I'm drawing a blank EBear. Not that it probably matters. He's not David

selsigfach · 11/12/2015 20:21

David very kindly emailed 'Ray' to say Ruth would be visiting and Ray very kindly offered to out her up and show her around his pants farm. Can't remember how they knew him. Visiting shearer, maybe, or they'd met through FU business.

NorthernLurker · 11/12/2015 20:21

I found Adam and Charlie rather moving. I've never warmed to Ian. He's just too good to be true.

Agree Shula will be as jealous as hell of her little sister. Stately home owning, younger, prettier, appearing nude as a highly sympathetic character in the village play and now, five years after Nigel's death, ready to move on to another eligible former flame of Shula's?

selsigfach · 11/12/2015 20:22

*put

enochroot · 11/12/2015 20:23

Adam has no intention of not marrying Ian but Rob is going to let the cat out of the bag at the stag night. Ian will call off the wedding and Charlie will travel the MI North with Adam (not stopping at Trowell).

Travelledtheworld · 11/12/2015 20:30

I found the entire Adam/Charlie conversation cringeworthy and unconvincing. They had one kiss and many awkward conversations about farming and cricket. They don't really know each other do they?

I think Charlie will leave Ambridge in a strop and have a horrible accident on the M6 leaving Adam harbouring his guilty secret forever

EBearhug · 11/12/2015 20:31

If he abandons all his herbal leys for a Charlie lay, how does that leave him financially? Hasn't he put his money into the farm, because it's the only way Brian would agree, if he took on some of the risk? Love alone really doesn't pay the bills.

enochroot · 11/12/2015 20:36

It looks like we'll need a nice new 'Will there be a Wedding?' thread. Grin

I'll make a small wager on NO.

YeOldeTrout · 11/12/2015 20:49

hmmm.... Rob scuppers the wedding.
Ian attempts to kill the messenger. Adam comes to rescue & sticks the final knife in Knob's back, together they dump the body somewhere, and have to play ignorant while wailing Helen wonders where Knob went.

PseudoBadger · 11/12/2015 20:50

"My best friends' wedding - will it be on, and I will go? Join Helen for the Ambridge wedding of the year"

OP posts:
Gruach · 11/12/2015 20:52

Think you've hit the nail on the head EBear; it's not Ian that Adam can't contemplate leaving, it's his herbal leys. He's far too in love with his new free range farming to give it up for anyone.

PseudoBadger · 11/12/2015 20:54

"If anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace. Rob? Charlie? Pavel?"

"Rob has Adam by the nuptials. Will the Ambridge wedding of the year go ahead? Find out here"

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 11/12/2015 21:12

Here's a thought - Rob knows about Pawel. It would even things up if Adam knew about Stefan. Maybe Stefan and Pawel could return as a couple.....

Dipankrispaneven · 11/12/2015 21:17

Are we going to have Roy getting all territorial and jealous if DocLocke starts sniffing round Elizabeth?

Gruach · 11/12/2015 22:31

Doc Delish could start up a little practice - perhaps bringing a couple of Felpershem GPs with him. Then Amy would be able to come back to Ambridge to work. And with everyone in their rightful place things would be so perfect Matt wouldn't be able to resist coming home!

Putthetulipsthere · 11/12/2015 23:59

YeOlde, I love your take on the wedding. Surely Rob can't resist ruining the wedding, and hopefully Charlie will knife him in the back too.

LyndaNotLinda · 12/12/2015 00:13

Wasn't there another bloke that had dalliances with both Shula and Lizzy?

Is this sort of thing normal? I'm very close in age to my sisters and I can't imagine ever going out with any of their exes. Bleugh

BYOSnowman · 12/12/2015 00:15

Doclocke will break lizzies heart

Adam pretty much admitted he fancies Charlie but doesn't love him.

And why on earth would he be enticed to follow him up to be stay at home hubby while Charlie goes out to work. Nuts.

I can't bear the whole nonsense of the 'when will Ian find out' sl

BiscuitMillionaire · 12/12/2015 00:23

Surely they can't have another wedding called off at the last moment, so soon after Tom n Kirsty?

I also can't imagine Charlie being written out, he's such a good character and has featured such a lot.

BYOSnowman · 12/12/2015 00:25

I reckon Ian could do a better scream though

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 12/12/2015 07:02

Nigel went out with Shula before Elizabeth! Even odder to marry one of your sister's exes.

80sWaistcoat · 12/12/2015 07:25

I think the Adam/Ian storyline is just a chance for Adam to say how much he really loves Ian. Bye Charlie. Rob gets barrow farm, makes total hash and whole him and Helen thing comes to whatever awful conclusion they've thought up. Then Charlie comes back, saves the day. Then Adam actually falls in love with Charlie. Ta dah!

DadDadDad · 12/12/2015 08:24

BOOP - Grin for 'Locksfest' - very good!

LillianGish · 12/12/2015 08:36

Well there's another Brookfield storyline we all saw coming a mile off. I'm finding Ruth's lack of interest in her own children after losing her mum very hard to swallow. A bit sad - I used to think Brookfield was a real farm, now I know it's just figment of SOC's not very good imagination. Ruth upped sticks to go to NZ because David and Pip wouldn't let her get a look in - the moment she leaves Pip disappears of with the Fairbrethren and things fall apart. Why isn't David telling Ruth what is going on - I've broken my arm, the cows have got pneumonia, I've hired some help and Pip's given up and gone to pluck some geese (and I was really looking forward to our anniversary and I've bought you a present which is much too heavy to post). I found the sign off to their conversation particularly unconvincing - don't stay away too long. What about - I need to know when you are coming back because I am trying to run the farm literally single-handed!!
I wondered if Ian had overheard Adam's speech to Charlie - maybe it was my imagination, but I thought I could hear footsteps on the gravel.

Dipankrispaneven · 12/12/2015 08:40

Betcha we're going to get a tedious storyline around whether Ruth will come back for Christmas or not. Because of course in SOC's mind it will be highly credible that she'd want to spend Christmas away from her family just after losing her mother.
