Dunoon, can I have second dibs on the BJCC if Maxy doesn't want it

jennieflower · 29/01/2010 13:35

Hello Ladies.

I was wondering if you could help me find my perfect lightweight stroller.

DS is 16 months old.

I have a Bugaboo Cameleon and a Maclaren Spitfire. I love both of them and they do everything I want them to. The steering on my Spitfire has never been quite right (I just put it down to it not being as good as the bug and I'd get used to it) DP noticed at the weekend that one of the front wheels don't swivel properly, they're riveted on so it really needs to go back to Maclaren for repair.

I bought the spitfire from Boots.com so called Boots customer services, they said they don't carry out repairs but if I take it into any branch of Boots they'll give me a refund. I spoke to Maclaren directly and they'll repair if it I want to go down that route.

Really I should just get the Spitfire repaired but now I'm thinking I could get a nice shiny set of new wheels. I could buy a new Spitfire with the refund but is there anything else out there?

So I'll have £200 to spend on a lightweight stroller, it must be suitable for a boy, have raincovers and footmuff and of course be gorgeous! What do you think?

5inthebed · 29/01/2010 13:45

I'd say get Boots to refund and buy the same one. I had a Spitfire and loved it, although sold it on to buy a baby jogger city mini. My Spitfire didn't push funny, so maybe just a dud one?

nicolamumof3 · 29/01/2010 13:56

i'd get refund and buy a black xt!

BexieID · 29/01/2010 14:34

I quite like Morrisons, we shop there every week. We'd shop in Tesco to use my discount but the nearest big one is 11 miles away!

After Qwerty having brown/pink XLR for sale I now really want one, lol. Or a black XT but can spend no more than £100 as will only be used at my mums. Keep your eyes peeled girls!

BexieID · 29/01/2010 14:36

I'm stuck indoors. Tom was sick during the night and my brother (who is staying here this week) has gone out with my keys!

nicolamumof3 · 29/01/2010 15:23

Bexie it would be poss to get either for that amount! good luck for a bargain!

horsemadgal · 29/01/2010 16:38

Oh no Bexie, hope Tom feels better soon.

5inthebed · 29/01/2010 21:41

Hope Tom is feeling better soon Bexie.

I've been shopping tonight. Spent far toomuch on DS1 in Next. Only went in for a pair of jeans and a coat and ended up with 2 jeans, 3 tshirts, combats and a coat . The jeans are lovely though, and he doesn't get treat very often.

So annoyed though as was coming home, and it takes two buses from where we were. Waiting for the second bus, half 7 at night, and DS2 (the one with autism) decided he needed a wee. The public toilets were all out of order, so went into a well known restaurant and asked if we could use the toilet, at this point he is in tears as he couldn't understand why he had to wait to use it, an they said NO! Because it was company policy not to let people who werent buying food use the toilets. So he wet himself when we got outside and was hysterical. . He is going to have a very unsettled night now, he is really upset with himself. I've emailed their head office to complain. Never going to eat there again.

Sorry, rant over.

BexieID · 29/01/2010 21:58

5in, thats not nice for DS2. Name and shame the restaurant!

nicolamumof3 · 29/01/2010 22:09

FFS 5in my blood is boiling for him bastards. I just go straight to the toilets me. If its a young child they should understand that they can't wait. So sad for the little man. hugs to DS2

maxybrown · 29/01/2010 22:24

Oh my god! complain complain complain.....go the paper.....go on do it!! You might be able to buy a lot more from next then, cheeky bastards. I get so irate about things like this - I know what it is like to need a toilet and FFS at the end of the day it is just a toilet, who actually gives a damn who uses it eh? Oh god I am so angry for you too! Poor little mite.

Should have stayed inside and let him wee on their floor

maxybrown · 29/01/2010 22:25

go TO the papaer, sorry

maxybrown · 29/01/2010 22:30

oh still spelt a word wrong, good grief!!

Also, after Nicola and I's little convo abut sandals, i meant to say, my local £1 shop has these mini mode beach shoes in for well - a £1!! If anyone wants a pair, they are brand new with the original shop tags and had loads of sizes, had girls ones too. I got a pair for Ds, they are fab!

nicolamumof3 · 29/01/2010 22:35

horsemadgal · 30/01/2010 16:00

Where are you all?
Out having a life???

5inthebed · 30/01/2010 16:21

I'm here although I feel like running away. DS1 being so challenging lately. Are all 6 year old boys like teenagers?

I want an air tyred pram, not sure what. Thinking of selling my bjcm as well, but not sure what pram I want.

horsemadgal · 30/01/2010 16:41

5in, my DS1 is also 6. He is soooo cheeky and noisy and yes like a teenager.
He was my only for 5 years and he is def jealous of DS2, though he adores him too.
DH and I both try to do things with him alone but sometimes he's such hard work.
No advise but know how you feel.

BexieID · 30/01/2010 17:26

Erin has gunk all in one of her eyes which DP has said is 'cold in the eye'. She seems happy enough though. Tom made DP have a nap with him this afternoon, lol. In our bed.

5inthebed · 30/01/2010 19:17

Thanks HMG. DS1 is really stroppy sometimes, storms off and sits in huffs. Does my head in and winds me up even more.

Bexie, DS1+2 both had gunky eyes when they were babies. Bathing it in cooled chamomile tea works well to clear it up.

nicolamumof3 · 31/01/2010 09:23

Morning all! end of January already that went quick!!

Whats everyone up to today? My DH is working (theres a surprise!!) Tom's off to football with his dad for day so just going to try and catch up on housework and the humungous pile of ironing that is aobut to topple over on top of my dryer excing w/end eh?!!

lillypie · 31/01/2010 10:23

Morning all

Nicola my dp is working too,we don't even have one whole day a week together any more.During the week he works days and I work three nights, then I work Saturdays and he works Sundays.

We are trying to save money for our big holiday to Australia in March but now the bloody turbo has gone on the car and it's going to cost about £500

On the pram front I sold xt and bought bargain apples quest .I have a three wheeler and a double nipper up for sale (think the single is sold)and tomorrow I am swapping my mb terrain for a mb roller bug,so that's something to look forward too

carrielou how are you and your little ones? xx

BexieID · 31/01/2010 15:11
