Roy's already inherited one Bridge Farm ex. Stretching the bounds of credulity for him to get another!

I do hope he & Hayley reconcile. I miss her

Imbroglio · 17/01/2016 14:00

Helen is 37. I imagine Rob to be a little older.
Roy is 38?

3littlefrogs · 17/01/2016 14:15

I missed how Dr Locke arrived back on the scene. Has he been away working elsewhere or just silent for a while?

He must be on the verge of retiring.

I have been listening to these characters for so many years and I know I am well past my sell by date. (Maybe they have all got portraits in the attic).

SaguaroBlossom · 17/01/2016 14:22

Oh, thanks for clearing that up for me! Sorry though that it was all above board, I wanted him busted for another misdeed.

ppeatfruit · 17/01/2016 14:32

3litlefrogs if you think Lizzie is too old for knob then Shula as her older sister would be like Rob graverobbing! But of course both of the women are high status in Amb. so would suit him in that respect.

3littlefrogs · 17/01/2016 14:35

Yes - exactly. It is all very odd.

3littlefrogs · 17/01/2016 14:37

I also thought that Lillian seemed to have rather interesting sex life for someone in her 70s.

I am developing a theme here, I know (wonders if this is all normal and own sex life is somewhat tame...) Grin

ppeatfruit · 17/01/2016 14:46

I know what you mean ; my dsis can hardly walk with arthritis at 64, let alone have an active sex life Grin

I follow a very healthy eating regime so am able bodied, but I doubt if any of the Amb. residents do Grin.

mollie123 · 17/01/2016 15:06

just caught up with the omnibus edition
don't understand all you 'feeb' supporters
she is as wussy as a 13 year old - crying over the 'love of her life' and setting women's lib back 50 years if she is even considering 'giving up Oxford' when she has not even got the results she needs yet.
if she is nearly 18 she is an adult and should act more like it if she is going to hack it at Oxford (or any other university)
and she is a poor actress as well. I could not listen to her whining which sounded more like Eastenders than a mature radio soap Smile
Ducks below the parapet.
Now if it was a working class teen with maturity and battling against non-supportive parents who was offered a place - I would be right behind the storyline.

Imbroglio · 17/01/2016 15:13

I think the Oxford/Alex storyline is about showing Roy & Hayley as good parents versus fusspot/pushy Jenny and absent Kate.

Gruach · 17/01/2016 15:23

Oh - but Jenny has been an utterly excellent grandmother. And I hope we'll eventually be shown that she's been a creditable stepmother to Ruairi too. (Her grown up children are obviously a bit of a mixed bag.)

Imbroglio · 17/01/2016 15:35

On the whole, I agree that Jenny is a good grandmother, but in this case she has projected her own ambitions on to Phoebe.

Minimammoth · 17/01/2016 16:03

I am a hopeless old softy and want complete reconciliation with Roy and Hayley. Want Kirsty and Tom to be mates against Rob. Want Charlie to 'get' Rob. I thought it sounded as if he was going to gather evidence.

enochroot · 17/01/2016 16:18

I thought Jenny showed good sense in asking Phoebe to speak to her parents, Roy and Hayley, before chucking it all in for Alex. They rose to the occasion wonderfully.
I hope they get back together and maybe Kirsty and Tom will too. As someone said, he is a totally different person now!
If Hayley still lived in the village I bet she would have spotted Helen's distress by now.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/01/2016 16:33

I think the Feeb story was totally age appropriate. 18 yr olds who have not worked/lived tend to think they are the only people ever to have fallen in love and everything is a massive melodrama.

I would like Kirsty and Tom to unite agai st Rob but without getting back together. I would be ok witb Hayley taking Toy back as long as she gave him a massively hard time. He wasn't exactly repentent and he very much kept jis optiobs open with Lizzue when it all came out. He treated Hayley with total indifference for months.

ppeatfruit · 17/01/2016 16:53

Exactly SmalLegs mollie We are all different, IMO Feebs IS quite an immature 17\18 yr old (like a lot of them) but she's been through a lot. Her dad isn't exactly MC is he? She's lucky having JD as her granny to give her the security she craves.

The right decision has been made too.

R4 · 17/01/2016 18:46

Phoebe/Alex are a compare&contrast for Helen/Rob. Phoebe was being immature, and caving in to EA, but quickly wised up after a few prompts from the adults (good sign for Oxford?).

Legs/Eggs: I am going to rename you (or your phone) Officer Crabtree.Grin

Gruach · 17/01/2016 19:08

Can I borrow the crystal thingy?

When Jim dies he's going to leave Jazzer his cottage.

(I feel happier now.)

BYOSnowman · 17/01/2016 19:10

Well it's s nice to hear from people we haven't heard from for a while.

KingscoteStaff · 17/01/2016 19:11

When Jim dies, Alastair will have to say something.

BYOSnowman · 17/01/2016 19:12

Pips voice has changed hasn't it?

And yes - it is embarrassing that your parents are so involved in your sex life pip

LyndaNotLinda · 17/01/2016 19:12

ppea - my gran lived on her own past 100 years and as far as I can tell, lived on battenburg cake and tea (with two sugars). She didn't eat fruit or veg so I've come to the conclusion it's all the luck of the draw. She didn't give up smoking until she was 65 either.

I totally buy Feebs being a bit romantic/nerdy. She's never had a proper boyfriend and she's lost her virginity to Alex. That's a massive deal at 18.

Pip's voice makes me want to murder small children

Gruach · 17/01/2016 19:13

'Bout what Kingscote?

BYOSnowman · 17/01/2016 19:14

Well Charlie sounds quite down for a man who has just shagged the love of his life!!

Nice to hear Brian - he's a wise old bird (except when it comes to women!!)

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/01/2016 20:21

I think Kingscote means Alistair will have to be heard on air. However, I don't see Jim SOTMC for a while yet.

Phoebe is 18 at the end of June. I always remember this because it's one of two significant Archer birthdays that coincide with birthdays in my wider family.
