She's got a whole calendar to use!

A new contender! Someone on the Spoiler thread suggests Matt and Lilian as possible Brookfield purchasers. Now while I doubt they'd have any interest in running a farm they might well, if the place is broken up, consider buying the house with a little land for James, Leonie and Mungo.

A shame James hasn't really built up many relationships in the village (aside from the absent Brenda.) But - with all the character culling I'm pleased the Snells are now part of the First Family.

I liked Brine getting a little dig in at David about the benefits of having family around in a crisis. Deavid would be a bit stuck for rellies to rally round if he gets a cow landing on him again.

Icimoi · 18/11/2014 15:45

Re Blithe Spirit: I take it that Lynda is Madame Arcati (which will be brilliant) and Helen is Ruth, Charles' wife. Does anyone know who's playing Elvira?

With any luck, Lynda will cast PC Plot as Charles, Knob will become stupidly possessive and jealous and threaten him, and PC Plot will lock him up.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 18/11/2014 15:50

Was Fallon going to be Elvira? I don't understand why Lynda has not cast Kenton, or has he not volunteered? He'd be good.

cheminotte · 18/11/2014 16:23

Nobody is volunteering, they are waiting to be asked. Jim is obviously desperate to play Charles.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 18/11/2014 17:01

I wonder if Lynda is teasing him?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 18/11/2014 17:18

But Jim must be over 80, or not far off! It would be utterly ridiculous for Jim to be Charles, even with Elvira and Ruth played by women in their 50s.

BasketzatDawn · 18/11/2014 17:20

Does anyone else think Robert is on a silent protest i.e. not getting on with the set-building out of 'uncertainty' about the r/ship between his wife and Jim? Note: I'm not really being serious!! But he should have begun the set by now, surely. And I am speaking as the mother of a 'set man'.

I felt sure Jessus (as opposed to Baby Cheesus which was Henry's ML title!) was conceived in the Feb. encounter, but maybe it was later. I find that surprising though, as I thought Jess was talking as if she had seen the light regarding Rob. But maybe he did use his considerable 'charm' on her again.

unitarian · 18/11/2014 17:20

I'm so pleased Jim is featuring more.
It was so funny when David came across them in the layby! I choked on my tea when someone up thread mentioned dogging.

He's going to be cast as Charles but is he a bit too old to play opposite Helen?
However, I keep banging on about Jim having seen the naked nastiness of Rob and performing with Helen might push Rob's jealousy buttons so that could be interesting.
I'm more inclined to think Linda will let Helen off performing and find someone else. I'm surprised Carol isn't angling for a part. She's into every other village activity.

BasketzatDawn · 18/11/2014 17:23

Will the character called Ruth in BS and the 'real person' at Brookfield be a cause of great confusion in the village? I do like the Bull renaming suggestion above. Grin

unitarian · 18/11/2014 17:39

I think mummytime is right about it being more likely to be Ursula who brings the news of the birth of Baby Jessus.
She'll be pretty desperate to have the baby recognised as her GC with the Titch name and all.

GypsyFloss · 18/11/2014 18:14

The baby Jessus can be named Titchynob minor with Titchynob major as his father , on the birth cert, without the presence of the latter. If I was Jess I'd be forging great links with Grandma Ursula and letting the CSA or whatever they call themselves now chase him for his dues, regardless of whether he reckons it's his baby or not.

J62 · 18/11/2014 18:23

Surely BL will buy Brookfield as a weekend pad for Justin Elliott and use the land for crops for the AD?

BringYourOwnSnowman · 18/11/2014 19:05

Well mr health and safety is a jerk

BringYourOwnSnowman · 18/11/2014 19:07

And I don't think he's going to be nice to ed

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 18/11/2014 19:08

Oh dear.Sad

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 18/11/2014 19:11

NOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

GypsyFloss · 18/11/2014 19:12

Oh a mention of Tom at last. I'll bet Rob knows how to contact him properly!

Icimoi · 18/11/2014 19:13

They've just confirmed for me that Fallon is playing Elvira. So I reckon they've got to cast PC Plot as Charles, so that she can alternate between flirting with him and seething with jealousy at Helen.

Icimoi · 18/11/2014 19:14

Aaand - Lynda's just exploded that one by saying she'll have to recast Hellin. Note to self: wait till the end of the episode before posting.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 18/11/2014 19:16

I can not believe they haven't told Tom. Do they think we are stupid?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 18/11/2014 19:18

Good God Rob is awful. There will be no organic farm for Tony to come back to. And now he wants poor Helen out gallivanting while her father is in hospital?

BasketzatDawn · 18/11/2014 19:21

Maybe the new actor is mid-contract for some other job. Hmm

unitarian · 18/11/2014 19:21

Rob knows where Tom is because he got Tom the job. If he could contact the farm last April then he could do so now.

It's fascinating the way Rob says all the right things, such as what a tight ship Tony runs, but we don't trust a word he says. And he's also played the sad family card so a visit from Ursula is flagged!

I know Jess can put his name on the birth cert but I feel sure Ursula will want more than a legality. She will want Rob to recognise the child as his.

I think it's starting to unravel.

Icimoi · 18/11/2014 19:43

The implication in that episode seemed to be that they knew how to contact Tom, they were just having difficulty doing so. I suspect that that's because he's on a plane.
