Will this thread make it to the wedding? Will it outlive Tony?

Just delurking to say my family are really puzzled that now, not only do I have to listen to the Archers everyday, I also have to read the Archers.

Can't wait for the wedding excitement...

WillieWaggledagger · 22/04/2014 21:11

i loved that episode, i shed a tear at t&t, gasped at wedding dress shenanigans...

ErrolTheDragon · 22/04/2014 21:16

I quite enjoyed the lighter relief of Shula sniping at Dan (see what I did there)

PseudoBadger · 22/04/2014 21:20

Zero I missed this: "Old (Hall), New (build), Borrowed (money)... Will Ambridge be feeling blue the morning after?"

That's the one!

I was a bit confused as to the time of day. I thought it was bedtime and was shocked that Helen would give him "juice" at bedtime. But realised later it wasn't. me judge?

Northernlurker · 22/04/2014 21:30

I enjoyed the bits where Shula was getting behind Dan's plans. Sweet with the cuff links.
Do we think Tom went to John's grave to say he'd marry Kirsty 'for him' as it were. I really felt for Tom in the scene with Tony - 'we're so proud of you because you're just like our amazing (squashed by tractor) first born'....that's hard to hear.

GypsyFloss · 22/04/2014 21:50

I think Tom went to John's grave for advice. He's obviously got something on his mind, we've heard a few missed opportunities now. I wonder what he wanted to say to Kirsty but felt it wasn't the right time when Helen told him she was tearful.

I too liked the Shula and Dan scenes. They were touching and showed a more mature way of managing the difficulties.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 22/04/2014 21:54

Dan was more mature than Shula (I was identifying like mad with Shula, btdt with my kids more than once)(not army Grin) but I loved the way she then managed to rise above & all the subsequent conversation was really well done

& I loved the way she headed Dan off from disturbing Tom at John's grave

I don't think Tom would have felt second-best at all at what Tony said; I think he has always felt in John's shadow & Tony, in his blundering way, might finally have pushed him into the light

Nennypops · 22/04/2014 22:09

How stupid do you have to be to try on a mega-expensive wedding dress in the vicinity of a toddler? If it's not the Ribena he'll wipe his sticky fingers on it and throw up all over it.

Mind you, I didn't think they were trying too hard with the specialist cleaners, limiting their search to South Borsetshire. If I'd spent that much on a dress I'd be looking at a cleaners within at least a 100 mile radius.

I continue to be stupidly optimistic that everyone will survive the wedding. I was convinced that something awful would happen at Kenton's wedding when he proclaimed that it was going to be the happiest day of his life, and was proved wrong, so it could well be the same this time round. Also, I was getting worried about Tony after tonight's heart to heart, but

somebody important isn't on next week's cast list

I haven't checked this myself

Martorana · 22/04/2014 22:21

Not sure about the message we were supposed to get from those perfectly manicured fingers dispatching a pheasant......

JollyGolightly · 22/04/2014 22:26

I think that Krusty is expendable, emotionally if not ultimately. It can't be a year since.Tom was dumped.by Bapper, can it? Poor old Krust was his rebound relationship and he wanted a Wife to repair his wounded pride and guarantee the bloodline, without giving too much thought to the implications of a.lifetime of sticky desserts and floral duvets.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/04/2014 23:08

If all goes to plan, neither Tom nor Kirsty should be on it as they should be off to their tropical paradise.

Not sure about the message we were supposed to get from those perfectly manicured fingers dispatching a pheasant
Dunno... that she can do the right thing even if it's unpleasant? Or maybe just a plot device to get her into an upset frame of mind (having to do that would make me a bit fragile for a while)

BitOutOfPractice · 22/04/2014 23:22

Well what if one of them is on the list and the other isn't - that would imply they didn't go...

ErrolTheDragon · 22/04/2014 23:46

Yes - that would surely mean some sort of disaster.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 23/04/2014 00:11

Exactly

Thankyou Pseudo I've been and said hello as RL is intervening today and I've actually got to do some work!

He is just going to jilt here isn't he. Plain and simple. Poor old Kirsty.

PseudoBadger · 23/04/2014 06:19

I think that one of them will speak up when Alan asks abut just impediments (is that the phrase?)

OP posts:
GypsyFloss · 23/04/2014 07:08

Maybe she's got a secret husband stashed away.

GypsyFloss · 23/04/2014 07:10

Maybe we'll get a deep voice from the door of the church " 'ello Kirsty luv" and straight to the theme music a la Eastenders stylee.

Minimammoth · 23/04/2014 18:13

Nah. It's all going to be fine, this is Ambridge. The voice next week will be Tom calling Tony to ask if the pigs are ok.

Selks · 23/04/2014 19:30

Oh my god that was so lame!

HolidayCriminal · 23/04/2014 19:36

It's true what he said, he just stepped straight into John's shoes & never looked back; Never did how own thing (was the anti-GM vandalism before or after John's death?). As wild as he got.

Selks · 23/04/2014 19:40

It just seems so out of character for Tom to in anyway doubt his sausage-life. Didn't ring true to me.
