We still have our tree up - I usually wait until epiphany to take it down - the kids will be sad when it comes down, but the front room will look massive.
Back to work tomorrow - bum

nicolamumof3 · 03/01/2010 20:54

im glad to get all the cards down xmas and bday looks so much tidier.

i can't wait for the kids to return to school/nursery counting down til weds!!

carrielou2007 · 03/01/2010 21:29

We took our tree down yesterday, nice to have everything tidy again.

Dd starts playgroup on tues - it's her third birthday. She is so excited and I'm wondering how I'm supposed to just leave her there . She will love it but I'll have to wear my waterproof mascara .

nicolamumof3 · 03/01/2010 21:35

has she had any trial sessions? we took the boys for an hour each before they started on the first day (with tate, strangely not luka) we were offered to stay but he just run in very confidently and never looked back so i went straight home!!

oh forgot to say we went to panto yesterday with my parents, step sister and her daughters who were over from spain. Oh my luka was an angel through 2.5hr performance. Amazing when they impress you like that isn't it?

carrielou2007 · 03/01/2010 22:05

We went a few weeks ago to hand in all the forms etc and she went straight in and sat down with all the other children whilst they were having a story. I could hardly speak to the woman in case I started crying . I think she will love it!! How can my baby be so grown up??

sweetkitty · 03/01/2010 22:22

Happy New Year pramaholics

Bexie - congratulations just looked you up and you had a wee girl [girl]

How is everyone else? Sorry not been posting just lurking a bit.

Pram wise, going to sell my Lunamix and stick with my battered old XT for a few months until I order the P&T Vibe probably, currently looking for new car that will fit 4 DC in as well.

nicolamumof3 · 04/01/2010 07:50

Morning all!

Carrielou wait til you see her next to bubs they look sooooo grown up then. i know its hard i feel v.emotional about my 'baby' tate starting school in September it can't be possible!!

Also in september funding increases for nursery places for over 3's means luka can go every morning (or afternoon) gym here i come!!

lillychristmaspuddingandpie · 04/01/2010 08:13

Good Morning everyone,it's my birthday today,I am very old

I was supposed to be going out for a romantic meal with DP last night but instead opted for collecting my granddaughter and taking the kids to the park and then for a long walk in the sunshine.(used double nipper,it's fab and the girls looked very cute and warm in their stripy buggysnuggles!)

We then went for a roast at a very child friendly restaurant with another playground outside,so everyone was tired and happy by the times we got home- lovely!!

sweetkitty · 04/01/2010 08:53

I have to register DD2 for school next week, I am still getting over the shock of DD1 going, cannot believe come August I will have 2 babies at school (and 2 babies at home come to that).

I will need to put DD3 who runs away and the baby in a pram quick for school runs which I use the car for mostly so need a quick fold/unfold one for the car that's why I am thinking Vibe I can fold it with doubles seat on then use adaptors to stick the car seat on and put DD3 in the back. I am so going to be the Mum with the huge car and all the kids aren't I?

carrielou2007 · 04/01/2010 09:07

Happy Birthday Lilypie!!

Dd gets her 3 hours a day at playgroup paid for after Easter is it going up again?? Struggling a bit here with schools for dd, have to work out how to ger her there when I'm working. She was going to private school (much to my teacher sister's disgust) for smaller class size but the arrival of her baby brother or sister has put a stop to that!!

For some reason last night I decided I need a bugaboo bee for the car so am going to start looking out for one then sell the pliko switch. I hated the bee when I had one but dd was about 16 months and being tall looked ridiculous in it especially RF. Everyone else loves them so I am going to too!!

sweetkitty · 04/01/2010 09:13

Sorry forgot to say Happy Birthday lilypie

lillychristmaspuddingandpie · 04/01/2010 09:13

Hi carrielou, any sign of that baby arriving today

The new bee is released in a couple of months
here

DD is off to preschool this afternoon, seeing as it's my birthday I may curl up on the sofa and catch up on some reading and eat chocolates.

carrielou2007 · 04/01/2010 09:29

That sounds like a plan Lilypie! I'm going to go into the final hurdle of nesting this week whilst dd goes to playgroup.

