Travelledtheworld · 27/08/2015 19:17

I actually feel sick......

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/08/2015 19:18

My working hypothesis is that whatever form of contraception they've been using wasn't in place and he was proceeding anyway. She'll rationalise it all away in the morning. Sad Angry

Gruach · 27/08/2015 19:19

A little "old fashioned" bodice ripping Gasp0.

At least that's what I assume.

elephantoverthehill · 27/08/2015 19:19

Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuckity yuck.

BertrandRussell · 27/08/2015 19:19

Jesus. What did that "Rob?" mean? That was awful!

Travelledtheworld · 27/08/2015 19:20

I assumed he was dropping his pants right there in the living room ?

BertrandRussell · 27/08/2015 19:20

And he'll be tracking her periods, won't he?

Travelledtheworld · 27/08/2015 19:22

Bertrandrussell yes afraid so.

tsonlyme · 27/08/2015 19:22

Gross. But yeah, where did he go and why?

EBearhug · 27/08/2015 19:22

OMG. I'd rather have had a replay of the Sid & Jolene shower scene. At least they were both willing partners. I don't want to hear the whole conception, especially when it's like this.

R4 · 27/08/2015 19:22

What was all that about?
Rob wants babies. Helen says no because she's too busy running organics. However she then puts going to playgroup ahead of meeting the designers. So ... does Rob think that when a lady says no she means yes?

Gruach · 27/08/2015 19:25

I'm certain this will go the way of early EastEnders - woman keeps unconventionally arrived at baby but aborts husband's. Secretly. And is then found out. (Was that Michelle?)

So a neat reverse of the previous wife keeping a baby that isn't the husband's child.

AlanPacino · 27/08/2015 19:26

Eek he's forced himself on her :(. That was my reading of the 'Rob' not that he had got up to fill the dishwasher. Poor Helen. :( I might be wrong though.

R4 · 27/08/2015 19:36

Abuse via the medium of salmon. Again.
Do you think that one of the SW was force-fed it as a child and has ishoos?

Northernlurker · 27/08/2015 20:17

That was really horrible. Do we think he ripped the new dress?

Gruach · 27/08/2015 20:21

Yes.

And not even through an excess of passion. He would want to make sure it was unwearable for the opera.

Northernlurker · 27/08/2015 20:47

You knew as soon as it came out of the bag that it was doomed.

Poor Helen. Tonight was like a master class in red flags in relationships. He basically told us exactly what he always wanted and she showed us why she is so vulnerable to it.

CuttedUpPear · 27/08/2015 20:48

That last scene was so obtuse! At least the last few seconds-what was that noise supposed to be?
And why did Helen say "Rob?" as if he'd suddenly left the room?

I do realise that it is supposed to read as an unconsenting sex scene but those two things just muddied the issue.

Scarydinosaurs · 27/08/2015 21:03

Because he ripped her dress?

Scarydinosaurs · 27/08/2015 21:15

Sorry, posted too soon.

I was replying to the question of why she called his name at the end- I thought it was because he ripped her dress and was going to go ahead and have sex with her downstairs and not upstairs.

I think he will say she made him angry because of asking him about Jess.

DSClarke · 27/08/2015 23:08

Wtf?

I will be really really cross if the SW just drop this one like they have let the knob stuff drift before.

Sinkingfeeling · 28/08/2015 00:51

He plied her with alcohol and then raped her :(

xiaoguhai · 28/08/2015 01:04

All these theories are quite possible and likely but just listened again and that questioning cry of 'Rob' by Helen could be read as Rob collapsing unconscious eg a heart attack? (or very far fetched a suicide attempt with poisoned salmon for them both?! - its late imagination running wild!)

Travelledtheworld · 28/08/2015 07:27

The thought that Rob had had a heart attack did cross my mind too.....
But I think this story has more mileage than that.

Stickerrocks · 28/08/2015 08:07

Listened again. I don't think anything has happened to Rob, but Helen was surprised that her was being so "masterful", especially when she had admitted vulnerabilities to him.
