So what do you think she is going to do? Win everyone over and then the pair of them gang up on Helen? Insist on being at the birth and taking over the baby? This SL is going to drag on forever at this rate!

Can I join you. I avidly follow TA on Twitter and it's only just occurred to me to look for it here.

Can I throw in a random theory, if it hasn't already been discussed.

Dr Richard did Rob's paternity test and Rob was very keen to avoid him at Christmas (in case he remembered him). He obviously fiddled it somehow.

Would Richard get to know the result?

So Richard is going to remember why he knows him, say something to Shula who is also going to finally remember how vile he was about the hunt saboteur and the flood.

R4 · 16/02/2016 21:59

Have pm'd you mummytime

recyclingbag · 16/02/2016 22:01

As for Ursula, I think she is going to undermine Rob all week, he is then going to explode as soon as she leaves and blame Helen for disrespecting him.

Pat will be further convinced that the entire family is wonderful, completely forgetting about that night they didn't turn up because Rob hadn't invited them.

JessieMcJessie · 16/02/2016 22:03

I thought that the moving the ornament was a harbinger of something sinister. But that telling Kirsty that Helen was napping was because she thought it was a cold call. Though doesn't explain why U didn't just tell H to come to the phone....

Weird that Ursula's total character change has now been commented upon. Maybe she's an alcoholic and Rob has set things up so she gets wasted and puts Henry in danger....

Please God not Roy and Kirsty. Lazy lazy lazy.

BYOSnowman · 16/02/2016 22:10

Rob is not the father of Jess' child - sw have confirmed this and said the whole richard/rob scene was a fuck up as a dr would never be so indiscreet

BYOSnowman · 16/02/2016 22:11

of course roy and kirsty will end up shagging - men and women just can't live in such close proximity and not end up shagging. obviously.

Where is bernard - you may need your acronym soon!

Gruach · 16/02/2016 22:14

recycling - Re Doc Locke; not random, has been discussed. You may have missed one of Keri Davies' many clarifications of recent stories - to quote the DNA test was kosher. There was no skullduggery surrounding it, the SWs didn't intend to imply that Richard and Rob had met in any other context.

I suspect they now regret ever making Jess pregnant. Was a bit of a blind alley.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 16/02/2016 22:23

What about the sorry state of the cows at Berrow? I've never felt that was explained very thoroughly and always imagined a disgruntled Knob had something to do with it, to frame Charlie. Do we consider this storyline to be wrapped up, or might we discover something more about how the disease came to be at Berrow at a later date? I will be very disappointed if such a potentially explosive sl was just a vehicle to get Charlie out of Ambridge.

Right now I just feel there are more loose ends on TA than on...well...Loose Ends.

BYOSnowman · 16/02/2016 22:32

it's going to be like Mr Bean and the steak tartare

everything rob has ever done wrong will tumble out in quick succession

recyclingbag · 16/02/2016 22:33

Dammit!

LillianGish · 16/02/2016 22:35

I just feel there are more loose ends on TA than on...well...Loose Ends. Grin I'm slightly disconcerted by the SW (and especially KD) saying I'm sorry I haven't a clue (re anything that ever happened before even in the fairly recent past).

Pumble · 16/02/2016 22:39

Long time lurker here...

Do we know the exact due date of Helen's baby? My mum and I are sat here trying to remember/work it out and failing.

Sorry to crash straight in with a question.... Blushthank you!

R4 · 16/02/2016 22:47

Hello Pumble
On 3rd Feb our resident statistician D^3 said "According to the GADD* Helen is coming up for 25 weeks."
*Generally agreed due date

So that's 27 weeks now?
Was she supposed to have a MW appt this week.

DadDadDad · 16/02/2016 22:49

Off the top my head, I think we reckoned 19th May for Helen's due date. I've not got my spreadsheet to hand to check. She's about 26 or 27 weeks now.

Pumble · 16/02/2016 22:51

Thank you!
What is the idea with Ursula (I too can only picture her with tentacles...!). This is not playing out as I imagined her visit would.

DadDadDad · 16/02/2016 22:53

Fortunately, my ever so efficient PA, R4, is on the case. Smile

BYOSnowman · 16/02/2016 22:56

Is this the worlds longest pregnancy? Can't believe only 27 weeks in.

God this is painfully slow now. The whole sl

Pumble · 16/02/2016 23:00

She is surely not going to get to full term though? I can't believe we are going to have up to another 15 weeks of the pregnancy? If it's v premature he will have so much more ammunition to beat her with.

DadDadDad · 16/02/2016 23:01

I'm not sure about Ursula. Others on this thread are constructing these elaborate theories about what she's up to, but I think (with a certain disregard for past characterisation) the SW have decided to play her as a contrast to Rob. For example, she answers Helen's phone to Kirsty but unlike Rob positively encourages her to pop round.

It suggests that Rob is not quite the master planner in charge of everything that he thinks he is. And tonight's episode featured many of the people in Rob's circle apart from Rob himself, so I enjoyed it, especially the punchline "sorry, did you say you are Rob Titchener's mother" Grin

If you are imagining a different Ursula, then I think maybe you're just a bit tired and getting in a muddle again, like that time you thought Blossom Cottage only had two bedrooms. You do get muddled sometimes, don't you, darling?

GruntledOne · 16/02/2016 23:03

Is that GADD by time of conception? Because in practice it should be dated from the beginning of her last period so she might be around two weeks further on.

Pumble · 16/02/2016 23:07

Of course! I am so silly. How could i possibly have been picturing a different Ursula. Thank you for putting me right. I'm so glad you're here to help me....

Wink
GruntledOne · 16/02/2016 23:08

The fact that they've mentioned Ursula's change of character has to mean there is plot significance in it. The most likely explanation seems to me that she is at least partly responsible for Knob being the way he is because she has habitually undermined him in favour of Miles, but when she first visited she let up on that because he had at last managed to conceive her first grandchild. He invited her back because he thought she had repented but in fact she's now back in her old habits.

But now that Ursula and Helen are so pally, surely it should logically be a matter of time before Helen casually asks her why she didn't make it to the dinner party that wasn't.
