OK, this was posted on another site on January 1st 2014

'Based upon a letter in the DM from a reader who alleged they had overheard "an obnoxiously loud member of TA production team" in a Birmingham restaurant. Believe it at your peril.

Rob is revealed to be homophobic.
Jill will move into Brookfield.
The Grundy's to move back to Grange Farm.
Tom will take over the running of Bridge Farm after Tony has an accident.
Lower Loxley may burn down, but that has yet to be decided upon.
Lynda is to stage Blithe Spirit next Christmas.

Or not, as the case may be...'

How much more will come to pass, I wonder?

This is The Archers though. They have parties for every damn thing.

Which Thursday though Gasp0 ? This coming one or the next? Please let it be this Thursday!

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/03/2016 13:57

Squeeee! Have set reminder in my calendar

Yes, sorry, I meant this coming Thursday. Good Friday teaser says Helen makes a call - please oh please let it be to Women's Aid or at least to Kirsty.

PseudoBadger · 19/03/2016 17:54

Surely her leaving party would be her, Knob and Henry with Helen locked upstairs?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/03/2016 19:23

Sad Angry We were talking on the other (record-breaking) thread about 19th century literary influences that might be at work on TA. Your party idea is venturing into Bronte territory, I'd say. Combination of the first Mrs Rochester in the attic and Cathy tapping on the window of Wuthering Heights. (I know that last bit doesn't connect factually, but the mood does. In my head, anyway.)

ElementaryMyDear · 20/03/2016 17:21

There's a mention of Ursula's leaving party upthread in the Total TV Guide for this week, so with luck we only have a few more days to endure her.

VitaSackvileVest · 20/03/2016 18:00

Gasp0de, maybe also echoes of "The tenant of Wildfell Hall", with a heroine called Helen who has a 5 year old son, and a wicked husband who she escapes from.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/03/2016 18:28

Gosh, I'd utterly forgotten that, Vita! [great name, btw - I love Gloomsbury] It must be not faro off 35 years since I read TTOWH. All I could remember about it was that there was a drunkard and a young, miserable wife.

It may be relevant here that SOC has an English degree. Grin

gingeroots · 20/03/2016 18:48

Who's the special visitor on the 8 April ?

Stickerrocks · 20/03/2016 19:35

The school thing is undoubtedly going to kick off this Thursday now Rob has told Henry it's a secret. Hope this is the trigger Helen needs to call Kirsty for help on Friday.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/03/2016 19:36

gingeroots, Vango and BoreofWhabylon did sterling work upthread pointing out that Bruce Titchener is in the cast list that week. The actor's name is the same as a character actor of the right age with a long track record of playing Nazis. Make of that what you will! Grin

gingeroots · 21/03/2016 08:46

Thanks - I'm a bit under the weather at moment and missed tthat Smile

Stickerrocks · 21/03/2016 17:55

Sometimes it's very difficult not to plunge into the Other Thread when they are speculating & say, well the Radio Times says he blunts out his secret on Thursday, so take cover.

Gruach · 21/03/2016 19:06

It is difficult, yes! Grin

BYOSnowman · 21/03/2016 20:28

So an arsonist on the loose

Could this be the start of the final part of the op - lower loxley being burnt to the ground?

I really hope they dropped that idea

Stickerrocks · 21/03/2016 21:08

And so it came to pass that Lower Loxley was transformed into an Eggmobile, with Elizabeth, Freddy & Lily all living inside in glorious splendour (except the Fairbrethren hadn't noticed) and Freddy smoked a crafty gag and burnt the Lower Loxley Eggmobile to the ground.

Stickerrocks · 21/03/2016 21:08

Fag, obviously, not gag.

RADIO TIMES 26 March to 1 April

Blossom Hill Cottage is the scene of more domestic horrors as Rob's irritation flares when Helen acts without his knowledge. Henry is also succumbing to chocolate temptation, with chilling consequences. By the end of the week, Helen is busy making plans - and discovering some grim truths along the way.

Lonely Bert is given a fillip thanks to the ebullient presence of the Fairbrothers, aka "his boys". Life is cheered up by having some young company to help in his garden - even if the trade off is some hen talk.

And tongues are wagging over the theft of the lent money from the church. A suspicious Clarrie confesses that she feels the culprit may be close to home...

BYOSnowman · 22/03/2016 18:46

Looks like I may be right about the bros moving in with Bert

glowfrog · 22/03/2016 18:58

Sounds like Rob is going to start losing it... I like the sound of Helen making plans.

Gruach · 22/03/2016 19:01

I don't like the sound of Henry and chilling consequences in the same sentence.Sad

But thanks Sticker.

Stickerrocks · 22/03/2016 19:22

Hopefully that will be the catalyst for Helen to act, especially if she finds out about the school plan this week. I would love her to find some boxes of sleeping tablets somewhere that Rob has been putting into those endless cups of tea to make her drowsy as the grim discovery. It finally sounds as though the end may be nigh.

How many bedrooms has the Bungalow got?

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/03/2016 19:31

Thank you Stickerrocks.

Looks like Henwee might be punished for raiding the easter egg stash...

Yes, I fear so. Sad Angry

TOTAL TV GUIDE 26 MARCH - 1 APRIL 2016

Theft of Lent money from the church leaves parishioners downcast - but Clarrie fears the culprit may be close to home.

Celebrations at Lower Loxley raise spirits.

Lynda is racked with nerves over the pageant play and celebrity opening of the refurbished village hall.
Will she be able to conjure a famous guest?

Bet is buoyed by the presence of the Fairbrothers.

Rob continues to impress Helen's older relatives.

The atmosphere turns chilly at Blossom Cottage when Henry gives in to Easter eff temptation.

When Helen uncovers some grim truths, will her plan and resolve hold firm?

MrsArthurShappey · 22/03/2016 23:47

Shock would the shop or farm have a walk in cold store? Would it be used to store chocolates?
