Just listening to the film and Knob does indeed offer to 'help' with the cooking, not do it all. So he's got Hellin right where he wants her now: in the kitchen, at home, not allowed to see her own family on Christmas Day because this is your family now, isn't it, darling??

Gruach · 27/12/2015 11:07

Ambridge immersion today; the film then Desert Island Discs then tonight's episode then Calendar Girls.

Bliss.

Minimammoth · 27/12/2015 11:09

Boop for return of Scruff and Grundy's Christmas goose, and even Pip getting real about the possibility of having to find a job, although why that wasn't flagged up when she gave up the job opportunity earlier, the figures were known then.
Isn't Helen lucky having Rob, he's so thoughtful and caring.

Thanks Dumdedum - we talked about this a few threads ago when they sent out the call for papers; it's fabulous to see the full programme listed.

I'm so glad someone will be addressing the disappearance of Bethany - though I can't see that there's anything un-obvious to say.

But "The Feudal System in Ambridge" is singing to me.

Let's hope this becomes an annual event.

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/12/2015 13:06

Thank you Dumde

I would LOVE to go to that but, sadly, it is not to be. Wonder if a podcast/youtube or similar might be available?

Also wonder if any of the presenters are posting on these threads? Clearly, they are all Archers Afficionados Grin

BrendaandEddie · 27/12/2015 13:15

What film?

Gruach · 27/12/2015 13:17

Not telling!

BrendaandEddie · 27/12/2015 13:30

Oh. Confused

Gruach · 27/12/2015 13:35

Ages ago a poster recalled how her mother used to call the Sunday omnibus "the film". It was enthusiastically taken up by the thread.

So I only meant the omnibus this morning.

BrendaandEddie · 27/12/2015 13:37

Oh!! Fair enough.

I'm too impatient for omnibus. I was gutted last night when it wasn't on.

toldmywrath · 27/12/2015 13:44

Just had mammoth catch up & thanks for the jolly holly thread title Pseudo

toldmywrath · 27/12/2015 13:45

Ebearhug I fnarrgh'd at your comment so they have lots of need for milkman relief. Is it me?

toldmywrath · 27/12/2015 13:47

Oh whoever said they wondered if Scruff had been regularly turning up at Ambridge Hall, that made me feel really sorry for poor Scruff. I'm much more concerned about him that Hellin & Henwy.

Gruach · 27/12/2015 13:47

... Not just you wrath ...

Gruach · 27/12/2015 13:49

He probably had. Must have been bewildered to find first water and then strangers and unfamiliar smells everywhere. Poor Scruff.

toldmywrath · 27/12/2015 14:07

On the previous thread stickerrocks was harking back to her Cornish roots & another poster asked if she was from Sticker. I had to google as I thought she meant Rock (i.e. sticker being another name for Rock) Lovely beach at Rock & me,dh & dog enjoyed the little boat trip over to Padstow last summer.

toldmywrath · 27/12/2015 14:08

Poor Scruff, but at least Alistair has checked him out & tripe is on the menu (in more ways than one SOC)

toldmywrath · 27/12/2015 14:09

And I believe it was a listener's aunt that referred to the omnibus as the film (not her mother Grin )

BitOutOfPractice · 27/12/2015 14:51

How do I get to be there? I have to be there!

OliviaMumsnet · 27/12/2015 14:53

Place marking
Noted earlier that Scruff was trending on Twitter- folk were hoping that in addition to the return of Scruff, Clarrie's sideboard we may see an appearance from Helen's backbone. #wishfulthinking

Eastpoint · 27/12/2015 14:59

I'm so disappointed the conference is at half term. I wonder whether it will be streamed anywhere.

EBearhug · 27/12/2015 15:39

I grew up on a landed estate. My sister is currently renting a property which is part of a landed estate. I've always thought it was quite feudal. (Well, not always - I don't think I was aware of the concept of feudalism until I was about 9 or 10.)

EBearhug · 27/12/2015 15:43

EbearhugI fnarrgh'd at your commentso they have lots of need for milkman relief. Is it me?

Of course it is just you, told (and Gruach). I am famed throughout the country for my purity and innocence. Nothing to fnarr about in the slightest.

Wink
toldmywrath · 27/12/2015 16:01

Oops EBearhug I am not doubting your purity Wink
