Have you had your free venison burger?

I only just got around to listening to that episode.
Pat and Tony were superb for once - I could hear the gritted teeth! Helen did sound as if she was waking up a few weeks ago, but Rob has lulled her again.

I thought it was really well written.
Except someone has got to mention his (not yet) ex wife!

WillieWaggledagger · 16/06/2014 12:28

no hak, unbelievable as it is

i had to look up lazy weeder btw, ignorant as i am. turns out that it actually looks like the perfect thing for a hungover jazzer!

rob distracted her with a shiny ring

GypsyFloss · 16/06/2014 12:33

Just listened. Rob the Knob was grim. Helen is deluded and will be chained to that kitchen sink in a few short months.

OddFodd · 16/06/2014 14:11

I don't know why P&T are surprised that Henry made Rob a father's day card.

Icimoi · 16/06/2014 14:15

I agree with Zero about the knitting, given that Lil wants to be one up on Lynda there is just no way she would have attempted to knit something herself. I think she's far more likely to pay someone to make something unique, though given that her lack of crafting skills seems to be well known she presumably couldn't pass it off as all her own work.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 16/06/2014 14:20

Do you think that we'll hear Knob on the phone to the recruitment people?

Also wondered whether this is an opportunity for Fallon, but maybe she wants to do something a bit more "meaningful".

PC Plot, I mean Harrison, is growing on me...

WillieWaggledagger · 16/06/2014 14:20

yes i'm surprised lilian even felt she needed to compete with lynda on the handicrafts front. i would have expected more of a buying a silver-plated rattle kind of thing

fallon is the same age as me. i think she should go on a round-the-world trip and use that time to think about what she really wants. don't settle down with the policeman yet

stilllearnin · 16/06/2014 14:24

Would the fear that P&T could lose Helen too mean that they would be soooo subservient to Rob. I would have thought Pat could have found a subtle way of taking back the reins on the shop recruitment. I have a dim memory of falling in love and I can see that H is smitten so her reaction is more believable. Krusty would go bonkers.

No way Rob would employ Fallon - apart from the misogyny, H brought her back when she'd got arrested on the hen do. She will probably go for it not realising he is pulling the strings. Oh, oh, oh hang on...P&T will recruit her and Rob will bully her horribly. PC plot to the rescue...

LillianGish · 16/06/2014 14:24

Thanks so much for the lazy weeder pick Willie! (Don't usually like pictures of the cast but will make an exception for this Grin)

ppeatfruit · 16/06/2014 14:24

But Lil was attempting to do something LIKE the llama blanket; soft and fluffy and cosy! A rug would've been easier! It's a real contest Grin She does do weird out of character things like having it off with psycho Paul remember Grin.

LillianGish · 16/06/2014 14:27

Hadn't thought of Rob and Helen moving in with Peggoi, but perhaps that were her increasing feebleness is leading up to. Then who knows what Rob might do - didn't Jess's father die ? Maybe that's what her warning to Helen about not realising what she was getting into was all about?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/06/2014 14:28

I had the feeling that Fallon was wanting to add some domestic weight to her CV rather than simply moving to another job.

And if they were really clever they would be using the mention of Jolene's tiredness to lead into a story about her being ill - but they don't seem to make such effective use of the time these days.

ppeatfruit · 16/06/2014 14:43

Lilian i don't think he's THAT bad; we all have to die some time Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 16/06/2014 14:55

it's not a cast pick lil, don't worry! i got it off an agricultural machinery website

mummytime · 16/06/2014 16:43

I don't think they record Jazzer in a lazy weeder, making him really do the weeding, any more than he really drove a minibus in Ambridge extra.

unitarian · 16/06/2014 17:26

Stilllearnin - yes to Rob not hiring Fallon. She'd be a 'bad' influence on Helen!

Helen would be an unhappy SAHM. She never seemed to have a lot of patience with Henry when she was alone with him.

nutellacake · 16/06/2014 18:08

Can someone tell me what happened with the Darrel plot in the end? (Sorry, slightly off topic I know...but the whole Shula thing reminded me).

Last I heard, Shula tried to drop him off at the hostel and he had a panic attack. I didn't listen for a few weeks after that (DS was born) and when I resumed, the whole story line was gone.

FuturePerfect · 16/06/2014 19:59

'That's not your tape measure, Buddy!' Wink

mummytime · 16/06/2014 20:26

Buddy actually made me laugh, with his painkillers which he got from a "plumber".
Just hope PC Plot doesn't play Home Farm a visit.

Hakluyt · 16/06/2014 22:13

Back to the old days when working class characters were the comic relief.Sad

What's happened about Caroline and the management of Grey Gables? I had forgotten about that.
