No - I laughed.

There was lots to laugh at last night.

Re-Dddaaaddd's creepy spreadshits, I am sure there was someone a few days ago who said she was 68. I haven't any memory of who she was - and as I have a life of sorts (I think of it as my little half-life, on a goood day Sad) I don't plan to read back to check. BTW I like the stats - not creepy at all. Smile

In the Grundy triangle, I think you could say Emma was the really naughty one. It goes to say if you're engaged to one man you don't shag another. Tis wrong whether it's his brother or not. But being betrayed by your brother, even if you've always resented his presence on the planet, must add to the pain. However, you don't choose who you fall in love with - though you should be able to control your impulses. As my Calvinist granny maybe said. My opinion of Will (and maybe I'm being terribly unfair here) was that he never really loved Emma - but his anguish at his very public cuckolding was the real humiliation and what has driven him on.

Thanks again for the correction of my 'Russian woman' mistake. Who knows where that idea came from really. BlushI am glad there are people with better hearing who can follow it all for me. Grin

In real news I was reading of problems in Hungary where the government have been taking farms from families who have worked that land for years, decades even, and with no recompense. I wonder if BL's operation could be stolen in such a way. That would be interesting. of course I cannot recall the detail, but on reading it I did think of Debbie Aldridge and the great stress she would be under if such happened to her enterprise. Smile

oops

Halsall · 06/11/2014 16:05

It must be a measure of my increasing pissed-off-ness with the current SL that I've missed most of the nightly eps this week, and am seriously considering skipping the film.

Glad to hear about 'Blithe Spirit', though. I once saw a professional production at a matinee in a big city (shall be nameless) in which the cast outnumbered the audience. Everything onstage went wrong, including music cues being missed, people making mistaken entrances, phones failing to ring, etc. The cast got the giggles at various points and at the end they gave us, the audience, a round of applause.

I'd like to think Lynda's production will go similarly swimmingly Grin

cheminotte · 06/11/2014 16:23

Maybe the older Archers fans are discussing it on Gransnet?

DadDadDad · 06/11/2014 16:31

Basketz - it's straightforward to search the whole thread for the number 68 and the only appearances are your comment above and someone saying they were born in 1968. So unless it was on an earlier thread, I've yet to see anyone that age.

I didn't mean that doing stats on people's ages is creepy, it was just the thought that I had random women on the internet personally addressing comments to me telling me their age! I was worried it was starting to look odd. (Maybe it's all in my head).

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 06/11/2014 16:39

I think creepy is asking random women for their bra size, DDD!

DadDadDad · 06/11/2014 16:43

Bra size DDD? Crumbs!

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 06/11/2014 16:47

Just clocking into the thread and catching up with the Ambridge crew.

ppeatfruit · 06/11/2014 17:22

I LOVE this thread always good for a laugh when cleaning up the wood burner becomes annoying! Grin

Your version of Blithe Spirit sounds fun Halsall were all the 'professional actors' on more than a wee drop o the hard stuff d'you reckon?

BitOutOfPractice · 06/11/2014 17:46

Dad3! I thoughtthe same when I saw DDD and bra size in the ame sentence Grin

Hello. Just caufgt up with last night's and now I'm going to be behind again as DC's school has an open evening starting at 7pm. Phili-bloody-stines!

BasketzatDawn · 06/11/2014 18:17

NoNoNo, DDD, none of it is creepy. I was just expressing myself clumsily.Grin. Could the 68 have been in the previous thread? Does it matter? Smile

I find myself on the horns of a dilemma, like others. Do I go to the philosophy group for 7pm start or do I appear at 7.20 having heard tonight's episode. And, my inadequate ears and the fact I've hardly done my 'homework' adds to the dilemma. Maybe I'll just stay in. BTW it's relaxed little group, not in the least highbrow. Just in case anyone was impressed. Hmm

DadDadDad · 06/11/2014 18:19

Basketz - how do you know that your philosophy group even exists? Smile

BasketzatDawn · 06/11/2014 18:21

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 06/11/2014 19:08

Oooh look - they're reading straight from the thread!

Shallishanti · 06/11/2014 19:15

poor Jill

BringYourOwnSnowman · 06/11/2014 19:16

What happened?

Halsall · 06/11/2014 19:17

ppeat, I think it was just one of those afternoons and they got hysterical, especially seeing about 5 audience members huddled in the stalls (a desperate front-of-house guy had implored us to move seats so we were at least all together and fairly central).

There were some pretty well-known names in the cast, too. The actress playing Madame Arcati got into the spirit and just played the increasingly surreal events for laughs, like the trouper she was.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 06/11/2014 19:19

Just caught up

David is a 'insert worst word you can think of' doing that to his mother for such crappy reasons

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 06/11/2014 19:21

Nothing except a family meeting (excluding D&R) at The Stables for Jill to explain her decision. Kenton said everything we've been saying.

Oh and Helen agreed to take her Grandmother to the hairdressers on her birthday, pre-party.

And R-Johnny had been talking to Molly Button.

PetulaGordino · 06/11/2014 19:24

cheminotte i have just looked and they have a long-running archers thread on gransnet! i expect some posters on here were already aware of it though. not quite as fast-moving but no less irritated by brookfield bollocks.

perhaps we should have an exchange programme?

LillianGish · 06/11/2014 20:17

Don't say that Petula - it's taking me all my time to keep up on here.
