I didn't like the Clarrie and Susan scene. Susan was trying to be kind but was scripted to say several unconsciously cruel things. Can't remember the specifics now but it was along the lines of "You poor thing, it must be awful not having a roof over your head ... Well, it was lovely having a chat but I must away now to my home to make tea in my cosy kitchen and put Neil's slippers by the fire."
The SW really hate Susan.Sad I like her because she's a trier: born a Horrobin but has pulled herself up by her bootstraps.

Yay for Ollie Foxbreath!

You must listen to it Pseudo

Lancelottie · 10/12/2015 19:15

Hope they can resist having Joe keel over from sheer joy...

EsmesBees · 10/12/2015 19:15

Oliver has offered his place to the Grundy's for 6 months rent free.

Had a bit of a prickly eye just then in that Joe and Ed scene.

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/12/2015 19:17

It'll be the Best Grundy Christmas Ever Xmas Grin Star

JOY TO THE WORLD trala la laaaah

phoebemac · 10/12/2015 19:22

They're going to bump him off, aren't they? Or maybe the SW just want us to think that...

PseudoBadger · 10/12/2015 19:22

I think there's a high possibility that Joe will SOTMC within the next six months.

New Year's Day is TA 65th anniversary.

They threw Nigel off the roof for the 60th...

enochroot · 10/12/2015 19:28

I think Joe will get his wish and live out his days at Grange Farm.

Lancelottie · 10/12/2015 19:31

'...it's 'ow 'e would've wanted to go, Clarrieluv, in 'is own bed, on 'is own farm...'

Lancelottie · 10/12/2015 19:32

I can think of a much better candidate for some roof-chucking, Bore.

FinestGrundyTurkey · 10/12/2015 19:33

Just rushed off to listen. Huge lump in throat at Joe SadGrin

enochroot · 10/12/2015 19:37

Best of all if Joe could see another spring at Grange Farm and Knob experiences the New Year roof fall or its equivalent.

A nice case of botulism caught from a Fairbrethren goose would fit the bill nicely. Helen won't eat any of course and Henry will have been put to bed without any dinner so Knob and Knobbish relatives consume the lot and keel over.

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/12/2015 19:44

I want Knob to be burned in a Wicker Man on top of Lakey Hill*

That would be a fitting way to mark the 65th annversary.

*this was done once on the old TA messageboard but I can't remember now who was sacrificed

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 10/12/2015 20:50

Pneumonia eh? Bet that's another thing they neglect to tell Ruth. All this Ruth would have noticed. Ruth would never have got her arm broken. Ruth would never have let the cows get ketosis. All sounds like its leading up to David doing a big 'oh Ruth. I never realised how much we miss you. You do so much. Pip is good but she's just not you. Oh...and I love you as well too. Obviously"

And well there's a surprise. Joe isn't going into a hostel after all. I was so convinced he wasHmm

Also slightly Hmm at Clarrie saying "so we don't have to move into the flat..." it's out of character for Clarrie to put herself first.

But......yay!!!

GypsyFl0ss · 10/12/2015 20:55

I think it was Saint Shula Bore .

I love that episode. Proper archers. But I agree that Joe is not long for this world.

minininipie · 10/12/2015 21:28

What telling words from Jill 'then everything can get back to normal'... Yeah right! Ruth will never return to see her calf and mother ornament... And it'll all be too late for David to make amends (especially when she finds out about he broke arm, Matthew and the pneumonia).

Good news for the Grundys although it was rather obvious I have to say...Grin
