Hi there!

OP posts:
maxybrown · 07/02/2010 21:17

Ooh goody Diva, makes me feel better we are going to start going in the evening all together.

nicolamumof3 · 07/02/2010 21:19

thats nice maxy to all go together he'll have a good sleep after that!

All mine had lessons from about 6m Toms's good swimming and Tate has just started swimming unaided but under water..Tom was the same. Luka's very confident which is nice. esp as we will be on hols with pool right there i think Tate will be swimming quite well after the two weeks.

Divatheshopaholic · 07/02/2010 21:26

6m? we dont officially start till reach 4 year old here.

nicolamumof3 · 07/02/2010 21:29

really? they do mother and baby here from 6m they do classes 6-18m then 18m-36m and then age 3/4y Tate will be going to lessons by himself at Easter. Luka hasn't had lessons since his grometts op in Sept but think they now have spaces for him so may recommence!

maxybrown · 07/02/2010 21:36

I hate swimming with a passion, though I have a proper costume now so that makes me feel better. We always went as a family when we were younger, not lessons though. I was useless at lessons we had at school, always went under and she always shouted at me and shoved me with her stick, she was probably pushing me under I bet

I just want us to do something together and get him more used to the water, and yes a fabby sleep after

sal1309 · 08/02/2010 08:02

morning all

cheers for that guys nice to know they are ok i will order it later lol.

Im a bad mum too dd doesnt go swimming unless on holiday dh has been promising to take her for ages. She was going to start swimming lessons in march but too close to bubs being due so waiting for the next intake in may. They dont start lessons round here till they are 3.5 although i think there is some mum and baby swimming classes.

FlyMeToDunoon · 08/02/2010 11:02

I'm a bit sad as DD1 had to stop lessons as it was getting to difficult to get there without a car. She was good and enjoyed it. DD2 loves the water and can't go either.
BJCC has sold on a bin. Typically it is snowing today and someone just told me it is meant to get heavier than January.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 08/02/2010 11:20

Is it really snowing there dunoon? just rain here but cold.

maxybrown · 08/02/2010 11:25

We had bit of sleet but it's stopped now. Bloomin cold though.

My lovely Nipper has gone, aah!

nicolamumof3 · 08/02/2010 11:29

oh maxy

just saw weather heavy snow forecast weds onwards

right need to get luka from nursery now best find something for my feet. hate not being able to wear my uggs

pebbles79 · 08/02/2010 11:30

I feel really guilty about not taking my kids swimming but I just couldn't bring myself to show my body in a swimming costume

FlyMeToDunoon · 08/02/2010 11:35

Real snow but not lying here.
More problems trying to buy a washing machine. My card didn't work on the Comet one for some reason, maybe because I had already tried [and failed] to buy a washing machine the day before. So decided to wait until DP returned from his boys weekend and get him to pay. Great! And then the lady we were dealing with at Tesco Direct said her computer system had crashed and could we phone back. Am I never to get a washing machine?

OP posts:
Divatheshopaholic · 08/02/2010 11:36

hi all,
its kind of snowing here.
maxy, did you sell nipper?
pebbles, i know the feeling, i have seriously stretchy with built in waist tuck one from boots, even though i still feel like whale when i go paddling swimming

maxybrown · 08/02/2010 11:49

Oh Pebbles I am with you. I did get a proper one with proper bra though, not just a shelf, one with my size bra in. At least then my boobs are off my stomach and I don't look like one complete round ball, more like two seperate ones I guess

Yes sold Nipper on preloved, but love the baby jogger, so ok

I'm flagging a bit now, been awake since 4.......think it is the steroids, grrrr.

5inthebed · 08/02/2010 12:06

I hate showing my body in a swimming costume, but bit the bullet last year on holiday, and as I didn't send small children screaming, I have done it a few more times since . I bought one from BHS with a panel in that flattens my belly a bit.

I think I want a Micralite, anyone know of anywhere selling them cheap? Slim picking on Ebay etm.

I'm loaded with cold as well, not sleeping very well at all. And I have a massive spot on my forehead and cold sores on my lips. I look so attractive

pebbles79 · 08/02/2010 12:15

I'm not that fussed about my boobs and belly and the back of my thighs are quite badly stretchmarked through having babies and I have a fair bit of cellulite too - I've thought of wearing a costume with cycling shorts underneath but it might look ridiculous!! Even when I was slimmer my thighs have always been slightly bigger than the rest of me due to years of gymnastics training but at least they used to be muscly, lol!

nicolamumof3 · 08/02/2010 13:21

awww pebs please don't let it put you off. I am so much bigger then i used to be a good two/three sizes larger than i was when i met dh 5yrs ago. My worst bit is my belly i feel as i look about 4m pg all the time lol! i couldn't care less tho. I could do something about it but i love my food and too lazy i suppose I think as Terry is very laid back and always says i look nice not much of an incentive there. I guess i have kind of given up in a way. i'd sooner just get on with my life then stress about my size i know what to do to improve my body so can do it if i want!!

carrielou2007 · 08/02/2010 13:28

Afternoon.

Think I win in the look-bloody-terible-in-a-swimsuit at the moment . Dd pokes my tummy when I get out of the shower and says 'there used to be a baby in there but not it's just squishy' oops!! It's going down but way too slow for my liking, though there is the hint of a waistline on the way back . I look like a russian shotputter with my big pants and humungous bra.

On a better note, just bought a prammette in vertical with the black frame - yum!! Anyone want a polka one??!!

5inthebed · 08/02/2010 13:33

Haha Carrie, what are you like! I'd love a pramette for ds3 but think he is too uch of a chunk to push in one.

I want a pram for him where he doesn't have to be strapped in, only with the crotch bit, so would need a bumper bar on it. He hates being strapped in atm. Any ideas?

FlyMeToDunoon · 08/02/2010 13:35

carrie.
I haven't been brave enough to wear a swimming costume for years. I also got fed up after the babies because although the rest of my body was still a 10, my tummy was an uncontrollable blob and you can't get size 10 swimsuits with control panels. At least I coudn't find one.
Never mind blobs anyway, it's the hair removal involved that puts me off.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 08/02/2010 13:38

lol carrie you do loveyour prammettes don't you!!

5in wouldn't recommend for your little man i had pramette for luka when he was about 13m was a bugger to push. lovely and comfy for them tho! had lux footmuff on it too was so comfy for him.

FlyMeToDunoon · 08/02/2010 13:39

Yippee DP seems to have managed to buy a washing machine. Delivery Wednesday.

FlyMeToDunoon · 08/02/2010 13:41

Fab Dunoon

Nicola, no way am I buying a pramette. I bought one last year for him, August I think, and it was awful to push then!

Just want something where he has a bit of freedom. Maybe an Infinity?

nicolamumof3 · 08/02/2010 13:45

i don't believe in freedom 5in so i won't be much help they all go through this phase. Don't you remember all the prob i had with luka this time last year? wanting him rf etc because he hated pram. nightmare.

thats great dunoon! bet you can't wait, not long too! What did you get?
