So good to hear Haley and a bit of parenting going on. I always thought Pheobe would be a bit too switched on to fall for Alex's guilt trip but I guess it makes sense that her self confidence is low given everything she's been through with Kate and with Roy's affair.

GruntledOne · 13/01/2016 19:57

Me: Let's hope Hayley turns up, if she tells Phoebe she'd be insane to give up Oxford Phoebe might listen to her.

Me and the SW - two minds with but a single thought.

Gruach · 13/01/2016 20:01

Tell us what's in Brighton then!

FinestGrundyTurkey · 13/01/2016 20:52

Olivia, Alice & Chris were both born in 1988 iirc

so relatively young for thinking about babies...

R4 · 13/01/2016 21:17

Where was the wassail and therefore the fire - was it Grundy's Field or Grange Farm?

BlackeyedShepherdsbringsheep · 13/01/2016 21:27

shed. as far as I heard.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 13/01/2016 21:43

In the orchard.

EBearhug · 13/01/2016 21:51

That was defintely an episode with lots of BOOP points! Hurrah for Hayley! Hurrah for Kirsty!

And all that stuff about Hayley and Roy working as a team, and Hayley missing Ambridge and really enjoying herself. It would be great if they sorted their differences out.

Also, good on Kirsty. If it gets back to Rob, he'll have something to say about it.

And also good for Phoebe for carrying on with the wassail queen stuff and for her determination with Oxford, even if it wasn't entirely her choice - Alex is clearly an arse. Though I wonder if there may not be more to come there, with him offering to reunite if she gives up Oxford ideas. Still, she might realise she's better off doing what she wants rather than him, seeing how he is.

Gosh, really? I'm out of touch with all this stuff but I'd have thought late 20s would be a good time to think about starting a family for a happily married couple with no money worries and in Alice's case a secure job which she's been in long enough to get maternity leave and benefits. There's a lot to be said for getting on with it all while the mother's fertility is still high and the couple have more energy and stamina to deal with the broken nights and so on.

MouldyPeach · 13/01/2016 21:58

Delurking to ask if anyone else found tonight's episode a bit.. Wicker Man?

BertrandRussell · 13/01/2016 22:05

"Delurking to ask if anyone else found tonight's episode a bit.. Wicker Man?"

A bit- but us country folk do that sort of thing. You should see us in the cherry orchards in spring round our way.............

MouldyPeach · 13/01/2016 22:08

Makes me worry for Harrison.

LillianGish · 13/01/2016 22:21

Booptastic episode. More than a glimmer there of a reconciliation between Hatley and Roy - something about love being able to survive distance (or was I just imagining it?) Kirsty, Hayley, Roy some ridiculous, rustic gallivanting and no Fairbrethren (unless they were in the cider shed).

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 13/01/2016 22:29

It was SUPER wasn't it

Gruach · 13/01/2016 22:30

Definitely BOOP- worthy.

(Although now it seems that when Kirsty said weeks ago that Hayley "is a friend" she meant someone with whom she had got on well while they lived in the same place, rather than someone she supported closely through a traumatic domestic breakdown ...)

I'm slightly anxious that there should be no human ashes to be found in the smouldering shed tomorrow. We've had quite enough bad news lately.)

honest I'm not just place marking

Sorry, Gasp0de - I'm sure you're right!

(it's just that DS1 is the same age - bit younger than Chris, bit older than Alice - & is currently having a wonderful time & couldn't be further from settling down & having babies. & my DDs, who are older, ditto. So I'm probably looking at it from the wrong angle Grin)

BYOSnowman · 14/01/2016 09:06

I was 28 when I had my first.

I bet you want be sorry if they find robs ashes in the shed!!

redshoeblueshoe · 14/01/2016 09:37

BYOS - that would be too good for him. I want to see him totally humiliated Grin

songbird · 14/01/2016 10:29

Was thwarted Alex pissed off enough to commit arson, do we think?

BitOutOfPractice · 14/01/2016 10:31

Just listened, Big BOOPs for Kirsty and Hayley! Let's hope Kirsty has sowed some seeds of doubt in Pat's mind

ppeatfruit · 14/01/2016 10:49

Agree about Kirsty and Hayley BOOP but a bit strange that Kirsty was talking to Roy ,a bloke, about Hell. Men don't tend to be emotionally aware enough to notice 'peakiness' or whatever. (no offence dad ) Grin

LyndaNotLinda · 14/01/2016 10:53

That was such a good episode! I love Hayley. Just the sound of her voice makes me feel calm and comforted :o

Bu I fervently hope this isn't going to be the Grundys all crashing into misery again after such a promising start to the year :(

northender · 14/01/2016 13:10

Just listened & agree that was a fab episode.

GruntledOne · 14/01/2016 13:27

I do hope someone gets word to Helen about Phoebe. It might help just a little for people to realise that you actually can stand up to controlling men.
