Yes indeed, BOYOS. He's covering his backside every step of the way.

That midwife home visit when he arrived home at the end of it a couple of months ago. That was the private visit without partner present, wasn't it? There might not be another one and she's telling all and sundry how much Rob looks after her.
It's beginning to look as though no magic fairy is going to rescue her, especially if Kirsty gives up. I noticed that Helen revealed only hands and feet on the spa trip and snapped at Kirsty when K commented that she looked thin.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/01/2016 11:26

Is having a severe ED covered by MH act. I would think it might be more likely to trigger alarms about her MH than DA.

But yes that would be interesting if they did a spot of forensic accounting on the Berrow books. Charlie also spunded like he might be preparing to spill the beans.

Although thinking about it if Adam ends up with Charlie, then effectively Rob is the only one who has done right by Ian by warning him that it was going on. JD and H just let him walk into it.

LyndaNotLinda · 17/01/2016 11:31

She knows she's not eating. She is terrified of being found out - people with EDs are very clever at hiding it in my experience.

She did have a back massage didn't she - I would love it if the therapist said something to Kirsty.

Well that ending (Adam and Charlie) was entirely predictable. Poor Iain :(

Am I the only person who thinks JD would be really quite pleased if Adam ended up with Charlie? She does that fluttery thing around him

People can be sectioned for anorexia, but I think it needs to get to the point that they're putting their lives in danger.

Maybe the food thing is a calculated ploy by Rob? He knows that it's unlikely to go far enough to harm the baby because the MW will pick it up, and he will then be able to control Helen even more by standing over her and making her eat when he knows that will be absolutely hellish for her.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/01/2016 11:53

The NICE guidelines do say she should get extra care and possibly extra scans.

"Pregnant women with either current or remitted anorexia nervosa should be considered for more intensive prenatal care to ensure adequate prenatal nutrition and fetal development."

Yet her care seems quite relaxed. I would have thought Rob would be very keen to have a baby that reached or exceeded growth targets. although I may just be projecting from my ex who complains the kids are not big enough all the time

Gruach · 17/01/2016 11:58

Well yes. All of that. Except that Roy is blood related to an Archer so I think he'll always be in it one way or another.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/01/2016 12:03

Nooooooooo.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/01/2016 12:07

Surely, if Tom were in that position having done what he has done, you would wish them well and accept it is your lot to be lovelorn because you fucked up big time and you have absolutely no right to inflict yourself on that person again.

If you love them let them have their dignity type thing.

If he makes a move I hope she kicks him in the pig nuts.

enochroot · 17/01/2016 12:50

Talking of Roy and 'his train-wreck of a life', is Rob's viciousness about Roy a sign of jealousy that R got it on with Elizabeth?

Roy and Hayley are together again in my crystal ball. I think Kirsty is too old for a Fairbrother but maybe Patrick is still a possibility.

LyndaNotLinda · 17/01/2016 12:51

I thought Hayley's firm agreement that love persists even when you're apart was very pointed

I was on the M11 when Tom realised he loved Kirsty and they got back together. I remember it vividly - I think I may have cried. Kirsty is surely not stupid enough to go back a third time although I would love your predictions to be true - after all, Tom really is a different person nowadays :o

(ETA - did anyone else find it very tricky to distinguish between Tom and Matthew's voices in the Bull?) All these young men sound the same!

GruntledOne · 17/01/2016 13:14

I think Rob was vicious about Roy for the same reason he's vicious about people like Emmur -he's insecure socially and expresses it in raging snobbery. God knows why Helen ever found him attractive.

CuttedUpPear · 17/01/2016 13:19

Ah yes of course Bore, the HMSL.
I must have mistaken the cut of Roy's crimplene for something more, ahem, substantial there. Dust speck on the orb, you know.

I'm really looking forward to a hook up between St Smugula and Knob. Twill be bliss.

Imbroglio · 17/01/2016 13:24

Kirsty and Rex? Or is Rex too young for her?

I can see her herding ducks.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/01/2016 13:26

It will indeed CUP Grin

He will hate Alan, of course, and will make Smugs travel miles and miles on Sunday in order to worship elsewhere.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/01/2016 13:29

Tweedledum and Tweedledumber will not be long-term. They will go the way of Carol, ie sudden disappearance (but to Brighton rather than Bristol)

SaguaroBlossom · 17/01/2016 13:31

Enjoying the thread very much - hope I can de-lurk and join in?
Rob- so many things wrong about him, which we all know. Something that keeps niggling at me - when he was introduced to Richard Locke a few weeks ago, Richard thought they had met before, but Rob quite assertively denied this. Could Richard have been involved in his DNA test for Jess' baby? I never believed that he wasn't the father and thought that he had somehow fiddled the result - although I don't understand why he would want to deny that baby, especially as it is a boy. The only possible reason would be the Archer money. I keep hoping that this is another one of his dirty dealings that will eventually materialise.

Imbroglio · 17/01/2016 13:38

Shula won't go for Knob. She may be temporarily grateful to him for helping her at the hunt, but she saw him with the hunt sab.

(Does Rob ride one of her horses to hounds?)

Imbroglio · 17/01/2016 13:39

Blossom we have it from Keri (script writer) that the test result was genuine.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/01/2016 13:42

Saguaro, Richard took the DNA sample from Rob live on air (swab in cheek, IIRC). No hanky panky. We heard Rob and Richard meeting and it was clearly the first time. There were comments here after they met again that it was very unprofessional of Richard to mention having met Rob before, as health care professionals must often meet people in circumstances they'd rather not have broadcast far and wide.

Unfortunately for the theory that the test was somehow fiddled, one of the scriptwriters has tweeted to say that it was all above board. Rob was not the father of Jess's baby.

Gruach · 17/01/2016 13:44

Welcome Blossom.

Dr Locke performed the DNA test on Rob. The scriptwriters (well one, presumably speaking for all of them!) has assured listeners, via Twitter, that there was no skullduggery with regard to the test.

(Perhaps the SWs regret not being clear enough in their writing of the relevant episodes as they're now having to explain them outside the broadcast.)

It may be that they put those deeply unprofessional words into Doc Locke's mouth (saying he thought he'd met Rob somewhere,) purely to remind listeners that the two had indeed met first in a different context.

3littlefrogs · 17/01/2016 13:44

Surely all of these characters are getting on a bit? I have lost track - Shula must be in her 50s by now?

How old are Rob and Helen?

Gruach · 17/01/2016 13:45

Ok - so I type slowly. What?

Grin
3littlefrogs · 17/01/2016 13:49

My last post was in connection with the idea that Rob and Shula might get together. I am sure Elizabeth is quite a bit older than Rob and Roy - I was never convinced that the fling between Roy and Elizabeth was credible.
