I listened to about half of CG then decided I didn't really care enough to go on. I could identify the women's voices but not the men's and I did find it confusing that there were character names common to it and TA - a Chris, a Ruth.......

R4 · 28/12/2015 15:45

I sort-of listened to CG yesterday and again today. I felt like a newbie to TA - lots of similar voices that I couldn't differentiate. I hadn't really got a scooby who or what anybody was. Probably my fault for not concentrating.
Meh.

FernieB · 28/12/2015 16:41

I enjoyed CG. I think you had to treat it as entirely different from TA, just another radio play. It worked well and they did a great job.

I'm not sure Ruth will turn up at at New Year. I really don't want David to stop milking, but I'm probably a little over invested in the farming themes. Good on Pip for not moping about but trying to sort herself out with work.

It's almost as if they've been saving all the funnies for this evening Xmas Grin

elephantoverthehill · 28/12/2015 19:20

Who knows how to unpick quickly? I'm quite sure it is not Lillian.

selsigfach · 28/12/2015 20:20

Well I was convinced Lynda was in CG yesterday but now, going by the comment in tonight's episode about the photographer not recognising his old teacher, I see that the Lynda sound-alike was the primadonna, Jean. Thoroughly confusing. Couldn't understand why Lynda was acting as well as directing.

Dipankrispaneven · 28/12/2015 20:35

Lynda was in CG, she was Marie.

Joskar · 28/12/2015 20:42

That was a good episode.

Is Kirsty a red knicker girl? Wouldn't have thought it of her. BOOP to Neil for pinning her back together. And Susan. Grin

selsigfach · 28/12/2015 20:55

Oh. Now I'm really confused.

selsigfach · 28/12/2015 20:56

Not enough to listen to CG again, mind!

Gruach · 28/12/2015 20:59

Although ... I doubt that Neil would have felt the need to say anything as cliched as "it's not how it looks". He and Susan don't have that kind of marriage.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 28/12/2015 22:29

Kirsty is so totally a red knicker kind of girl. Very much so in my version of her. She is from a similar mould to Jolene - confident, a bit saucy but not as downright flirty as Lillian, but also no nonsense and practical can look out for herself.

So yes red knickers...but probably M&S red knickers.

Dumdedumdedum · 29/12/2015 07:25

impostersyndrome - I'm wondering if I can find a n excuse reason to be in London for the Archers' conference Grin I can't find anything more about it than what I posted, I got the details from a FB group where one of the organisers, Cara Courage, posts updates. As soon as I see something about how to get tickets, I'll post it on hereGrin

impostersyndrome · 29/12/2015 07:50

Thanks!

PseudoBadger · 29/12/2015 07:51

I am worried about Lillian - her comment about how she should be feeling better by now after Christmas excesses. Will SOC be tackling long term terminal illness now?

OP posts:
Gruach · 29/12/2015 08:23

Yes, that was unexpected.

Will it be lung cancer?

She can't be ill alone. And Jenny isn't great at long term kindness, or noticing. She was no help at all to Tony when they were struggling with money.

Will this be what brings Mungo and family back for good?

Or, of course, Matt would be a fabulous nurse. She'd laugh herself to death.

VegetablEsoup · 29/12/2015 12:35

I loved the cg episode. so funny with the shrunken knitting and the red knickers!

NotdeadyetBOING · 29/12/2015 13:57

Delurking to say I am VERY worried about Lilian Sad

Gruach · 29/12/2015 17:02

Hel/Rob being used to illustrate the new coercive control law on PM.

Sometime in the next hour.

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/12/2015 17:04

You beat me to it Gruach Xmas Grin

Minimammoth · 29/12/2015 17:04

I must have missed the bit about Lillian. Was she not just talking of her depression after Matt leaving?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/12/2015 17:49

Here we go. 1748 if you're catching up on i player.

RockNRollNerd · 29/12/2015 17:53

Given Elizabeth's slightly clunky 'it's been five years' speech we're presumably up on the 65th anniversary...I fear Lil may not see much of 2016 Sad...