I'm just at the awful fed up of waiting about stage, nothing can help until splodge is ready I know I just want him/her out safe in my arms!!

nicolamumof3 · 04/01/2010 09:52

carrielou free nursery increases to 15hrs (from 12.5hr pw i think atm?)from sept works out to an extra session for us.

Carrie i know what you mean re.school when tom started it was the kick up the backside i needed and i stopped working in london. i reduced my income by 75pc i could do it as i was not paying £600pm nursery fees any more and i got tax credits got myself a little job as a receptionist 10-2.30 everyday was perfect!

maxybrown · 04/01/2010 10:07

I wish there was some sort of funding in place for under 3's I expect by the time anything like that comes in DS will be 3 anyway Then the funding doesn't mean anything to us anyway as he is going to school nursery anyway!!

nicolamumof3 · 04/01/2010 10:11

What does that mean then maxy? do you not pay for school nursery anyway? When does DS start?

Im so glad luka's at nursery don't think i could have coped otherwise. Tates been asking for a week now to go back he hates the holidays!! must have a boring mummy eh?

v.icy here this morning was supposed to be doing sorting out of boys clothes and ebay listing but got bored of that so going over to my friends in a bit!

carrielou2007 · 04/01/2010 10:14

I am really looking forward to it and dd is v excited. She's doing 4 afternoons then when I go back to work will do 5 mornings in september. I'd love to do 10-2.30 but my job doesn't work like that.

I shouldn't moan as if I didn't have a well paid job (paricularly for part time) I would not be able to pay my morgage etc. Will be a struggle with CM fees but only for a year then dd will be at school.

nicolamumof3 · 04/01/2010 10:17

I had to change jobs totally i was an underwriter in the City insuring big yachts and powerboats all over the world quite a change but i was so much happier being at the school gate. strange i never thought that would be the case was always very career orientated then one day i just snapped a month before Tom was due to start school just before xmas and handed my notice in and that was that!!

maxybrown · 04/01/2010 10:20

No school nursery is free anyway if it is an "attached to to the school nursery". He will be in foundation stage within the school then you see. It is very nice there though. I am still undecided what to do about it all tbh. He will be there in 12 months time, starts next Jan. Thing is if I say took him to the private nursery round the corner, I could choose to just send him say 3 sessions or something, but not sure if at school he will have to do all 5. Who knows!! He will get afternoons until the Sept then can change to morning, thankfully. I just think, that although he will love it, he will be shattered, going from nothing at all to 5 afternoons. We will see.

very icy here too. I have been cleaning all morning, oven and stuff, yuk! Must carry on before I lose all motivation.

sal1309 · 04/01/2010 10:20

morning all

well everything back to normal today as dh back to work. cant believe my dd also starts pre school properly tomorrow 5 mornings a week oh well at least i can relax a bit before bubs comes along

sweetkitty · 04/01/2010 10:23

carrielou - oh how exciting am so I have another 17 or so weeks to go, scan on Saturday to find out what we are having but bets are on a girl.

nicola - you sound like me, I used to work in the City (not for £££s or anything) but did a fair bit of travelling too, DD1 was about 4 months old when we just decided to move back to Scotland which meant that we got a bigger house for less mortgage and I could stay at home, never imagined I would have 4DC in 6 years though.

carrielou2007 · 04/01/2010 10:23

I feel just the same,I never ever thought I would have two children and whilst I want my children to grow up knowing that you get things by going to work to pay for them I'm finding the thought just too much. There's just no way though, if I rented I could get some help there if I took a lower paid part time job but obs with a morgage it's an asset so of course you don't get anything. Right, will stop moaning and go and whinge to the MW!!

Divatheshopaholic · 04/01/2010 10:38
