A new thread in time for the film this morning.

I'm going for new thread on Friday 7th - probably before the episode so that we've got enough space to comment on the Friday damp squib cliffhanger.

Did anyone else hear the CA? Tonight's episode is 'not to be missed' apparently. They seem to have upped the ante on the CA trailers of late - wonder if that's Mr O'Connor's influence?

Icimoi · 24/10/2014 16:53

Two players - great! Interesting choices. (And by interesting, I mean wrong).

There's a challenge, DadDadDad.

PumpkinGordino · 24/10/2014 16:56

you will get from olivia if you do icimoi

Icimoi · 24/10/2014 17:00

I think my mother would have told me that the "poor bereaved me" stuff just doesn't work after almost three years and certainly doesn't work when you're using it as an excuse for ruining the lives of another woman and two children. And there is no way on God's earth that she would try to use that to defend me to other people, not least because she would have been well aware that it's pretty disgraceful trying to trade on your husband's death like that.

Icimoi · 24/10/2014 17:01

Don't worry, Pumpkin, I've no intention of doing it. I would hate to be drummed out of this board in disgrace!

PumpkinGordino · 24/10/2014 17:03
Grin

(cannot get used to being called pumpkin. may have to change back)

DadDadDad · 24/10/2014 17:38

Icimoi - bear in mind that competitors will be subject to random drugs testing, so I would be careful not to arouse too much suspicion...

unitarian · 24/10/2014 17:52

My prediction for end of thread is earlier than yours, icimoi, so please go ahead and post more!

nauticant · 24/10/2014 19:03

This is so excrutiating it's marvellous.

BiscuitMillionaire · 24/10/2014 19:17

BOOreOfWOO I was going to post the same Grin

BiscuitMillionaire · 24/10/2014 19:18

I thought Roy was going to get hit by a car or something.

CuttedUpPear · 24/10/2014 19:19

I am a bit annoyed though at the recurring contrived references to the past, obviously for the benefit of new listeners.

Just go to the website if you want to know stuff! No one ever told us oldies any back stories, why should it be any easier for the next generation? Angry Grin

GypsyFloss · 24/10/2014 19:22

Loved Ed. Just how much trouble will he be in with Soosan in the morning?

Icimoi I agree absolutely. My mother would have said the exact same. I think it's very poor show and yet typical of Lizzie to play the poor bereaved widow card.

After tonight's episode I'm veering towards a Roy demise before Christmas.

And I predict this thread ending on the 5th November .

unitarian · 24/10/2014 19:32

I thought Roy's demise was going to happen tonight.

I've lost everything so I might as well have another go at you!
Not the best seduction line ever.

BasketzatDawn · 24/10/2014 19:33

I can see why Jill as her mother would want to love her dd no matter what bad things she'd done. As a mother I'd like to think that's how I'd handle it. BUT what I disliked was the line about 'my beautiful clever daughter' - just so inappropriate in that context.

I wonder what Emmur will say/how she will handle it. Clarrie and Eddie must have a spare room? Where did the boys sleep when all at home? I think one did share with his granddad. But when did they lose their farm exactly? 20 years plus ago, I guess. Then they had a spell in Meadow Rise. Maybe Will never lived in the parental home after that????

Elizabeths I have known. Two in their early 50s. One never gets anything but full version. The other is Elizabeth to all except her dh who calls her Liz. Their dd is in her early 30s and Elizabeth too - and it's never shortened AFAIK.

nauticant · 24/10/2014 19:35

One thing I did enjoy was the expressed friendship between Brian and David and then the contrast with the younger generation of Ambridge men.

unitarian · 24/10/2014 19:44

I agree, Basketz. I hope I have a better relationship with my DD than I ever had with my mother. I could never have talked frankly with mine - but I wouldn't praise DD in those circumstances!

She does seem to have braced up Elizabeth though.

I was longing for Freddie to fire a shotgun out of the window at Roy.......
