Need advice for a friend.

Has anyone had Bebecar streety, Loola up or Bebe confort Urban life? If so are are they heavy to push or get up kerbs when using two hands (only has 1 DC so only having to use one hand not a problem)

nicolamumof3wisemen · 30/12/2009 16:09

i had a bebe confort streety if thats what you mean nappy?

was lovely pushchair but yes same as loola heavy up kerbs couldn't do one handed so had to go!

so glad i checked my zia its not black at all but monochrome its the one they did with the white frame. yuck yuck yuck!! going back to littlewoods now..

nappyaddict · 30/12/2009 18:29

nicola What was it like 2 handed up kerbs?

nicolamumof3wisemen · 30/12/2009 20:17

i really can't remember tbh as whenever i used it i was holding tate i had it 13m ago so Tate was not quite 3yr. very much like loola thats all i can remember.

Maxy, you still needing pj's for DS? i have some wincyette/flannelette cream check ones from m&s thomas the tank you could have ffp if you are still in need? 18/24m quite generous.

evening ladies

not pushchair related but need advice

  1. which is the best sling to use?
  2. do you recommend the easy base for maxi cosi car seats?

Have now got baby head on lol

carrielou2007 · 30/12/2009 21:17

Evening all.

Really thought it was all kicking off only to have everything tail off again now - typical!

Sal I have both, maxi cosi IMHO the best and only sat I would consider, did not get base last time, have this time.

I've bought a sling (wilki something) just to keep bubs close so I can get on with things, dd hated being away from me so I struggled to get anything done in the first few weeks.

nicolamumof3wisemen · 30/12/2009 22:17

sal i don't know much about slings or in car bases as i don't drive im afraid

oooh carrielou may be a new year bubs then! you never know. Tom was 8 days late...then Tate was three days early!! oh and luka 6 days late lol!!

just ordered the next 'star' shorts, hoody and shirt. Star overload me thinks but i do love them!!!

OP posts:
5ringinginthenewyear · 30/12/2009 22:28

Sal, I had a Closer babycarrier, it was so comfy! And a few friends had the maxy cosy car base and thought it was great.

Nappy, both Joolz and Skate are bucket seats. Also, my friend has a streety and has loads of problems with chassis, and I thought it was quite low to push, even for me at 5'5

maxybrown · 30/12/2009 22:53

Evening, been at my folks for a meal was very nice. Now feeling shitty though and have swollen glands

Nicola am ok for Pj's now but do appreciate you thinking of me, thank you.

I like the star shirt too. Not sure about the hoody but that is mainly because I LOVE the one in the baby section damn them! Think I will just maybe get the girls Boden one and see what that is like in RL. You'll have to have a look and tell me what you think.

Nappy - the urban life will be much better. The older bebe conforts are fab, really bouncy, a million times better than the Loola

nicolamumof3wisemen · 30/12/2009 23:04

off to check out tops maxy

nicolamumof3wisemen · 30/12/2009 23:13

next newborn lovely things!

nice vests wish i'd ordered now..and sleepsuits grrr always forget they go up to 2-3yr.

maxy did you still want my next pale blue/white l/s bodysuits when luka is out of them?

can only see sale stuff on boden

OP posts:
maxybrown · 30/12/2009 23:20

Ooh not looked at vests on Next. Oh yes please Nicola as I reckon they'll fit him next year. He is very very comfortably ok at min in Next 18/24 vests

It is this here

nicolamumof3wisemen · 30/12/2009 23:24

thats gorgeous for ds, i'd buy it!

its funny i choose different styles for Tate and luka all that star stuff is for Tate luka is such a different build/personality that some clothes i don't even pass down! like tates skinny jeans! don't think chubby legs would look quite right in them.

OP posts:
maxybrown · 30/12/2009 23:28

ooh goody I will add that to my saving for list. need to wait for some codes to start doing the rounds!

I understand what you mean though, nice - you see them as individuals rather than having to be the same as they are brothers and close in age. But James is same build as Tate isn't he? I can't believe his Boden shorts still fit him from last year, get soo bored of the same things lol! Although the jersey baggies are ok ish so I imagine by summer he would be better in next size up.......or maybe I am just trying to convince myself

nicolamumof3wisemen · 30/12/2009 23:32

well i'll those 18/24 baggies on luka as you have first dibs on those back sweetie!

yes Tate is same build as James and getting taller he had some 3-4 jeans on about 3 weeks ago with chunky turn ups but this week no turn ups! luka is wearing all tates 2/3 trousers now and tate is in 3-4 but some of his 3-4 tops are getting small! they have both really grown. i ordered 4/5 in tops for tate from next.

We have big holiday to kefalonia first two weeks of june so im getting excited for summer clothes (for the boys not me of course!!) i like them dressed in their linen shorts and shirts for the evening v.cute!

OP posts:
maxybrown · 30/12/2009 23:36

Ah nice. Not sure what we will be doing re hols - I have never even been abroad!!

I am expecting james to grow soon as the Boden LS tops I bought him over 6 months ago still require turning up at the sleeves - how can that be??!! He has put weight on though so expecting him to go up and become skinnier again!

nappyaddict · 30/12/2009 23:59

In case anyone was interested I saw this pliko switch earlier

nappyaddict · 31/12/2009 00:09

Nicola

this and this is nice too don't you think?

lillychristmaspuddingandpie · 31/12/2009 08:20

Oh Nicola Kefelonia is lovely, not too touristy!
Chris took me there when I was for months pregnant with DD and it's one of the nicest holidays I've ever had.
Where are you staying?

nicolamumof3wisemen · 31/12/2009 09:09

yes we have been to kefalonia before it is lovely v.unspoilt my stepdad is paying for us all to stay in a real luxury villa for a fortnight how fab is that! so we only need spending money, its what he wanted to do for his 65th bday hopefully my brother is coming over from athens to stay for a few days too.

Yes nappy the girls boden is nicer than boys this year! TBH i think £26 for a boys hooded top is too much when i can get similar in next for a third of the price!! because i have to buy three of everything its just too much. Theres nothing i really lke boden this season the babys stuff is lovely tho!

OP posts:
horsemadgal · 31/12/2009 09:52

Happy Hogmanay everyone.
Can't believe how quickly this year has gone.

nappyaddict · 31/12/2009 10:57

Do you buy them all matching then? I would just get the biggest then pass it down later on Haven't seen anything like that in Next though, have you got a link?

carrielou2007 · 31/12/2009 11:34

Morning all.

I buy tons of stuff in the sales and we have an outlet village about 25 miles from us we go to a lot with Gap, Next clearance, Clarks etc and I get loads of Boots stuff when they are reduced. I buy the next size up and then squirel it away.

Then I forget things, like dd has a M and S fluffy pink dressing gown and I had already bought a pink fluffy one from Boots .

Just the odd kick from splodge today - grr!!

nicolamumof3wisemen · 31/12/2009 12:42

no nappy they don't all have matching!! but if i buy for one i like to buy for all so try and spend the same on each if that makes sense? i wouldn't dress one all out of boden and one out of peacocks you see!

if you look on spring summer next you can see i will link later just in and doing lunch for the hungry monkeys.

OP posts:
maxybrown · 31/12/2009 13:01

Oh dear I can just imagine Luka having to stay naked for a few years whilst he waits for Tom's clothes to fit him

I think Boden prices have really shot up too. I am fortunate that Ds will mostly fit in the baby bits, but not as nice as last years stuff anyway.
