Roll up roll up for The Wedding special from Catheter Hall. Is the lark flying high? Will Krusty jam that ring on the porky finger?

I think it was Tom that dumped Kirsty in a restaurant - she thought he was going to ask her to move in.

Redcliff · 27/04/2014 19:03

I also think K and T might get back together - she was so sweet to him when she thought it was just the wedding he didn't want. He is heading for a breakdown surely?

Redcliff · 27/04/2014 19:05

Lovely Roy - at least he hasn't turned his back on Tom. Yes - good for Kirsty !

Ewieindwie1 · 27/04/2014 19:07

Hi all! So Kirsty is having lovely holiday! GOOD!

Glad Tom is ok though... And at least daft but well meaning Roy is with him.

Glad you liked the Ewie explanation Mimsie. For your info Dh is Aggie and her sister is Mim - like you!

Ewieindwie1 · 27/04/2014 19:08

Poor Pat

Redcliff · 27/04/2014 19:11

What would Tom even say to Kirsty if he could speak to her?

Bluestocking · 27/04/2014 19:12

Oh lord, Piggoi sounds like a Bond villain ...

Bluestocking · 27/04/2014 19:15

.... and now she's doing her Poor Little Old Lday PA quivery voice! Grrrr.

Ewieindwie1 · 27/04/2014 19:15

BLIMEY Tony's really going for it. Will there be anyone he doesn't blame for his being a moany self obsessed, self pitying twerp?

TallGiraffe · 27/04/2014 19:18

Didn't Tom speak to Kirsty the other day? What can he possibly hope to gain from a second explanation?!

Redcliff · 27/04/2014 19:19

Tony needs to give it a rest - Tom chose to speak to Peggy and not his parents for a reason.

Redcliff · 27/04/2014 19:20

Too right Tall - he needs to give her some space .

Ewieindwie1 · 27/04/2014 19:21

Yes Tallgiraffe, I'm confused. But I wonder if they DIDN'T talk... Maybe he just stood mewling outside the door and she stuck her fingers in her ears whilst slurping neat gin through a straw? Glad she's gone to Costa Rica though... And Tom will be paying from the sound of it!

Redcliff · 27/04/2014 19:24

Forgotten that Tom will be paying for Kirsty and pal to enjoy his honeymoon - brilliant ! Revenge is sweet.

unitarian · 27/04/2014 19:32

Thanks for the explanation about the Ribena stain. I wonder if Tom is going to get the bill for the expensive dress on top of everything else.

HumphreyCobbler · 27/04/2014 19:34

Yes, I too enjoyed the fact that Kirsty went on the honeymoon. Tom moaning about her enjoying the cocktails and bitching about him was proof that his repentance is somewhat shallow

Ewieindwie1 · 27/04/2014 19:34

Think Tom's newfound perspective re money may be short lived. Suspect he'll be paying £10K minimum for the 'best' day of his life.

Ewieindwie1 · 27/04/2014 19:35

Agreed Humphey. He sounded spiteful and peeved then...

Selks · 27/04/2014 19:42

Great that Kirsty's gone to Costa Rica! Grin

I have no sympathy for Tom. Yes he's realising what a tosser he's been but it's still all about him.....he wants Kirsty to understand so that he feels better...

BasketzatDawn · 27/04/2014 19:45

Utterly brilliant that Kirsty has gone on holiday - and with a pal so she doesn't get to brood too much. Tom's reaction to that was 'pure Tom'. I hope his ears are burning.

I'm finding Tone a bit petty over his adult son choosing who to discuss his marriage doubts with. Though I'm not mad about Peggoi, in this instance she didn't ask him to come by, she did suggest what he should do and when, i.e. not leave the jilting till the last minute. For once I felt a tad sorry for Peggoi. She is a very old lady after all and hasn't done anything wrong - this time. Or am I missing something?

Obvs there's a dramatic point in Tom wanting to talk to Kirsty so much. I hope it's not a precursor to them getting back together. I can't see Tom having a total character change so it's not a goer in my opinion. BTW I think she refused to see him at LL straight after the wedding that wasn't. I don't blame her. Not strong on empathy, oor Tom! Why would she want him to say anything else after what he said in the vestry? aargh!

Ewieindwie1 · 27/04/2014 20:02

I felt sorry for Peggy too. Is it me or is Tony savagely ripping into anyone against whom he feels a grudge? He's such an unpleasant man. Does he ever show compassion, kindness, generosity or humour? Think I might prefer David, Kenton or even (blushes) Brian. (Hides) At least Brian the love rat lives all his kids....

Ewieindwie1 · 27/04/2014 20:02

Sorry - LOVES his kids

laylalilac · 27/04/2014 20:10

New Tony's wobbly voice is geting on my nerves!

Glad Kirsty has gone on the honeymoon and Tom deserves no sympathy for dumping her at the church.

cheminotte · 27/04/2014 20:14

I was thinking what did Tony want Peggy to habeas done? What would they have done if she had phoned on Weds eve and said Tom is having second thoughts.
I managed to listen to Thursday's episode live despite having guests by hiding in the bathroom with headphones in! Then on Friday I asked a work colleague who listens to some R4 if she listened to some the Archers and she looked at me in horror.
Only heard Friday's episode today though so have been avoiding the thead.

MollyBdenum · 27/04/2014 20:16

When Tom knocked on the door asking to spesk to Kirsty after the wedding, I thought I heard the sound of her drawing a bolt to keep him out.
