It's all getting rather delicious. I feel sorry for Kenton the fool

Helen! You fool!

Bea · 27/02/2015 19:13

Pat's going to blow a gasket! She's only audible to dogs!

Bea · 27/02/2015 19:13

Hoorah! Usha!!

Bea · 27/02/2015 19:14

Sorry! Am I the only one listening tonight?? Where are you all!!

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 27/02/2015 19:14

I'm here but as usual trying to do 10 things at once Smile

Bea · 27/02/2015 19:15

Just move Heather down for goodness sake! Why is this not an option? I'm sure there was a reason but I can't remember!

GypsyFloss · 27/02/2015 19:16

Time to move on Ruth. Please.

Bea · 27/02/2015 19:16

WWFD - ahh! Thank goodness it's just not just me here!

Timeandtune · 27/02/2015 19:18

The return of the Sausage King and his wise business advice. He' ll be giving Ted talks next .

Ehhn · 27/02/2015 19:18

Heatherpet doesn't want to leave her community...

Bluestocking · 27/02/2015 19:20

Why aye, Bea pet, Heather didn't want to move awa' from Prudhoe, she has all her friends there.

The fact that her only daughter is the co-CEO of an essentially non-moveable medium-sized family enterprise which supports not only the family but goodness knows how many other people didn't seem to cut any ice with her at all.

Of course, she would have been very wary about being under the same roof as Jill, after the Great Marmalade Wars. Jill believes in revenge being a dish best served cold, and Heather wouldn't have felt safe eating anything at all that came out of the Brookfield Aga.

Timeandtune · 27/02/2015 19:20

MyPeggy looks like an Ambridge version of Nancy Reagan. Always underweight with steely determination to diet and look groomed. In an English country Viyella type way.

Thesuperswimmingdolphin · 27/02/2015 19:21

Dear, dear - does Ruth think her mum is actually immortal? Of course she will die at some point!

I though Usha was fantastic tonight. So lovely to hear her - and how wise and tactful. The temptation would be to plunge in and say 'Look Roof you muppet you've a good man there who has screwed up a bit on this issue but who forgave you inspecting the tonsils of the cowman and nearly, nearly shagging him!' But instead sensible solicitor/ vicar's wife prevailed.

minkGrundy · 27/02/2015 19:22

Heather does not want to move. Partly I think because she thinks it is not necessary. All this being near mim is mostly in Rooth's head.

But Rooth that is how you choose "mim I cannit leeeeave Deevid and me familly. You'll have to moove to Brookfield"
"Naw pet am awreeet where Ah am"

There we go. Problem solved.

Pat was super. Hellin ffs!!! What bloody decade has she transported to?

Pat should have said "you do realise we won't be paying you any more. You do realise if the shop goes you have no income. You do realise this is not looking after your family" (she likes to say you do realise)

And sounds like Tom has departed from the soil association. No more organics. Queue another P&T we worked so hard speech.

Halsall · 27/02/2015 19:22

HeatherPet 'refuses to be any trouble' but is somehow simultaneously determined to stay in her own home. There's been very little talk of home helps, carers, or any of the other means that could have been used to resolve all this.

But selling a pretty large family farm and relocating hundreds of miles to buy a property that required massive additional investment and significant building/repair works always seemed a ludicrously over-the-top solution.

minkGrundy · 27/02/2015 19:25

We do all worry about poor H being stuck with Rob.
tbh now and again we should feel sorry for him bring stuck with her. She is awful.

Alsoflamingo · 27/02/2015 19:27

Absurd melodrama. No one asking Ruth to 'choose between' her family and her mother. Clumsy plot devicitis.

Bea · 27/02/2015 19:28

Ahhh! Thank you all for the Heatherpet explanation!!
For goodness sake! It's all guffins isn't it!
Yes! Thank god for the sensible Usha and her sage words... I loved the veiled "we all make mistakes and hurt the ones we love" speech!
ie. .. You almost ruined this family with the whole Sam affair! You owe deevid big time!!!!

PseudoBadger · 27/02/2015 19:31

Mink I've often said that Rob has NO IDEA what he's taken on with Helen...

This thread consistently produces excellent turns of phrase. I find it to be among the wittiest on MN. Well done everyone!

MollieCoddler · 27/02/2015 19:36

I actually found the shop analysis quite convincing, shops like that go under all the time.

I did look at the Peggy actress online once and she looked much as I imagined

madsmam · 27/02/2015 19:40

My best friend's baby was the double of granny Giles. It's a measure of our friendship that I could tell him so too.

nauticant · 27/02/2015 19:40

Looking at the characters online is like a 6 year old inadvertently finding "Father Christmas is a fictitious character" after doing a search on the Internet.

EssexMummy123 · 27/02/2015 19:46

Ruth used the b word

Bluestocking · 27/02/2015 19:47

Which b word? Wasn't concentrating properly.
