Roll up roll up for The Wedding special from Catheter Hall. Is the lark flying high? Will Krusty jam that ring on the porky finger?

yes, there was an undercurrent there, wasn't there?

ErrolTheDragon · 01/05/2014 14:45

I can't believe that even Jennifer would be that crass - when it would have been easy to broach the subject with 'Do you know anyone who might like my units'. Hmm

Don't know about Clarrie and the glam rock but spot on that Susan would have been a fan of Donny Osmond and David Cassidy Grin. Anyway, nice idea for the party... Jazzer could come as a Bay City Roller.

HumphreyCobbler · 01/05/2014 15:23

I agree Errol, it is so clunky. Jennifer always seemed to have more social awareness than to casually offend like that. Just like the overt amazement shown when she thought Susan had won the lottery. There are more subtle ways of indicating a snobby attitude.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 01/05/2014 15:27

Errol I nearly wrote your first paragraph last night but then I wondered - did she make the terrible offer after Susan invited herself to a kitchen supper? I wondered if it might have been a swift put-down. I agree, normally she wouldn't be quite so crass.

Exeunt, pursued by a boar?

Panzee · 01/05/2014 18:28

Turps, I love it!

AnyoneforTurps · 01/05/2014 18:47

Thanks - though the credit really goes to pseudobadger of course, mine is just a tweak - a pinch of seasoning in an already delicious Archer sausage Wink

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 01/05/2014 19:14

Oh Tony.....

Idiot.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/05/2014 19:15

Oh my god Tony - that was dreadful. I am really starting to dislike him

Abra1d · 01/05/2014 19:16

Has Tony lost his mind? Idiot.

Kirk1 · 01/05/2014 19:17

So we're having a remembrance of dead people day. Tony's suggestion that quietly two-timing Hayley(?) is better than having a last minute crisis of identity in public shows he has about the sensitivity of a cow...

mummytime · 01/05/2014 19:17

I just hope Tony has brain damage, early onset alzheimers or something. that was totally horrible.

If Tom goes away and leaves them all in the lurch it would serve them right.

OneWaySystemBlues · 01/05/2014 19:19

I think Tom will run away or attempt suicide after that tirade. Tony was an utter arse tonight.

Bimblepops · 01/05/2014 19:20

Oh my god, how awful was Tony?! What on earth did he think he was doing? He's absolutely vile. I never thought I'd feel sorry for Tom, but tonight has forced me to!

BitOutOfPractice · 01/05/2014 19:20
Kirk1 · 01/05/2014 19:20

Definitely time for Tom to go NC with his abusive parent. I never really liked tony he has always seemed to be very self-absorbed "poor me, I'm having to do things that other people ask me to do. Boo hoo" maybe the Fergie should have rolled on him...

Bea · 01/05/2014 19:22

I was Shock at Tony! What a horrible way to behave!
I really hope he gets his come uppance!!

nauticant · 01/05/2014 19:24

Well done Tony.

I wondered about the next title and thought something like:

Over-infested? Find your cure in the Grundy Rehab Shed

OddFodd · 01/05/2014 19:25

Tony hasn't always been that horrible. Seemed v extreme. Poor Tom Sad

Kernowal · 01/05/2014 19:28

Tony seemed to have a personality change around the time that he had all that plastic surgery a few months ago. he was painful to listen to this evening.

GypsyFloss · 01/05/2014 19:50

I'm very unimpressed with Tony's fathering skills tonight. As I said before he and Pat really do deserve the children that grew.

route1 · 01/05/2014 19:59

I wonder if 'real' Tony listens to new Tony? it must be quite painful for him to hear the scriptwriters betray the character in that way. Tony could be a bit blunt and insensitive at times but never as cruel as that.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 01/05/2014 20:10

I wonder - do heart attacks alter personality in the way that strokes seem to?

Even if not technically a brain injury? The initial frustration and helplessness might never completely disappear. There must be an increased impatience... And ime people who were once fairly calm and in control can become somewhat - shouty. So, while I acknowledge that he has changed I wonder if it's closer to reality than it first appears.

OldBeanbagz · 01/05/2014 20:46

Tony was awful tonight and i actually felt sorry for Tom. If it wasn't the heart attack that caused his personality change, then maybe working himself up towards another one will help. Pat at least showed compassion towards her son.

I'm so caught up in this storyline that i googled Archers spoilers. How sad is that? Grin

nennypops · 01/05/2014 20:50

The thing is, it's still very hard to marry this Tom up with the person who's been so impassioned about the whole pig venture and put his heart and soul into it. Can that really have been someone who was doing something that never came naturally to him?
