Yes fish seems to be a problem for him. Perhaps Hellin or Jess will have their revenge on him by locking him in a fish smokehouse.

T & P's land is organic though. I suppose that might make a difference?

My husband doesn't like tuna. So like normal people he tells me this before I cook when I tell him what is planned. He doesn't wait till I've made it and then just about fake throwing up to destroy my self esteem.......

I think pregnancy should play a role. In these RL awful scenarios pregnancy plays a major role. Helen is the mother of a what is he? 3yr old? She's my age - mid thirties. Her biological clock is ticking loudly and I'm betting she wants another baby. It's going to come up.

Loving it! When Rob was explaining how it was all because Jess was suicidal, I was fairly shouting at the radio LTB.

I was just cringing when Helen spoke to Rob, he's so horrible & smarmy. Ugh!

I've started listening again thanks to these threads. Grin

Although I dislike Helinn's character, I'm hoping she can see the light and move back to Bridge farm, and Rob gets his comeuppance in some way or other...and please scriptwriters, I hope there isn't going to be another "baby cheesus" on the way soon.

Simon Pemberton, Cameron Fraser, Simon Gerard and now Rob...there's been a fair few shitty/con men over the years. The only nasty female characters have been Hazel Wooley and the lady who tried to pinch Susan's Neil off her when she was in prison.

I loathe tinned tuna. but if it's the very expensive fresh stuff I love it

I haven't had the pm spoiler from the last thread, please could someone send it to me?

It was a perfect example of how to be a shit, chapter 2, by Rob. I still can't abide Hellin though.

Puttanesca (that was the tuna dish) + " tarts pasta"

Snorkingly appropriate, that I'm sure was deliberate.

So text book abuser. Much as I hate Hellqueen ..... LTB!

I reckon Pseudo that Rob is a dab hand at being a controlling arsehole. I'd quite like to stick a pike in his eye but I suspect Helen, the old trout, would still love him.

I think northernlurker's right. I think she's going to get pregnant and that's going to make it harder for her to leave even when she begins to realise quite how horrendous he is.

His comical blurghing and retching all over the kitchen was so infuriatingly childish, but if he carries on like that it's going to blow his softly-softly mind game.

Ghoulishly brilliant.

Jess dropped the salmon didn't she? Rob wasn't in the room.

Licks end of pencil, ok, adding another to scenario list.
Helen and Jess hit it off big time, and kick Rob out feed him to the pigs

He wasn't really listening though was he when she ran through the list of ingredients?

He was in the middle of shagging someone else perhaps?

PseudoBadger · 19/02/2014 08:43

"He wasn't really listening though was he when she ran through the list of ingredients?"

That's not Helen's problem is it? She told him. Anyway he probably does like tuna but had to sacrifice his love for it to teach her a lesson.

Not surprised he gagged at a Puttanesca!

He's probably a Mumsnetter- people are always having extreme physical reactions to things on here in a way that I have never, ever seen in real life...........Grin

If a person is a bit obsessive - like Helen - then you can bet she went to bed last night thinking 'Rob CHOSE ME and I can't even make something he likes for supper...'

HumphreyCobbler · 19/02/2014 08:48

I thought he hesitated when she told him what was on the menu, thus indicating he was planning to spoil it all

The Today programme is talking about the weather inserts in TA right now.

First critic says doesn't reflect RL.

Second says instructive. But that audiences are mostly interested in the emotion in a soap and TA didn't sufficiently reflect that.

Ho hum. Think they were floundering...

But Rob's tone did change when he heard Helen''s menu plan. Then he went back to sweetness as he said goodbye.

I thought that too, Humphrey. It's amazing how quickly he's started being actively EA.....pretty much the moment she moved in. Men like that must be able to detect the signs that someone's a likely candidate and immediately plan their strategy - it's horrifying.

We'll end up feeling sorry for the ghastly Hellin because of course no-one should be in that awful situation.....I still despise her, though, for her unspeakable behaviour to her family and general loathesomeness.

Report
Burma · 19/02/2014 09:15

But what is the end plan for men like that? Why does he want to control her so much? He gives me the utter creeps but is that only because we've heard what he was like with Jess behind closed doors? Would we know from the outside as it were?
