This is too much for me now. I need to meditate.

Go Lynda!!

Shallishanti · 22/01/2015 19:14

well at least he's not chucking out the toy farm....
(is there some kind od sympathetic magic going on???)

Shallishanti · 22/01/2015 19:14

oh no!
he is !

ZeroFunDame · 22/01/2015 19:22

BOOP Lynda!

And (actually) NewTom evidently trying to familiarise himself with how Tom speaks.

R4 · 22/01/2015 22:21

WAL points:
I'm not keen on David's personality transplant. He's always been a bit of a hothead but not nasty, like he's been to Jill and Lynda.

Similarly, Kate has always been self-centred in an oblivious way but not nasty, like she was about Roy tonight.

Icimoi · 22/01/2015 22:32

My recollection is that Kate has been distinctly nasty. Mind you, an extra layer was probably added tonight by virtue of her being pissed.

I do hope there's a scene where Kate realises that her new friends aren't hanging out with her because she is dahn wiv de kids but because they find her funny or view her as a cash cow.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/01/2015 22:40

I think David's behaviour is supposed to indicate a serious case of cold feet and internal panic

Kate is looking like she has a drinking problem. Could you imagine having her as your mum! Bet phoebe walks in on her shagging jake and this drives her back to her dad.

And would students really make the effort to go to the bull in the middle of nowhere?

R4 · 22/01/2015 22:48

Also, isn't Feebs in Lower Sixth and therefore under age? Most landlords are quite hot on ID these days so I would have expected Kenton to say something, especially with Harrison lurking around.
Yup: looked it up and her DoB is 28.06.98 so she's only 16½.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/01/2015 22:53

If she isn't drinking alcohol an is with a parent is that allowed?

R4 · 22/01/2015 23:02

You may be right on the law. So we think that Kate was being responsible and only buying her soft drinks?

PhaedraIsMyName · 22/01/2015 23:04

Kate really has no redeeming features has she?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/01/2015 23:04

Ha! She was probably spiking her drink. She is such a bad role model and I hope phoebes academics don't suffer!

R4 · 22/01/2015 23:07

Well we know the law that no female in Ambridge is allowed to have, or use, a brain.Sad

PhaedraIsMyName · 22/01/2015 23:36

2 BOOP points for Tom- one for basically telling Kate to fuck off and one for talking Roy out of making a scene.

I'm feeling very sorry for Roy.

Icimoi · 23/01/2015 07:36

But we were back to self-pitying Roy last night. The way he assumed it was all about him was all in that mode; also the fact that he couldn't work out that creating a scene would only make him look even more of an idiot.

guineapiglet · 23/01/2015 08:34

I recall Kate as always being totally up herself, selfish, opinionated, a rebel( but one who always used Mummy and Daddy's money and influence) so a selective rebel. I can't stand her - but I think Feebs will see the light and then maybe we won't see Kate for dust. Or true to EE type story line, Kate and Roy will argue, reconcile temporarily for Feeb's sake end up shagging on the kitchen floor as Mike walks in with new viewers for the farm... Something spicey and unbelievable like that.

My BOOP points would go to Lynda for telling David home truths... Wasn't he like a little kid literally throwing his toys out of his pramGrin

R4 · 23/01/2015 08:52

Lynda is always a BOOP. How does she do it? Has Carole got some blackmail material on the SW that stops them from mucking up her character? Does she attend editorial meetings where she drops little hints about what Lyndy might do next? Or does she just sniff and draw breath in that way of hers when they have the temerity to present her with a below-par script?
Smile

Yep - I hope phoebe gets a job in the city and ends up CEO of a ftse100 company

enochroot · 23/01/2015 09:44

Sadly, at this rate, I see Phoebe moving back in with Roy and keeping house for him.
I want Hayley to get a grip on this situation. Isn't she legally Phoebe's adoptive mother?

trevortrevorslattery · 23/01/2015 11:10

Why didn't Roy go after Phoebe when she slipped out of the pub? even just to make sure she was ok getting home alone!

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 23/01/2015 11:22

Haha BOOP "I don't really do possessions, Lynda"

[[https://www.gov.uk/alcohol-young-people-law Law]] is that "if you’re 16 or 17 and accompanied by an adult, you can drink (but not buy) beer, wine or cider with a meal."

R4 · 23/01/2015 11:33

According to the beeb and gov.uk, "Children under 16 can go anywhere in a pub as long as they are supervised by an adult, but cannot have any alcoholic drinks." I presume that applies to 16 and 17 y.o. too?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 23/01/2015 12:08

See my link, R4. 16 & 17 year olds can drink some alcoholic drinks in pubs and restaurants as long as it's with a meal. But given that they were having peanuts I doubt they were eating. Plus poor Phoebs just seems constantly knackered and more likely to want an espresso than a pint.

ZeroFunDame · 23/01/2015 12:13

So, Phoebe got fabulous GCSEs. I am praying that bringing Kate back to drag down Phoebe's A' Levels isn't the start of the inevitable dismantling of her brilliant career.
