I wondered that too Bertrand.

Gruach · 10/01/2016 12:28

The Jenny's betrayal has been mentioned in the BBC tweets/ blog so perhaps that's a hint that it won't be forgotten.

Gruach · 10/01/2016 12:30

... The Jenny? Not what I meant to write.

ppeatfruit · 10/01/2016 13:13

Agree BOOP (about wondering why people listen to TA if it pisses them off soo much).

Gruach Grin None taken ! It's nice to be acknowledged Grin.

BYOSnowman · 10/01/2016 13:31

I listen in the hope it will return to its former pre soc self!

Also, it's nice to have something to bitch about that isn't going to hurt anyone's feelings iyswim!!

BYOSnowman · 10/01/2016 13:39

Maybe The Jenny will perform with PlanB and Kelis

FinestGrundyTurkey · 10/01/2016 13:44

Brilliant suggestion from the Ha Archers blog - \link{http://haharchers.blogspot.co.uk/\a Rob Alert tone} so that those who get the shudders when they hear him don't have to miss every episode, only the ones he menaces Helen in

(goes on to suggest alerts for other characters. Brian gets Leslie Phillips - “Well hello” or “Ding Dong!” Grin)

Minimammoth · 10/01/2016 13:55

Just caught up. I liked the more upbeat Brookfield story, great to hear R and D laughing and planning. I don't think Jenny was wingeing just reflecting on what she has left and the real decline that happens with ageing ( feel like that myself sometimes). Fingers crossed that phoebe gets to Oxford. Praying tha Helen sees a way out, soon.

BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2016 15:19

Yes a agree. JD was more wistful than whiney. I have no idea if I've spelled either of those words right

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 10/01/2016 15:24

I actuallt think TA is getting much better sonce scruff came back and they dropped all.the ludicrous we knew it wouldn't happen anyway stories.

I always though R and D were pretty even, which was why this last year grated.
I think JD was fair enough to have a wee look back. We iften do especially as parents/gps we try to hive our dc the things we missed.

It is getting to the stage where I no longer need my disbelulief suspenders reinforced.

CryHavoc · 10/01/2016 15:28

I thought the bit with Brine and Jenny Darling was really nicely done, but the stuff with David and Ruth was a bit much. All that 'Mr Archer' and 'Mrs Archer' was a bit too mushy for me, and I usually enjoy a bit of schmaltz.

enochroot · 10/01/2016 16:04

So true.

I felt JD was voicing her inner thoughts really and perhaps put into words the feelings of many. I've noticed before that the actual 40th, 50th etc birthday has no real impact on how one feels but somehow the birthday afterwards hits hard. Also seeing a grand daughter about to launch forth into a brilliant future is likely to make her wonder if she could have done things differently herself. Brian responded brilliantly well.

toldmywrath · 10/01/2016 16:24

PseudoBadger I can't wait for the guest appearances from Plan B and Usher! You beat me to the punchline! Great minds think alike..

toldmywrath · 10/01/2016 16:27

Thanks for the new thread (belated)

SmallLegs - I think I understand your latest post Grin

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/01/2016 16:30

Sorry I am on a massive catch up session. What strikes me is that Rob is so hypocritical about Adam when he was shagging Helen when he was married. He is doing an incredibly good and realistic isolation of Helen, I have been through it, and he ,use be good to get Pat on side.

Eastpoint · 10/01/2016 17:34

BoOP I've generally stopped listening. I think my current relationship with TA is similar to when you've moved away from home and your mother keeps telling you things about the neighbours - you don't hear or see them directly but you know what is going on. I am reading the thread as TA is part of my life but I am not missing listening to the actual programme. An overview is sufficient.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 10/01/2016 17:44

My hands were coldBlush

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 10/01/2016 19:05

I have never heard pamper day made to sound so menacing before.

Stickerrocks · 10/01/2016 19:10

Come on Kirsty, keep talking to her. Let's hear the penny drop.

Stickerrocks · 10/01/2016 19:11

Bloody mobile phones! So close.

enochroot · 10/01/2016 19:13

Henry's going to heave a grazed knee any minute now.

TopOfTheCliff · 10/01/2016 19:13

No she stood up to him! Just a tiny step

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 10/01/2016 19:14

I love Kirsty

NorthernLurker · 10/01/2016 19:14

Kirsty is pretty sharp - she's going to put the weight loss and Helen's other behaviour together and talk to Pat I think. Pat may be sucked in by Rob but Helen's anorexia was terrifying for her. She won't let that lie. (I hope)

NorthernLurker · 10/01/2016 19:15

Helen's been out the whole day. He's going to make her pay for that I fear. Kirsty has the measure of the situation I think.
