She has sussed it out! Good for Kirsty

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 10/01/2016 19:15

Oh Helen Sad why can't she tell her ??

Gruach · 10/01/2016 19:15

I love Kirsty too.

That whisper means RESCUE.

Stickerrocks · 10/01/2016 19:17

He really is sowing seeds left, right & centre (....barely your friend anymore). Please Helen, start to question why nobody wants to be your friend anymore. Hopefully if Kirsty has worked on a Sunday she can have regular time off during the week when Rob is job sharing to pop round for a probing chat with Helen.

TopOfTheCliff · 10/01/2016 19:18

It's hard to know if Helen has consciously understood what is happening to her yet. She may just be thinking she is going crazy when she has such a wonderful man caring for her.

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 10/01/2016 19:19

Yes, she has it totally figured out.

In RL K would go and chat with Ian about her concerns...

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 10/01/2016 19:20

Good for Kirsty although I think she is basing her concern on Helen is thin therefore Helen isn't eating, therefore Helen is unhappy, rather than knowing exactly what the cause of her misery is.

However, Helen was clearly going to say something. So I reckon at some poibt sge will say something.

And Kirsty unlike everyone else, is not singing Rob's praises.

EsmesBees · 10/01/2016 19:20

I think Kirsty will lay things to rest with Tom in order to team up and rescue Helen together. Tom doesn't have a lot of emotional intelligence but will listen to Kirsty when she says there is something wrong with his sister.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 10/01/2016 19:20

At some point.

KingscoteStaff · 10/01/2016 19:21

Go on Kirsty...

Putthetulipsthere · 10/01/2016 19:21

Kirsty to the rescue ( I hope!!) Surely she will voice her concerns to Pat. She may well have noticed that Hellin looks underweight ( as well as I'll) given that in a spa you wear a swimming costume.

If ever there was a time when I felt shudders listening to Knob, it was tonight!

Putthetulipsthere · 10/01/2016 19:23

As well as ill! (grumbles at iPad spell checker)

OhforGodsake · 10/01/2016 19:27

I've listened to TA for over 30 years but had to stop when Rob really began to isolate Helen. All became too close for comfort and brought back so many unhappy memories that each episode left me in tears. Haven't tuned in for months now. Please will someone let me know when Rob is dead so I can tune in again?

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 10/01/2016 19:30

I particularly enjoy the tone of Kirsty's 'Rob'.

I think she has always had the measure of him and she 'knows' Helen. The few times they've met since K's return Helen has been 'off' - the words (in praise of Rob) have been there- but without conviction.

TeenAndTween · 10/01/2016 19:30

Come on Kirsty. First tiny glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel? (Please)

Minimammoth · 10/01/2016 19:31

This sounds more like it. I might even listen.

Gruach · 10/01/2016 19:44

BOOP BOOP BOOP BOOP BOOP

( See? Grin)

DadDadDad · 10/01/2016 19:57

gruach - now you sound like you're a vehicle reversing. Grin

Gruach · 10/01/2016 20:01

It's Helen and Kirsty's getaway car ...

NorthernLurker · 10/01/2016 20:10

So obviously Rob has got the parental whatsit thing they did at the court. Through the whole job share situation he has also positioned himself perfectly to claim he does at least 50% of the care of Henry. In fact now that Helen isn't driving he does the majority of the pick ups and drop offs. I bet Henry's school barely see Helen. So how is she going to get out of that?

GypsyFl0ss · 10/01/2016 20:50

Grin Gruach and DDD .

Go Kirsty, kick his cocking arse.

WipsGlitter · 10/01/2016 20:59

Marking. Couldn't find you all!

DadDadDad · 10/01/2016 21:24

When gruach mentioned the getaway car, I had visions of H & K doing a Thelma and Louise, "accidentally" killing Rob and driving off with the Borsetshire police in hot pursuit...

BYOSnowman · 10/01/2016 21:30

i was picturing them jumping in the car all dramatically with Rob raving at the door about to give chase, and then reversing slowly with the boop's while he stands there looking at his watch and tapping his foot, before angrily giving chase as they zoom off

LyndaNotLinda · 10/01/2016 22:18

I still think my theory's correct. That he will agree to go only if Helen agrees to let him take babyknob. Otherwise he'll take Henry too.

I think Kirsty's got the measure of him and will do something. I don't hate TA at all incidentally - I listen avidly. But I get frustrated in the way that you would if an old friend starting having a midlife crisis and started listening to music you know they hate to fit in with their racy new lover :o

I loved Bert Fry's poem in today's Ambridge Observer:
New beginnings

It’s Happy New Year for David and Ruth,
A relief to all, and that’s the truth,
For when she went travelling Down Under,
I thought they might be split asunder.

David moped and spread the word
He planned to give up the dairy herd,
But Ruth came back and put him right,
They’ll still have cows – but not black and white!

So now they’re both like love’s young dream,
And Jill’s a cat that’s got the cream,
With Matt around, she’s a happy grandmother
Because Pip’s gone off that Toby Fairbrother.

And as if our good news isn’t enough,
Lynda Snell has found her wandering Scruff!
He must have covered a lot of mileage,
But he wasn’t dead in Home Farm’s silage.

So after the terrible year we’ve had –
And losing my Freda still makes me sad –
At last we’re having a bit of luck.
As Eddie Grundy would say: ‘Thank goodness!’
