I was Angry listening on LA today. I knew it would be a boy though. Is it the same dopey midwife who made her first home visit they saw yesterday or was it a private one.

I thought the Fairbrethren sounded a bit non plussed when Rob was withering "I've booked a private scan"

Do we think Rob and Lizzie will rekindle their love over the unleashed calendar girl boobies??

WipsGlitter · 04/12/2015 19:33

Roy not Rob. Although he was definitely sniffing round her the other day with his cheese trolley.

Bea · 04/12/2015 19:34

Dear god!! That spaceman song by bloody Chris de burgh is bad enough to listen to during Christmas time!!... Nevermind having to put up with it in the archers!

Na na na na na na na na na nana neeaagghhh!!!!

Confused
LillianGish · 04/12/2015 19:34

David noticed Hellin seemed a bit downcast.

PseudoBadger · 04/12/2015 20:15

Have the SWs never heard actual people speak?
"Matthew, after milking, you know that pub in the village, The Bull?"
"Erm... yeah, the one your uncle runs?"
No, one of the other pubs in Ambridge Hmm

Gruach I can't take the credit for spotting it, I heard it on dum tee dum. Just sad curious enough to listen again ! I haven't listened to see if they cut something else to fit it in, I'm not quite that sad! Maybe they add a few seconds of dialogue every week but it's not normally so crucial ?

FinestGrundyTurkey · 04/12/2015 21:30

This wasn't the same one they lost George's chat with Will from, was it? Wink

orangina · 04/12/2015 21:39

De-lurking as an occasional poster to join in the thread. Actually, I can't really join in, as I cannot BEAR to listen to the HellRob storyline unfold as it actually makes me feel anxious….

Blush

So glad to be able to follow it on this thread. We ALL hate Rob in this house (including dd aged 10…). Uuuurrrrgggghhhhhhh

FinestGrundyTurkey · 04/12/2015 21:52

small hijack

orangina, are you the sister of a former very regular poster with legal career & 4 kids? Smile

orangina · 04/12/2015 22:07

Yes, that's me! Smile

orangina · 04/12/2015 22:08

(Do I know who you are FinestGrundyTurkey?!?!)

FinestGrundyTurkey · 04/12/2015 22:21

Well I am an oldie though have had a few other names :-) I'm glad you haven't changed yours!

One of my best memories of your sister is the Judge Flounce unveiling - one of her finest hours!

FinestGrundyTurkey · 04/12/2015 22:24

Will send you a message to terminate hijack Blush

The less I've listened, the more I've posted (though still not prolific). DP still studiously avoids the Archers slot to ring, I knew Charlie had a crisis of some sort because he'd heard the last few seconds I think. His (adult and in her own house) DD still listens, but is as aghast as we all are on here.

Most odd about the extra dialogue.

Dipankrispaneven · 05/12/2015 07:19

Why would Matthew tell David that he and Pip will sort out the herd? He's only meant to be there another week, he'll hardly have time.

Gruach · 05/12/2015 07:37

So Pip and David messed up the cows' routine while Ruth was living on the mororway and now they're getting a stranger to advise them on how to change things even more? If Ruth does ever come back she won't recognise her herd.

Matthew managed to get in a dig at "Tobes." He's already weirdly overinfested in Brookfield (Pip), I doubt he's going anywhere soon ...

Gruach · 05/12/2015 07:44

I'm not happy that it looks as if we're going to be treated to a pure EE Christmas wedding disaster with Rob and Charlie rolling on the ground outside the register office fighting over who gets to stride in and stop the ceremony first.

Xmas Angry
StubbleTurnips · 05/12/2015 07:50

It made me laugh when Matthew said the cows are quiet! I did think, that's cos it's turned into EE and production keep forgetting to add realistic countryside noises in.

It's a cover up.

Gruach · 05/12/2015 07:55
Xmas Grin
Travelledtheworld · 05/12/2015 08:26

Awful scripting and awkward conversations last episode.
Cringe.

ppeatfruit · 05/12/2015 08:31

Well Ruth WANTED to effing go, she only has the SW to blame Grin.

Ref. awkward conversations; at least one of you moaners posters will be happy that they've remembered to carry on the awkwardness between Kenton and Dave. I noticed he pointedly did NOT ask his brother about his broken arm Grin

Gruach · 05/12/2015 08:39

Oh, ok. A BOOP for Pip sending Tobes on his way while she had a grown up conversation.

(And the opposite of a BOOP for SWs tweeting about scripts for future episodes ...)

JessieMcJessie · 05/12/2015 08:42

"Dum tee dum podcast" ? Where do I find this? And off immediately to listen to the secret extra omnibus dialogue. Sad, me?

Matthew is contracted for more than 2 weeks dipan, I think that he'll be needed till Dave's arm out of plaster. What is worrying me is that there has been no mention whatsoever of them calling Ruth to discuss appointing him...

Re Louiza Helen actress never having met Henry, that's right, she said it at the Radio Times Festival event. that was the same one where SOC said he saw Helen as an Ibsen heroine, and I noticed recently that Lynda described the part in Calendar Girls that she wanted Helen to play as being Ibsen- esque.

Gruach · 05/12/2015 09:21

JMcJ I must admit I went straight to iplayer!

It is very odd. And could hardly be a mistake; such a specific, crucial bit of dialogue carefully excised from the weekday episode rather than dropping off the end. Xmas Hmm What are they up to??

ppeatfruit · 05/12/2015 09:34

Jessie They are keeping the broken arm from Ruth that's why they haven't asked her Xmas Hmm.
