog · 13/02/2016 18:00

Thanks for the new thread - brilliant name. Dreading Ursula arriving next week, poor hellin.......

AdventuresOfADentist · 13/02/2016 18:30

How funny toomuchtea, I just read that quote at the start of a book I read the other day unless it was on Mumsnet and I've confused the two

Eastpoint · 13/02/2016 19:06

Thank you Pseudo for the new thread. Sorry D^3 for not remembering your posts. I was so impressed by your giving up for Lent that year.

redshoeblueshoe · 13/02/2016 19:25

Thanks for the new thread, another great title.

Stickerrocks · 13/02/2016 19:48

Excellent title. Can't Clarrie & Susan make cheese and yoghurt?

MrsWembley · 13/02/2016 19:48

Still can't bear to listen. Thanks guys for continuing to keep me updated...

cheminotte · 13/02/2016 20:13

Thanks for the new thread Pseudo - I hate to ask but..
Bleak = Helrob's
Sitcom = Home farm?
Tenancy = Grundy's?
Which is Boring? David et al?
Complete mind blank on names of farms!

JessTitchener · 13/02/2016 20:25

DD2 (9) knew exactly what obedient means. DD3 (6) thought it was something to do with being "the fastest". We have now educated her in a non Titchener non sinister way.

Gruach · 13/02/2016 20:25

Bleak is Bridge Farm - which is not necessarily bleak at this moment but generally seems to attract misfortune and is in line for a heap of trouble coming from Blossom Hill cottage soon.

(It was just that with Kate moving back into Home Farm SOC has accomplished the rather splendid plan of defining the four major farming households by placing three generations of a family in each house.)

I didn't ask DS about 'obedient' as I forgot. He is a couple of weeks younger than Henry but sounds 3 years older but I think he will know as I am a dog trainer.

Love Game of Farms!

selsigfach · 13/02/2016 21:29

I've got an embarrassing confession to make... Last night I had sexy dream about Knob!! There is something seriously wrong with my subconscious.

DadDadDad · 13/02/2016 21:35

As Eastpoint noted, the last thread went very quickly, averaging 107 posts per day, much higher than the around 70 per day on the threads before that since Christmas.

In fact, out of the 44 threads so far, only one has gone faster - back in April 2014, and that was helped by 24 hours starting the evening of 23 April when there were 329 posts! I'll leave it to you to remember what happened on that day Smile.

Love or hate the RobHel story, it's got us all posting. If Helen does have a showdown with Rob, this thread will EXPLODE! (and I sense it's nearer the way we get glimpses of Helen trying to express her true feelings to Kirsty and Tom, then suppressing them)

FinestGrundyTurkey · 13/02/2016 21:41

The Bolter is Fanny's mother, in The Pursuit of Love & Love in a Cold Climate.

The love of her life quote was about Linda's Paris lover Fabrice. Linda died giving birth though which made it much more poignant. (I don't think Eddie's going to die over his bullocks but if the Grundys get booted out that would be almost as tragic)

Pseudo, I love Game of Farms, a touch of genius Grin

bagsofbats · 13/02/2016 21:57

Dd2 (5.5) thought obedient might be something to do with an octopus as they both start with o.

echt · 13/02/2016 22:01

Game of Farms made me laugh.

DH and I caught up with Friday's ep this morning (Valentine's Day) in Au. The menacing Titchener had DH asking did I understand obedience in a Valentine stylee. I told him to have choccie and behave.:o

Anyway, I found Hellin's acceptance of the imposition of Ursula entirely unconvincing. Surely anyone would have something more to say about just having another person in the house. Bleurghh.
