Boop for the acting of Joe, both in today's episode and the one when he saw the hostel. Very high quality.

minininipie · 10/12/2015 21:30

Or maybe as smalllegs says, there'll be some lovey dovey ruth and dave reunion and all will be forgiven. Typical!

AnnieNoMouse · 10/12/2015 22:01

Boop - wishing you some hoop points of your own Flowers

FinestGrundyTurkey · 10/12/2015 22:10

Agree completely about Joes acting in both those episodes, Dip

I tried to explain to DH (an occasional accidental listener) tonight what was going on & choked up again when it came to explaining Joe going home Blush

I don't think he's gong to die any time soon though. Part of the joy of his cough cough 'farmer's lung' is that it will never see him off Grin

enochroot · 10/12/2015 22:17

Oliver and Caroline are happy for the ferrets to move in, yes?

Bea · 10/12/2015 22:19

Hoorah!! A proper archers episode.. I give my very very first Boop!!... I was saving for the end of the bloody rob and Helen trauma!!

BYOSnowman · 10/12/2015 22:51

Gosh. Who could have predicted that?

And silly old David -not realising how much they need Ruth - so glad it's been thrown in his face in great quantities

Joskar · 10/12/2015 23:05

BOOP! Boopity, boopity, boopity, boopity, boopity! Boopity!

Hoorah!

LyndaNotLinda · 10/12/2015 23:21

Yay! BOOP-di-BOOP :o :o :o

Although I have to confess that I'm not sure I'd want Joe Grundy living in my house :o

Caroline and Oliver aren't coming back are they? Perhaps they'll leave Grange Farm to Ed and Will now they're getting on so much better

NorthernLurker · 10/12/2015 23:31

I agree - Joe's scenes have been super affecting. Just fab tonight. I don't care that it's another attack of the Ambridge house fairy. Just lovely!

Gruach · 10/12/2015 23:42

Will?

Will doesn't need anything.

All of Grange Farm is for lovely Ed.

Though I hope there won't be any sudden cutting out of Caroline and Oliver. I was anticipating many happy years of them returning intermittently to stay in the best Grey Gables suite, listen indulgently to village troubles and urge Ed on to ever greater triumphs.

PrincessFiorimonde · 11/12/2015 00:33

Ha! Even though we knew it was coming, it was nice. Though I'll be a bit sorry if Caroline and Oliver are written out altogether.

BOOP points, of course.

And Flowers for BOOP herself.

EBearhug · 11/12/2015 01:43

I don't want Oliver and Caroline to go either. Although we have gone long stretches without hearing much from them in the past, so that would be okay.

David hasn't told Ruth about his broken arm, about the cattle's blood sugar problems, and now about the pneumonia (though to be fair, that's only just happened, so they've barely even had time.) Ruth went away partly because she wasn't feeling involved at all, and felt no one was telling her anything. Which part of David thinks not mentioning all these things which are actually quite major is actually going to help this situation when she returns at the weekend? (Except I am expecting a phonecall in tomorrow's episode to say she's decided to stay on for a week or two.)

(For those who wish to relive it, the Wicker Heifer was here - their DB seems to have screwed the dates. I mean, I know I'm sort of surprised we're already half way through December, but I was still pretty sure we were in 2015, not somewhere past 2034...)

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/12/2015 02:06

Thanks Bearhug - talk about a trip down Memory Lane!

2034 though? Xmas Confused

Eastpoint · 11/12/2015 04:29

Sadly reading that reminded me of the period earlier this year when Alistair kept going on conferences or to meetings on the others side of Felpersham. Nothing happened did it, he just let Shula down a few times. Loved reading the old posts & recognising the old user names.

Dipankrispaneven · 11/12/2015 06:38

Strange how the Brookfield cows managed for weeks on end with Ruth constantly in Prudhoe, but everything goes downhill within 10 days of her going to New Zealand.

Imbroglio · 11/12/2015 07:15

Will is Carolines god son so she might leave her half to him. Oliver has family somewhere.

nagsandovalballs · 11/12/2015 07:24

Sorry to put a dampener on things, but I reckon joe will shuffle off the mortal coil within months of moving in.

GypsyFl0ss · 11/12/2015 07:25

Thanks for the mustardy blast from the past Bearhug .

BYOSnowman · 11/12/2015 07:26

If Oliver and Caroline stay in Italy they will require money and that would involve selling their up property. Unlikely to sell grey gables as that provides an income.

Gruach · 11/12/2015 07:29

It's Ed's turn. Will has already benefited from a massive and quite unfair inheritance. And I don't see him ever giving Ed a share in that (so half of No 1 The Green). Besides, it's Ed who put in years and years of work with the Grange Farm herd.

BYOSnowman · 11/12/2015 07:37

Ed wouldn't be able to pay the inheritance tax bill so would have to sell up anyway

And why are we killing off Caroline and Oliver? I would see the result of that being Justin buying up the house and hotel

Gruach · 11/12/2015 07:40

Oh I definitely don't want them killed off, but I won't see Will steal any part of the good fortune coming to Ed!

I'm sure he won't have to worry about inheritance tax any time soon.

R4 · 11/12/2015 08:13

Strange how the Brookfield cows managed for weeks on end with Ruth constantly in Prudhoe, but everything goes downhill within 10 days of her going to New Zealand.

This. It's utter tosh.

But a big boop for Joe and Bartleby and the ferrets. And Ed'n'Em. And Eddie and Clarrie.
Though I hope that it doesn't mean the end of Oliver and Caroline.

LillianGish · 11/12/2015 08:22

Well it would be churlish not to boop - and who saw that coming? Grin I'm not sure how realistic it is, but I think that no longer matters - Italy is to Caroline and Oliver what Canada was to Tom and New Zealand is to Ruth. Do people seriously take off abroad indefinitely? Well actually, come to think of it I do know of one family who did that - but so many? It's becoming a rite of passage in Ambridge. I would add Hungary and South Africa, but Debbie actually has a job and in the case of Kate it is more of a surprise that she has not been backsince two of her children are there. As for Joe it is my belief that he will go on until the actor himself dies (or wants to give up). I can't see even SOC killing Joe off for dramatic effect - Joe is is a brilliant creation and SOC is incapable of creating anyone to fill his shoes. One final thought, now Oliver is gone who will become Master of the Hunt - please don't let it be Knob.
