TA is in a purple patch at the moment, rewarding listeners for wading through the dross of the previous year few months. Welcome all!

So..

WHERE IS ROB??

Iwantacampervan · 14/02/2014 20:10

He's not here with me !

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/02/2014 20:11

I think Rob has gone off to meet the policeman's ex.

This leaves the nice-sounding policeman for Krusty (when she comes to her senses re SausageBoy).

CuttedUpPear · 14/02/2014 20:14

I love PC Burn's flash in the pan bromance with Jazzer.
Seeds have been sown for future mischief methinks.

CuttedUpPear · 14/02/2014 20:16

Yes Hellin's enthusiastic endorsement of her troo luv for Rob was fantastically cringeworthy.

Because that's what every spurned wife wants to hear. That the OW is taking her role seriously.

northender · 14/02/2014 20:18

Well my dd is only 9 but has declared herself a TA fan. She's set an alarm for 1855 each night as a reminderGrin .
Great episode tonight although explaining Robs bedhopping to dd was interesting!

BasketzatDawn · 14/02/2014 20:22

RobbiePantzDown may be an irresistible hunk, but Jess will have been dealing with his infidelities for years. And every woman has her breaking point. But she will need to stick around for a bit longer. No doubt her job status will be mentioned eventually. Of course she may just become THE social workerwho deals with little Henry's welfare (after all she is the only one in the county Wink) when DearHellin goes off the rails.

I wonder how far H's ability for self-analysis will go. Will she, initially at least, not tell anyone what is happening - cos she is so embarrassed? Will she blame everyone else but herself?

What's going on with Jazzer and PC Plot? I can't face the prospect of J being a crook. He isn't a bad lad really, just a bit of a chancer, no? Maybe he's just 'naturally' intimidated by cops. Due to background etc.

A good episode tonight. Rob presumably awol with yet another woman?

WhatSheSaid · 14/02/2014 20:24

I can't believe I missed it Shock. It's Saturday morning where I am and my in laws are here and they were taking all my attention.

I will have to listen to it later as I listen via an iPad app and it's not available until about 10 hours after the broadcast. GRRRR! So annoyed at myself. It sounds like a corker of an episode.

GypsyFloss · 14/02/2014 20:26

Absolutely CuttedUpPear Grin

So do we reckon the Rob has form for this then? I got a sense of weariness in Jess as if Helen is not the first other woman.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/02/2014 20:31

Just caught up with it (studiously avoiding this thread meanwhile) - oh yes! So... Rob will spin a yarn about Jess being in some dreadful emotional state following her father's death which was what lead to her leaving him even though he was trying to make a go of it for her sake despite his love for Helen, and he thought she was suicidal or summat so did go to see her for truly noble reasons but didn't want to worry Helen so invented Essex. Something like that?

Loved the comic relief of Jazzer pouncing on the spurned dinner and plonking himself down with the policeman.

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/02/2014 20:38

Am certain Rob is a serial shagger but will Jess tell Hellin and will Hellin believe her?

Soooo... who do we think is upduffed then? Jess? Hellin? Jess and Hellin? A N other?

ErrolTheDragon · 14/02/2014 20:41

I'm sure Jess will tell Helen ... who will probably take it as sour grapes. Seems too soon for the Great Romance to end in tears. Though if it does, doubtless P&T will welcome H&H back with open arms while T sets his face against Tom.

TemperamentalAroundCorvids · 14/02/2014 20:51

High maintenance Justine? (Hello SWs??)

BasketzatDawn · 14/02/2014 20:52

Yes, Rob is definitely serial shagger. His lying is too smooth for otherwise, and Jess sounds like she's been there before. Hellin will be swept along for a while longer, I think. Oh, it's so good I will listen to Omni on Sunday.

TallGiraffe · 15/02/2014 02:11

Jess sounded drunk though so unlikely to be pregnant - assuming that's what all the coffee and water references were about.

Cannot believe I'm off on holiday tomorrow, just as this kicks off!

WhatSheSaid · 15/02/2014 06:31

Helen will confront Rob and he'll use the "Of course I wasn't with her! She's just saying it to split us up, she's all bitter and twisted through losing wonderful me etc etc" line. Helen will believe him, for now...Love this storyline, it could run and run.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 15/02/2014 07:42

If Jess was drunk (and she did sound it), had she driven from Hampshire?

orangina · 15/02/2014 08:56

LOVED yesterday's episode. Listened to it again immediately after as a podcast and forced DH share the joy...... Can't bear that there is no update tonight (Saturday). And the SW have form for making Sunday evening's episode really dreary and not re-visiting the excitement until Monday....

(tears hair)

What with The Bridge ending and now this....... I think I may need to get just SLIGHTLY more of an actual life....

(listens to wind howl outside and settles down with another cup of tea...)

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 15/02/2014 09:06

It struck me that "drunk Jess" might be making a virtue out of necessity. Huge improvement on her previous appearances.....

PseudoBadger · 15/02/2014 09:41

Where is Rob? Who can trump a wife and a live in girlfriend? I can only conclude that Rob is thanking Peggy personally for the suit Wink

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 15/02/2014 09:45

He's a busy boy, isn't he?

  1. Jess - wronged wife, still desperately trying to salvage her marriage. Presumably she is still on the scene because she's been part of his life for 20 years plus and it feeds his ego that she still wants him in spite of his appalling behaviour.
  2. Helen - obsessed new woman, now resident and providing domestic services as well as sex. Handily accompanied by a child he can pretend is his own. She strokes another part of his ego because she thinks the sun shines out of his fundament and she is still happy to go along with everything he dictates.
  3. Other woman, for simple uncomplicated sex with no strings attached and no toddler getting in the way.

Where does he find the energy?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 15/02/2014 09:51

Helen's judgement about men has always been appalling.

  1. Greg - morose, bad-tempered, not over his failed marriage, not doing a good job on the parenting front. Eventually killed himself.
  1. Leon - oily, plausible philanderer who lied to Helen and let her believe they were in an exclusive relationship but behind her back he was coming on to Annette, who was scarcely out of school - in fact, it was much worse than that, as I would say he raped her. Then he behaved as if it had never happened. I think he dumped Helen when she started getting possessive, didn't he?
  1. Before that there was a man she pursued well beyond the point when it was clear he wasn't really interested - can't remember much more than that.
  1. And now Rob.

It's not a very good record for a 35yo, is it?

Minimammoth · 15/02/2014 10:01

I am up for the double pregnancy, Hellqueen and Jess both up the duff.

Eastpoint · 15/02/2014 10:59

I really like the idea that he is spending the evening thanking Peggy for the dinner jacket, that was inspired Pseudo.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 15/02/2014 11:24

Yeah, thanks..... Lovely image in my head now.Grin

Anyway - PC Plod is newly single, Ruth is domestically miserable and has his phone number. Fun!
