I can't resist alliteration Wink

I also was a bit bemused at the idea that going off for a long holiday was the answer for Caroline and Oliver, particularly given that the background seemed to be that, unknown to us, there's been a whole crisis going on with bad online hotel reviews. You wouldn't think that disappearing was really the answer to that. Wasn't it last time they went away that they had the crisis with Joe's accident? And was it around then that they had that business with the fraudulent hotel inspector?

oddfodd · 09/07/2015 13:48

Oh I know that Kenton's always thought of David as dull and possibly envied that stability but devious and manipulative is turning it up a notch too far I think.

Completely agree that the maize storyline doesn't make a lot of sense. And surely Adam would have said 'Hang on a minute! Where was our friendship and loyalty when the contract was up for renewal?' That's very disappointing about the timing too DFW - the one thing (I think) they used to get right was the agriculture.

And going away when the Grundys are still ensconced, there's major building work going on and TripAdvisor hates you seems all sorts of madness. And it's holiday time - isn't this one of their busy periods?

Pip, I want to kill you. I hope Otto is at the show and squashes you.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/07/2015 14:01

They are going to be killed in a terrible boating accident on lake Garda and leave grange farm to the grundys and grey gables to Roy

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/07/2015 14:04

Grey Gables Trip Advisor reviews

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/07/2015 14:09

Some gems there.

We loved this hotel, but found it impossible to book for more than a week. The establishment seems to operate from Sunday to Friday only, while events on a Saturday were mentioned but impossible to attend.

Stayed here with my husband for a romantic weekend and what a wonderful hotel and surroundings. Absolutely no sign whatsoever of old gentlemen in pajamas and certainly no strange goings on at all. Everyone is wonderful and the place is extremely well run and Roy is marvelous....

...p.s, let me know if I left anything out Mr Tucker and I hope this is the sort of review you were talking about over breakfast.
oddfodd · 09/07/2015 14:22

Oops Adam did mention the contract to Charlie. Clearly wasn't listening properly last night

ppeatfruit · 09/07/2015 14:37

Oddfodd I think Otto might be sausages by now. Grin

Pip's not so bad, she's quite frisky though "I'm free and going to shag who I like, no strings " That's me translating for her. Feebs sounds more responsible. Bless her.

ppeatfruit · 09/07/2015 14:38

I cannot believe that Jenny didn't lose her virginity till she was 21 or so, this was the 60s fgs Grin

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/07/2015 15:13

Pip really is that bad

mummytime · 09/07/2015 15:47

The 60s were far more conventional than you might think, especially in small villages. But I'm not sure Jenny says she conceived Adam the first time she had sex.
I was at Uni in the 80s and there were quite a few virgins around.

Golfhotelromeofoxtrot · 09/07/2015 15:51

I thought the Phoebe/Jenny talk was excellent. And I needed the history lesson!

Pip is so desperate, she sounds pathetic.

ppeatfruit · 09/07/2015 16:49

I was there mummytime Grin Dsis and I were a bit young for some of it though (We weren't allowed didn't have the funds to go to pop concerts) but it was not conventional in Nth London that's for sure! I was never into the psychedelic side though.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/07/2015 19:10

So they've called it hollowtree goose farm. They will never get rid of them.

And Toby is a prize twat. He so thinks he can keep the land by seducing pip. And his business plan is also crap. Spend spend spend

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/07/2015 19:16

Yep, prize twat

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/07/2015 19:19

The horn made me think he is Tobes of Tobe Hall.

Gruach · 09/07/2015 19:24

Didn't I say that possession of land would be Pip's major attraction from Trouble's point of view?

He sounded so insincere when he was buttering her up at the pub.Angry

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 09/07/2015 20:22

Not listened fully to Tuesday night's ep but heard JD and Pheebs yesterday - Not sure that Alex and she will make it up - hope they do
But really posting to say OMG they are doing Culvert works in my village! Grin

LillianGish · 09/07/2015 20:41

WHen is someone going to tell Kate that if she is so keen on being a good mother she has left two motherless children in South Africa? Hard to believe that they don't even warrant a mention from either their grandmother or their half-sister.

CuttedUpPear · 09/07/2015 21:31

Yes Lillian it really sets my teeth on edge that Kate's other 2 are never mentioned, particularly as the contents of her blancmange-shaped life plans are so on topic right now.

Buck up, SWs.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/07/2015 21:50

we have been told that her ex and in laws have turned the kids against her so we can't possibly expect Kate to mention them.

i mean they will turn up as troubled teens in about 5 years after their dad has been killed in a car crash (and then he will turn up in 15 years after having faked his own death)

Don't you watch eastenders??? I can't believe how uncultured some of you guys are....

ForSaleChesterDraws · 09/07/2015 22:23

So what's Toby Fairbrother's big secret? Where is his fake rugby practice?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/07/2015 22:27

i think he does have rugby but pip was obviously right that it is evening only and rex was covering up for his brothers lie

he was probably shagging the women he thinks will be able to do all this viral marketing and other bullshit he was on about

the maths doesn't really work on their business

Gruach · 09/07/2015 22:53

BYOS You have killed off Lucas? We can never be friends.Grin

Jenny would have been Facetiming her SA grandchildren and their other grandparents every day. I absolutely refuse to believe her love for Noli and Sipho would be any less than her love for Phoebe - and I'm rather sorry the editor is happy to give the impression that Kate's SA children matter less.

I'm assuming TobyTrouble has an ex + a mini-Trouble (or two ...) in Brighton. He was probably visiting them.

Gruach - I've only 'faked his own death' killed Lucas!!

I also struggle to believe Jenny isn't more attentive to the other two

i don't think Toby is married but he obviously has a wardrobe stuffed with skeletons

and he's a twat
