Haven't heard last night's yet. However, given the emphasis on Pip and the future of the farm, I have been wondering, just vaguely, about David's health.

EBearhug · 15/08/2015 20:33

Jill was worrying about David's health with him doing so much recently, too. And when it comes to a head, it will probably involve Kenton in some way.

smink · 15/08/2015 21:37

The owman ks going to live in Rickyard.was mentioned last wk. HP wanted to go home because she knows she canmot live there anymore and wanted to sit in her chair and look out her window one last time Sad

Pip out HP in I say. She can drive Jill batty with back seat bakingGrin and they can hire whatsername xw of hwmnbn to care.

ppeatfruit · 15/08/2015 21:49

Kenton is sliding towards the publican's disease of alcoholism unless he stops the 'hair of the dog' mentality pretty quickly.

TopazRocks · 15/08/2015 22:12

I thought that too, ppeat. I was also thinking the offspring of Phil and Jill aren't the sharpest tools in the box. They are all kind of dim in certain ways.

smink · 16/08/2015 08:13

that's the cowman is not kentons other woman. Although thinking about it that is where he may well go next

ppeatfruit · 16/08/2015 08:47

IMHO and E that's very true to life Topaz We 're all a mix of bright and dim.

There's Kenton's Uncle the first Jack the publican who was an alky. So there's a genetic leaning towards it.

Not really ARealPipperoo Lilian is helping them out with the unforeseen crumbling foundations. She's a woman ain't she?

I hadn't thought about it much till now, but you're right, Pipperoo, it isn't at all clear what Kenton's position is in the business. Surely Jolene hasn't been daft enough to give him a formal share? I suppose she treats him as joint manager and (informally) joint owner, but if they split up I don't think that would be the position, unless a lot has happened that we've not heard. He had no money to put into The Bull - maybe that's part of the reason he's so angry about the backtracking on the decision to sell Brookfield - if he'd put £1 million+ into The Bull he would have been part owner for real.

NotdeadyetBOING · 16/08/2015 10:55

Anyway, what has happened to Lilian? I am craving a bit of Lilian SL. Ideally something that doesn't focus on her alleged 'face lift' (come on SWs… botox is not the same as a face lift and wouldn't have made her look weird - which do you mean???).

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 16/08/2015 11:31

What an arsehole David is! Only Mummies who can make me coffee and coo over how tired I must be get to live at Brookfield! No other Mummies! And no, you can't drive up in that state, or get her things out of your car in that state, or make a decision (which I will determine) in that state... Mummy, Mummy, Roof wants her Mummy here and it's not fa-ir. Dick.

BertrandRussell · 16/08/2015 12:10

Do you think it's that, Nit? Could it be "oh, shit, if she comes to live here Ruth will try to do all the caring for her as well as everything else she does and that's just not possible!" I can see Ruth saying "mum doesn't need carers- she's got me".

What I don't understand is why the idea appears to have come as such a surprise to them both- the reason for The Great Move North was because they had all discussed H moving to Brookfield and she refused.

Scarydinosaurs · 16/08/2015 12:26

Pip out and HP in, common sense, surely?

Though, I do think she will SOTMC before we get a chance to get her bags unpacked.

DoctorTwo · 16/08/2015 13:05

Timothy Watson is superb as Knob, when he does his menacing voice it makes my skin crawl. And not in a good way.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 16/08/2015 16:26

Well, Bert, maybe that's what he is thinking but then he needs to have a little think also about the fact that he's refused to hire a herdsman in case Ruth starts shagging him again! If the stuff she does on the farm is so key, but her ailing mother also needs looking after (and is going to necessitate loads of driving Up North anyway), then the sensible thing to do would be lighten the load of her farm stuff for a bit.

However it's spun, I can't see that David is being anything other than wildly unreasonable, and Jill is cooing in a self-satisfied manner that makes me want to ram her fucking cardomom cake down her throat! He decided they couldn't move at the 11th hour because Cooing Mama showed him an old toy, and now he's behaving as though Heather's ill health is the very last thing they were expecting to deal with, and everything Ruth tries to do about it is a colossal inconvenience. Can't wait for Jill's first stroke, and let's see what his proposed solution is to that!

NotdeadyetBOING · 16/08/2015 16:59

There hasn't been a conclusion yet though has there Nit? Leave off Dave I like him Grin.

TeenyfTroon · 16/08/2015 18:27

I'd rather have ten Pips (and I'm certainly not keen on her) than the new HP with that bloody awful accent. I just can't stand it. A Geordie Mrs Brown. Aaaaargh!

RockNRollNerd · 16/08/2015 18:47

I have a horrible feeling Pip is going to get Rob's job at Berrow once Charlie fires him. It will be the compromise, she gets to play with robots but still be at Brookfield to pick up some of the slack while Ruth is looking after Heather at a location as yet to be confirmed.

Northernlurker · 16/08/2015 19:23

I found Ruth very annoying tonight. Did I hear right and she thinks the ideal location for Heather is in the room (upstairs) that Jill is currently in?

Is she planning to throw Jill out then? Shock

And when are they going to mention this to Jill?

Why isn't she talking about a barn/stable they can convert in to a small all on one level flat?

Not to mention exactly HOW she thinks she can take care of her and work. Given the pigs ear she made of running the house as well as being c ow woman extrordinaire in the past you would think this would have clicked with her.

I get that the SW want to 'do' caring for elderly parents and there are aspects of the story that are very convincing but this is just daft.

I wonder how long it will take for somebody to mention ' I say Ruth (you numpty) what about getting your mum a room at the Laurels? It's charming and you can see her whenever you want but the rest of us won't have to hear a peep from her'

BertrandRussell · 16/08/2015 19:27

When she talked about Jill having options what did she mean?
