Can you imagine the utter toe-curling humiliation of having your mother, grandmother and great-grandmother discussing your sex-life, at the age of 17?

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 17/07/2015 22:51

Bloody good job Phoebe had scuttled off beforehand

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 17/07/2015 22:55

and I was honestly expecting Peggy's first reaction to be "well, Kate, it's about time one of you learned about contraception before getting pregnant"

Wrong again

ErrolTheDragon · 17/07/2015 23:17

At least after Jenny's response Peggy did seem to be starting to see the point. She is capable of recognising her mistakes so maybe Kate will get short shrift if she tries that poisonous shit stirring again.

CuttedUpPear · 18/07/2015 07:15

Charlie is bisexual so Adam's sister would be a fine substitute for the real deal.

TG nailed that episode in just a few sentences!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 18/07/2015 07:18

Could we really handle another sibling love triangle?

Isn't Debbie in a long term relationship with some Hungarian dude?

nigelslaterfan · 18/07/2015 22:07

Aldridge Apocalypse

That's more like it! Family rows.

But oh God if Ruth isn't killed soon by some merciful disaster I will have to switch off til she dies.

cheminotte · 18/07/2015 22:32

Still behind with my listening. Thanks for the Nancy link. Do we think she's a Mumsnetter?

Scarydinosaurs · 19/07/2015 10:02

Can't be! She's on Kate's side!!

KingscoteStaff · 19/07/2015 11:21

Yes yes to Helen sounding like Clare in the Community - my exact thought.

Whole episode had a feel of fast paced Ayckbourn. Loved it.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 19/07/2015 11:35

Whoa Friday was vintage stuff. Best episode for ages.

It was like Noises Off with extra cringing. Debbie -v- Charlie was fab, I particularly liked his honest climb down admitting he'd been so rude to email her. Can anyone remember why he sacked her? I would love a Debbie/Charlie thing. No chance of course, but they sounded like they had good potential.

Where did Jennifer find Brian, does anyone remember?

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 19/07/2015 11:36

Nancy's about 85. I doubt if she MNs Grin

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 19/07/2015 17:31

I have to say I am loving the way Kate says Darling to Pheebs in exactly the same way as JennyDarling does
I am enjoying it at the moment.

minkGrundy · 19/07/2015 19:05

"Don't want to miss Gareth at the welly wanging" Grin scything contest.

Gruach · 19/07/2015 19:13

"Hello Tom ..."

And Debbie and Charlie should really get a room ...

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 19/07/2015 19:13

Kate is going to be FURIOUS

minkGrundy · 19/07/2015 19:20

Adam being jealous Hmm

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 19/07/2015 19:31

What happened? Has Charlie snogged another Aldridge?

selsigfach · 19/07/2015 19:38

Kirsty sounded really bitter there (as well she might). Reckon it would have annoyed Tom more if she'd done a Brenda and swanned over looking fabulous, all happy with her sexy Poldark.

Hadron21 · 19/07/2015 19:59

I had forgotten how much I love Debbie. Debbie and Brian's relationship is so odd but I kinda like it. Both are brilliant actors.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/07/2015 00:04

So lily has a (mimed) crush on cousin Dan, Kirsty is flaunting a handsome new swain and Debbie and Charlie have exchanged cards. But my BOOP is for Maurice as the Black Death.

Gruach · 20/07/2015 01:59

Oh god yes! I was singing hallelujahs for the mention of Maurice.

Definite BOOP for this week's SW.

I am LOVING all the Aldridge siblings' dealings with Charlie. And the four generation discussion of poor Phoebe's sex life was hilarious and excruciating - beautifully written.

Life with the Aldridges is always so much funnier and more dramatic AND better acted than any other Ambridge family.

Just wish we could hear a bit more from Pusscat.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/07/2015 14:23

bb, Maurice is the bloke who turns Tom's pigs into sausages etc. He also dispenses cynical advice about marriage.
