Merry Christmas all!
We have already gad a Christmas miracle - what will this evening bring?

I listened to Brine on WH , he was fab as usual Xmas Grin

See you later if not in a booze induced coma

Gruach · 25/12/2015 15:08

Yes, Brian was fun. I was trying to decipher some hidden "opinion about TA" in his words or tone - but hadn't heard anything definitive by the time I had to wander off and engage in timewasting Christmas stuff.

Is it wrong that I keep glancing at the clock with a patient sigh?Xmas Grin

Minimammoth · 25/12/2015 15:46

I hope you will all be joining in with the spirit of Callander girls and doing a bit of topless listening. Happy Christmas threaders.

Minimammoth · 25/12/2015 15:46

Calendar tch

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 25/12/2015 16:07

Gruach I thought he was a little "WTF is going on with our wonderful TA? it's away with the fairies ..."
but maybe I'm projecting

Dr Who and then TA. Must not nap!

Xmas Grin
BrendaandEddie · 25/12/2015 16:16

I am reading the New Archers book i got for xmas - its brilliant and v up to date

Gruach · 25/12/2015 16:21

He said something like "Well, in Ambridge anything can happen" didn't he? Yes ...

Freeriver · 25/12/2015 16:26

I would love an Archers apron.

TopazRocks · 25/12/2015 16:34

I can't wait to share minimammoth's suggestion with my menfolk over dinner. But i fear if i carry it through this will be the last Christmas with all of us in the same house! No doubt DH would be utterly thrilled but the 4 (adult-ish)sons, if they don't die of embarrassment, will disown me. And we are having a lovely time. Good radio, lovely un-OTT presents, all 6 of us under same roof, naice tree, lads and DH are busy in kitchen - I heard a lovely int with Bette Midler yesterday where she says she just watches her husband and dd doing Christmas. I'm with BM - though I do buy most of the presents. And wrap them, and give DH a shopping list for groceries ......

I have a TA book for ds2 for his bday - early Jan. He will like it as he is a Listener. Weirdly, ds1 who hasn't lived wiht us for a few years now, came back last night just before 7PM and made some ref to TA which suggests he listens now and then. My gob was smacked.

Anyway Happy Christmas to all of you over infested people, and I hope we all enjoy tomorrow's show. It is tomorrow? I love tht new thread title too.

TopazRocks · 25/12/2015 16:39

I did miss Brine on WH, heard end of programme only. Maybe he'll be on weekend WH. I see CG aka TOT (Tits Out Tastefully) on Sunday evening. I'll be there .... BTW we hada few flurries of slush about 11.30. So almost a white xmas. I hope Charlie brings his long johns. We are in Perthshire too.

Gruach · 25/12/2015 16:42

Topaz surely TA tonight, Calendar Girls on Sunday, nothing tomorrow (Saturday)?

TopazRocks · 25/12/2015 16:54

Yes, gruach, I checked the paper. It is Sunday for CG - but we might get Brine on Sat on Weekend WH. I don't have a life so lots of time for R4. and others. Off now for a pre-prandial lie down! The joys of big non-toddler children.

BrendaandEddie · 25/12/2015 17:45

h wrapped my book ' to brenda from Rob'
I don't know a Rob. I was utterly bemused. I wondered if I was having an affair no one told me about Grin

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/12/2015 17:59

Merry Christmas, everyone, and thanks for the new thread, Pseudo! My mum came up with the goods as usual.

Gruach · 25/12/2015 18:58

Just turned to R4 and caught the tail end of some Hel/Rob/SOK pastiche. Xmas Grin

CuttedUpPear · 25/12/2015 18:59

Did you just hear Dead Ringers? Excellent HelRob skit!
"Lie down in my pentangle...: Grin

BYOSnowman · 25/12/2015 20:00

Thanks for the new thread

WillSomebodyThinkOfStefan · 25/12/2015 20:31

Well that was a bit of a let down!

LillianGish · 25/12/2015 20:34

Can't keep up with either the thread or the programme at this time of year, but had to pop in the say Merry Christmas to one and all (hoping to catch up tomorrow).

JessTitchener · 25/12/2015 22:21

When Clarrie uttered the immortal words "Best Christmas ever" I was convinced that the grim reaper was lurking. Maybe he got distracted by the new farm shop and will be with us forthwith.

Joskar · 25/12/2015 22:44

Well I think a BOOP is due to Joe for eschewing (rather than chewing) his pork chop in favour of the goose. Also, Eddie, you fabulous man! Hunting down the sideboard. If that's not an act of love I don't know what is.

Scruff eats tripe...subtle message from script writer? "HELP US!"

Merry Christmas lovely funny folk!

ApplesinmyPocket · 25/12/2015 23:54

I gave myself this! as a newish listener I need all the help I can get Xmas Grin

Hope you have all had a lovely Christmas. It was partly because of you lot and these threads which gave me the final push to start listening last year - and I've been so glad I did - even though it exasperates me at times (is my Charlie Going for Good??)

R4 · 26/12/2015 00:14

Happy Christmas everyone! Sorry for the lateness of the greetings but one does, occasionally, feel that one has to spend the day with the family.Grin

I got DH a little booklet that is produced every year by the local history society. The back cover has a picture reproduced from the Radio Times in November 1961 which shows Archers gathered round the hearth: Dan is reading the paper and smoking his pipe, Doris is darning a sock and Christine is reading a book.
I'm looking forward to reading the article entitled Up the Ramp: tales of livestock transporting before during and after WWII. It sounds scintillating!

Pseudo do you know that the song carries on:
"Troll the ancient Christmas Carol
Fa la la, la la la, la la la"

ColdTeaAgain · 26/12/2015 00:26

Merry Christmas all!

Really enjoyed the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day episodes...apart from David's doom and gloom, although got to feel a bit sorry for the bloke who's wife can't even be bothered to call let alone come home at Christmas!

After all the build up to potential drama I think they made a good decision to make the Christmas episodes gentle and non-Eastendersy WineXmas Smile

EBearhug · 26/12/2015 00:27

I've had goose for the first time today, and I'm with Joe. It's really not bad.
