New thread for the beginning of the pheasant season.

This is a marvellous thread - new babies - Congratulations Badger - and old storylines. I might have to start listening to the Archers regularly just so I can be part of this thread. Although I think your summaries might be even better than the real thing - PMSL at 'ancestral cobbles'.

guineapiglet · 08/10/2013 11:43

Congratulations from over here as well, always lovely to have such happy newsThanks

Also looks like good news finally for Kathy, as many predicted, lets hope she gets the job at GG and that the Golf Club goes into administration under Martin's expert leadership.
Is tonight Darrell's last official night with Shula. It will be interesting to see if she turfs him out/he goes voluntarily etc.

choccyp1g · 08/10/2013 12:12

Congratulations PseudoBadger. Enjoy your little one, hopefully she will already be trained to sleep at the sound of Dum-te-Dum-te-Dum-te-Dum. Flowers

LilacBreastedRoller · 08/10/2013 13:11

Ahh, congrats Pseudo, gorgeous name Flowers!

I admire your dedication to this thread. I haven't posted on this one yet because I've had my hands full with 7wo prem EMCS DS, but I haven't missed a single episode. I think the theme tune is definitely going into his brain. I do wish TA were better, though. This whole palaver with Kathy and GG has spun out for weeks what should have been the work of 2 minutes reported off-stage action. It's as if the writers are contemptuous of the listeners and think we won't notice or mind if the programme is incredibly boring. Don't get me wrong, I don't want Ambridge shaken to its core, but it's got to be the right KIND of boring.

LilacBreastedRoller · 08/10/2013 13:15

Oh, and another thing. What was all that bollox about Poppy being a "surprise", because "I wasn't due for another week!". What mother of three or other Ambridge resident of sound mind and reasonable life experience thinks labour at 39 weeks is anything out of the ordinary?

ppeatfruit · 08/10/2013 15:43

Well it would've surprised me to have a LO at 39 weeks .2 of mine were 40 plus 2 weeks and our 3rd was 1 day late (i know dates don't mean anything though) Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/10/2013 18:58

So, do we think Joe/Eddie will take the GG offer - I think not! Eddie wants blood. Although I want to hear what David has to say - will he be the one who mentions that Joe was rather ummm drunk?

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/10/2013 19:00

I also really want Kathy to sue the golf club - she clearly needs the money - come on Pat, persuade her or mention to Brine what happened.

Where are Brine and Jennydarling?

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/10/2013 19:11

Keira is so advanced with her sticking!

Ha ha at Emma making it

ErrolTheDragon · 08/10/2013 19:14

Oh, and susan looking young for her age because of her good genes (by implication passed on to Emma and Keira) Grin

Somethingyesterday · 08/10/2013 19:16

Clarrie is sounding much more like herself now.

But oh, poor Susan! Her party is going to be a disaster...

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/10/2013 19:34

I missed the very beginning - did they mention how much joe had been offered?

TallGiraffe · 08/10/2013 19:52

Congratulations Pseudo, gorgeous name. Hope you are recovering well.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 08/10/2013 20:14

£1500, Mrs CB (I think)

MrsCampbellBlack · 09/10/2013 06:03

Oh that's not much is it?

R4 · 09/10/2013 08:54

Hit the nail right on the head.

ppeatfruit · 09/10/2013 09:32

YYYY Grin R4

CarolineKnappShappey · 09/10/2013 14:16

Congrats Badger!

I am getting more cross about how they are turning Emmur into such a bitch. She never used to be that bad.
And Will is such a tosspot

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 09/10/2013 14:45

No, she didn't, & I can't believe nobody is pulling her up on it now Hmm

Did I really hear her say something like Poppy's not George's sister, he already has a sister? (Wasn't listening properly)

BirdingWidow · 09/10/2013 15:14

Mostly a lurker, though rather enjoying Emmur's spite...

Just emerging from the shadows to congratulate Pseudo. Smile

Somethingyesterday · 09/10/2013 15:44

I think Emma said something like "George already has a sister..." (So Poppy was nothing to get excited about...)

Emma used to be rather lovely. Somewhat indecisive and directionless but at least vaguely worth fighting for. And worthy of the even lovelier Ed. I'm not sure if it's motherhood that's changed her or "just" SW wrongness. She's certainly had a lot to contend with but it will be ridiculous if they don't soon write some dissent against her constant misery into the script.

Thanks, Something Smile

Are they still living with Susan & Neil? The money thing (Will & Nic having so much) would eat away at you, I suppose, if you were a bit that way anyway.

ppeatfruit · 09/10/2013 16:19

'They' also seem to be turning Clarrie into a potato; she deffo was always on the side of right and fairness (even poor Joe was trying to stand up to shitpot Ed snr.)

Somethingyesterday · 09/10/2013 17:12

(Sorry about double post - though this time I'm certain it's the site.)

Yes, there was an odd moment yesterday when Clarrie should have said something brisk, and didn't. And then said it was up to Joe to decide how to proceed. As if......
