Given a choice between conspiracy and cock up I always go for cock up, particularly where the BBC's concerned! When they first started the catch up facility on the website, it seemed to depend on somebody remembering to switch on the recorder just before the programme started and switch it off again at the end and then getting round to uploading that recording to the website.

So my guess is that they splice the recordings together for each episode and then splice those together for the omnibus, but on this occasion after that was done they decided they needed to cut a bit out of the weekday episode and just forgot to amend the omnibus tape.

Re last night - I disagree with most of the rest of you. I thought it was quite good and I wasn't surprised to hear that Keri Davies wrote the scripts for this week. I can always tell, because there's something slightly different about his dialogue. He's also extremely adept at picking songs which play in the background at key moments, probably because his other job is being a DJ. Grin

Er, just chipping in to say that my one and only ever speeding fine (in over 30 years) got me a straight fine and points with no offer of speed awareness course. And no, I wasn't doing 20+mph over the limit. I do however live not a million miles from Pebble Mill. I suspect there may be regional variations in how police forces deal with speeding.

"Dum tee dum podcast" ? Where do I find this?

dumteedum.com it's a podcast discussing the week's episodes, usually comes out on a Monday or Tuesday, with listeners calling and emailing in their thoughts. It's about an hour long and I often fall asleep before the end if I listen at night.

Dipankrispaneven · 05/12/2015 14:50

Matthew is contracted for more than 2 weeks dipan, I think that he'll be needed till Dave's arm out of plaster. What is worrying me is that there has been no mention whatsoever of them calling Ruth to discuss appointing him.

Will they still need him when Ruth's back? I thought she had this magic touch with the cows.

They did have a whole discussion about telling Ruth and decided against. That's going to go well when she comes back ...

choccyp1g · 05/12/2015 15:47

But maybe she won't come back...

GypsyFl0ss · 05/12/2015 19:31

Gasp0de I though it was Keri but hadn't got around to checking. He writes very dry interactions and seems to have a special fondness for Brian and his tasselly loafers.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 06/12/2015 00:03

Yes ppeat noted that Kenton is still PAwith Dave and no mention of nor sympathy for the broken arm.

I thought asking Marthew was off. He's a relief milker. Consulting is not his job. And anyway I thought peep knew everything

But even this 'not telling'thing and getting into a deeper and deeper muddle as a result is very soap Corrie/EE. I like a good soap but the ridiculous tangled web plotlines always irritate me.

More Scones less soap please.

MeolsCop · 06/12/2015 00:06

Gasp0de, re. 'the extra bit', yes, agree, rather inattentive editing would be my guess too (though it's all digital these days, so the slicing/cutting out is done via a computer screen). Careless, though!

Listening to the Film....I hoped there was going to be some previously undetected detail on Joe's birth certificate that meant the Grundys were the rightful owners of some significant capital or property just then.....

Minimammoth · 06/12/2015 10:51

Also listening to film. The 'frisson of verisimilitude '. I must work that into a conversation this week.

SaffyRosie · 06/12/2015 11:20

Do you think we might be heading for a storyline of abused Helen killing Rob when she finally snaps.

The scriptwriters could explore the issue of abused women who murder their abusive husbands - has this been covered before? Not only would it get rid of nasty Rob but wimpy, wet Helen would have do some time in prison so I wouldn't have to listen to her for a while. Whenever she comes on I suffer radio rage, usually shouting for her to "grow a backbone".

enochroot · 06/12/2015 11:20

Yes, I thought there might be something significant about Joe's birth certificate when Clarrie started reading out the dates.

Minimammoth · 06/12/2015 11:50

I too thought that Helen may be pushed into some form of dramatic action. Running away, attack or getting rid of the baby some way.

BYOSnowman · 06/12/2015 13:34

Well it's already been done in eastenders. Word of advice to rob - don't wind her up when she's doing the ironing.

Dipankrispaneven · 06/12/2015 13:36

I really hope they don't go down the murder route, that would be eastenderisation taken to ridiculous lengths.

enochroot · 06/12/2015 15:04

I think that by not eating she's unconsciously trying to get rid of the baby, perhaps even consciously.
The MW should have spotted something by now, surely?

lljkk · 06/12/2015 19:15

Shouldn't have taken Rex to A&E for "not serious" injury. Tsk tsk.

Gruach · 06/12/2015 19:19

I was worrying that they shouldn't be moving him at all if it's a back injury.

Guess he won't be seeing any more geese this side of Christmas.

elephantoverthehill · 06/12/2015 19:30

Just going to catch up wit tonight's episode and I got this
www.bbc.co.uk/radio/programmes/a-z/by/The%20archers/player

Confused
AnnieNoMouse · 06/12/2015 19:30

And surely at most all Pip had to do was dump Rex at the hospital and then get home for milking, rather than causing David and Matt to be totally inconvenienced.

TopOfTheCliff · 06/12/2015 19:32

That wouldn't have advanced the plot though. That would just have been sensible!

FloraDiesEarly · 06/12/2015 19:39

Have just listened to Friday's episode with Charlie and Adam in the pub. There was a missed opportunity for Adam's q of "Do you want me?" to be answered with "Still very much so" by Charlie Wink Grin

FloraDiesEarly · 06/12/2015 19:43

*DID you want me?

FinestGrundyTurkey · 06/12/2015 21:23

elephant it dies that a lot

Something to do with how you type it (unintelligent BBC search function Hmm)

Best to find it via the schedule

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06r1c2f

FinestGrundyTurkey · 06/12/2015 21:24

does that, tsk
