A "slash" on the Archers?.I have only just got over prince John stopping for "a cup of tea and a wazz" Smile

Also, I live in perpetual but dwindling hope that IAN will make be at the HB and have some lines to speak. As he's been silent for so long it would only be right that he gets to do more than comment on the food.

Perhaps he will be so disgusted at Adam that he will go to see why Hell/Rob haven't turned up and so be in on the unfolding drama at the cottage thus being able to back up Pat and tell Helen to LTB - and take another swing at Rob.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/10/2014 12:02

I do hope the residents of Ambridge (and the people who produce their audio diary) are reading the credit crunch thread on milk.

(Would link if phone would let me.)

Some interesting trends.

PumpkinGordino · 25/10/2014 12:34

They have been adding in topical stuff recently re milk and the protests (maybe they saw us whinging Grin)

PumpkinGordino · 25/10/2014 12:38

Helen needs MN. She would hate it though. She would have had a massive flaming (not for relationship stuff - I'm thinking the cheesemaker thread) and would forever more be complaining about nests of vipers so wouldn't ever benefit from the red flag observances

WaltzingWithBares · 25/10/2014 12:49

Here is the credit crunch milk thread

Loved last nights epi. Hilariously toe-curlingly excruciating. Tried to blank out any pissed-up behaviour I've ever demonstrated that even slightly resembled that. Don't think I've ever puked on a close relative's sofa thankfully. only in the back of their 4x4 when I didn't get the window open in time

unitarian · 25/10/2014 13:32

It is slightly odd that no one in Ambridge seems to be on MN. Even in my little village there are two or three of us who sometimes ask one another if we've seen such & such a thread.

Hayley would be on, so would Vicky.
I would expect Ruth to be asking advice about her mum's care and Shula would be posting AIBU to worry where my DH is when he says he's going to a conference.
Jess is bound to be on and Helen would be stalking her.
Pat would be posting about feminism, organic farming and AIBU to be suspicious of my DD's partner.
Jenny would be boasting about her kitchen and AIBU to suspect this woman of killing her husband.
Rob would be a troll.

OddFodd · 25/10/2014 13:38

Is the compensation issue for Rotaboy totally put to bed then? He said on the phone to her that he wanted move on but how would they have decided what was fair without taking legal advice. God I really hate storylines that don't go anywhere. Angry

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/10/2014 13:39

Well now we've brought it to their attention we can expect a hasty re-write. Helen's sure to mention MN next week only to hear it decisively put down by Rob.

I love their stealing Kate Bush from us!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/10/2014 13:42

Dunno Odd - it does sound as if they want to drop the legal aspect and concentrate on the emotional fallout only. Which would be rubbish.

CuttedUpPear · 25/10/2014 13:50

Ian's absence from the story is ridiculous, given his supposed position as Helen's BFF.

After he punched Knob (Grin ) there would have been at least SOME resolution, even if just Knob explaining to Helen how Ian wasn't really a friend to her.

The other supposed BFFs are Usha and Ruth.
Yeah right.

Like you wouldn't discuss the huge life changes Ruth is considering without an in depth with your only best mate.

unitarian · 25/10/2014 13:57

Roy mentioned brightly to Lizzie on the phone a week or so ago that he'd got the cheque.

justiceofthePeas · 25/10/2014 14:00

Roy said last week "I got the cheque in the post" so I take it he has been paid off.

justiceofthePeas · 25/10/2014 14:00

Xpost

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/10/2014 14:05

Yes..... I would have liked to hear how they arrived at a figure. Was it just his one month's pay or compensation for constructive dismissal? (And what about Hayley?) It's all very unsatisfactory.

PumpkinGordino · 25/10/2014 14:06

rob would be the sort of male poster who starts his posts with "as a man..."

(in reality Wink rob would hate MN and helen would have to use it in secret. all those WOMEN THINKING THINGS and telling each other that SAHM =/= skivvy)

BOOreOfWOOObylon · 25/10/2014 14:47

Rob would invade FWR in order to mansplain feminism to the wimminz

Jazzer would be a Pie&Bovril invader

BOOreOfWOOObylon · 25/10/2014 14:53

Talk of Jill going 'Ooh!' and Joe going 'Arrr' has put this little scene into my head:

Deeervid: Ruuu...
Joe: Arrr
Jill: Ooh!
Joe: Arrr
Rooth: Eee!

Jennydarling: Ruaruari!!!

PumpkinGordino · 25/10/2014 15:02
BOOreOfWOOObylon · 25/10/2014 15:10

BOOreOfWOOObylon · 25/10/2014 15:11

er... Grin, I meant

Blush
Bluestocking · 25/10/2014 15:29

I thought of Jill going "ooh", Joe going "aarr" and Jazzer going "aye".

unitarian · 25/10/2014 16:22

Yes, I noticed that Roy didn't say 'cheques' so did Hayley get one? Another good reason for her to pop back next week to talk about the house and money.

Come to think of it, he's got a nerve accepting a payout and then still pursuing her, and he was making friendly- sounding needy calls before last night's drunken horror.

squeaver · 25/10/2014 17:49

This Brookfield sale is SUCH a red herring. Why hasn't Jill said anything about Phil's will and the money needing to be split evenly? Surely she would remember and that would put a big enough spanner in the works to stop them going? Also surely Peeep would have an opinion - she's never quiet about anything else (has she run off with Lily and Ian??).

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/10/2014 17:57

You must have missed it squever? She did remind D&R that the siblings were entitled to shares if Brookfield was sold. Which prompted the family meeting. But rather crucially we have no idea what percentGe they are entitled to. And I suspect the SEs will make it up as they go along.

Or did you mean something else?
