As tribute to the best SL at the moment...

OP posts:
BuildYourOwnSnowman · 04/02/2015 13:32

Rob used the word bitch a few weeks back. I can't trust it now so don't listen if the kids are still up. Which is annoying!

ErrolTheDragon · 04/02/2015 13:40

I was thinking something along the lines of florentina re Rob, except that it's that somehow he knows he's infertile. All his talk about wanting children (first he said this to Helen re Jess, over a year ago, said Jess didn't want to IIRC, then with Helen herself) is just his usual games. But if he had to take the test and it came back with that finding, he really wouldn't be able to cope with that diminution of his manhood (in his eyes) and it would remove a lever for keeping Helen at home. But then again, more likely he's just a nasty man in denial re Ethan.

Littleturkish · 04/02/2015 13:45

All caught up now!

Jenifer gets HEAPS of BOOP points from me for putting Kate in her place.

Roy and Phoebe must be having a reconciliation soon, then Hayley can come back, and ALL will be right again.

Rob is such a prick. Helen didn't eat lunch- but doesn't seem to be deliberately restricting- is he going to use her history of ED to try and persuade others that she needs him and his support to manipulate her into staying?

ErrolTheDragon · 04/02/2015 13:49

I don't think TA has ever been entirely kiddie-compliant. R4 in general doesn't claim to be, though of course many of the comedies it's all innuendo rather than explicit, twas ever thus since Round the Horne etc. I don't watch TV soaps, do they never use those B words?

Swannykazoo · 04/02/2015 13:56

Marking place with a time honoured "hello you two"

BitOutOfPractice · 04/02/2015 14:10

I notice when, on the phone to Jess, Nob says he knows Ethan isn't his "because he knows" not because they hadn't had sex at a time to make it possible.

CuttedUpPear · 04/02/2015 14:37

I am very proud to report 17yo DS hopping round the kitchen during this afternoon's repeat going "Cook your own dinner, Rob!" and laughing in glee when Henry suggested pizza.

DS then pronounced Rob old-fashioned, said it's obvious he is the father of Jess's child, and went back upstairs to play computer games. Smile

DadDadDad · 04/02/2015 14:48

Cutted - your last remark got me thinking: is there a market for an Archers-themed computer game? I was thinking of a cross between Hay Day and The Sims.

But in the meantime, in best I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue style, what games would be popular with Archers fans?

I'll start: Cow of Duty

DadDadDad · 04/02/2015 14:52

Plants vs Grundies

I'll show myself out, shall I...

OldBeanbagz · 04/02/2015 14:56

Cutted You have made me believe that there's hope for my children who are at the moment reluctant listeners.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 04/02/2015 14:58

The Last of Us, surely?

funambulist · 04/02/2015 15:17

My children (two teens and a pre-teen) laugh at me for listening, but it is always on just after 7pm whether we are at home or in the car, so they are more or less forced to listen. DS2 often hums the theme tune and despite the professed lack of interest I do talk (well perhaps rant at is more accurate) to them about the programme as in "I can't believe what Evil Rob has done now!" I suspect that they have a pretty good working knowledge of what is going on and wonder whether they might choose to listen when they are older.

Littleturkish · 04/02/2015 15:32

bitoutofpractice I've been frustrated with that too!

But she also doesn't say- "well, what did you think was going to happen after x night when x happened" but I suppose they want to keep us guessing!

ErrolTheDragon · 04/02/2015 15:57

Games? Dont really know any. Maybe a bovine-inspired version, 'Cattle Crush'?

ErrolTheDragon · 04/02/2015 16:01

Of course for some of the residents it would be a toss-up needing no modification - The Unbelievable Truth vs Would I Lie to You?

ZeroFunDame · 04/02/2015 16:15

Grain of Britain?

Not sure that's made it to PS4 yet.

OldBeanbagz · 04/02/2015 16:21

Angry Pigs?

I think that was an actual game that followed on from Angry Birds.

DadDadDad · 04/02/2015 16:27

Assassins' Weed

NelsonsWineBar · 04/02/2015 16:47

Borchester Crescent

ppeatfruit · 04/02/2015 16:50

I just posted on the old thread to say thank you to Psuedo for this one and said thanks for the explanation of the song to Zero yes I know it of course Grin.

Good work Lilian Gish Grin

Another BOOP ep.; hows sheik Rob going to react to 2 of his harem disobeying him ? Notice how he said hello to Tina? I bet she wouldn't feed him take away pizza!!!!!

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 04/02/2015 16:57

I don't know much about computer games but how about Halo You Two?

Given the pub -> flats situation, how about Settlers of Catan-dfiddle?

Minimammoth · 04/02/2015 16:59

Just caught up. Boop point for Joe and Bert, I was expecting to hear a ' me old pal me old beauty' in there.
Helrob very well played, I have no idea where it's going, but sometimes can't bear it. Robs 'what's for dinner' whatever you desire oh master.
Arghh!

CuttedUpPear · 04/02/2015 17:24

The trick with indoctrinating DCs is to schedule feeding time at 2pm and 7pm. Mine have associated getting their appetites sated with listening to TA for a couple of decades now.

LillianGish · 04/02/2015 17:59

What about Swinecraft?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 04/02/2015 17:59

Quite, Cutted. My mum had a firm "15 minutes of silence" rule which coincided with my parents finishing off cooking dinner, thereby a) making us listen and b) preventing any "I'm huuungry" type noises.
