Basl, could you put pics on a trail please? How much would you be wanting?

Morning all.

I'm really lucky, I found my fab CM who charges me 30 per day (8-6pm) and will take splodge for half the price which is brill as still taking two places. Nurseries are about 42 per day. Dd's playgroup she starts at soon is 12 per session and is a superb one. Very hard going on just one wage but after Easter dd's sessions will be paid for by funding.

I guess I'm also lucky in that when I bought this house I put down almost half on it (for mega saving like mad and some equity from flat) so only have a morgage for just under 90K or really would not be able to manage at all.

The thought of working with two in just over six months still fills me with dread but have no choice at all .

maxybrown · 27/11/2009 09:16

Nicola, sometimes YOU have to come first - are you listening to me? IF one of the boys leaves group early or arrives late then so be it. They will not suffer, they are well cared for now and again makes no difference. If their Mummy isn't well and feels like crap then they suffeer anyway, so you are not doing them any favours. Ring the doctors back and take what you can. Today, the boys have to fit in around you. It is bloody hard work being a SAHM and can get depressing, even when you are well, let alone when you feel like shite. TODAY THINK OF YOURSELF....PLEASE. In the long un it will benefit your boys too anyway. Now, ahve you got an appointment yet?

maxybrown · 27/11/2009 09:18

And sorry for all the typos!

carrielou2007 · 27/11/2009 09:22

Well said Maxy, I second that, one day won't hurt them Nicola not to go/finish early/start later get onto the GP's NOW

maxybrown · 27/11/2009 09:31

If I was nearer I would have them for the day for you. It is so hard when everyone is all over the country.

FlyMeToDunoon · 27/11/2009 09:32

I agree Nicola.
I will come over there and give you a hard stare!

nicolamumof3 · 27/11/2009 10:01

5inthebed · 27/11/2009 11:22

Hope the docs can help Nicola. I'm always on MSN if you want to talk. You know I don't mind

nappyaddict · 27/11/2009 12:28

anyone after a bargain off-roader

horsemadgal · 27/11/2009 14:37

Awww Nicola you poor thing. Being a mother is the hardest job, but yes think you have to come first for once, glad you got appointment.

FlyMeToDunoon · 27/11/2009 14:48

Hope your app goes well Nicola.
I am having a teeny lunch break in the middle of cleaning and re-organising DD1's room. It's a nightmare of rubbish, soft toys, sheets of paper, rubbish, clothes dirty and clothes clean, pens pencils, rubbish....I expect you have the picture by now. So as soon as the tea is drunk it's back to the grind.
DD3 is at dancing so I have eh....30 mins of peace before school run. Damn!

nappyaddict · 27/11/2009 15:02

Awww do you leave her there? DS goes to dancing but it's only for 45 minutes so I stay with him.

maxybrown · 27/11/2009 16:36

Ah I'm back and it is freezing, brrrr. Nicola, how did you get on?

Well.......our post office was shut today - there was uproar as they hadn't told anyone!! Oops!

nicolamumof3 · 27/11/2009 16:58

evening ladies.

well managed to get to docs in peace luka was alseep (in xlr ) had a good chat with the nurse. Then at the end she asked me if i was depressed (wonders if i look it, prob do atm?!) i said i was depressed about not feeling 100pc for months on end!!

Anyways im fine she checked everything sending me for blood tests to check for glandular fever, thyroid liver or kidney probs so everything covered. No appts tho for bloodtest til 17th Dec!! madness on the nhs.

oh and guess what i did wednesday only took the boys to completely the wrong hospital for their post op check up after their grometts. i really am loosing it.

FlyMeToDunoon · 27/11/2009 18:09

Well done Nicola. I hope you start to feel better soon. Although it is frustrating to not have a concrete cause for general malaise.

Well DD1's room is looking fantastic. How long do we give it hmmmm?

DD3 does stay at dancing by herself. It lasts an hour and she seems to be really enjoying it.Hopefully finances will allow her to carry on next year.

nicolamumof3 · 27/11/2009 19:01

oh thats nice dunoon, i bet she does love it!! My little ones want to go dancing with their big brother!

right xmas shopping tonight online. oh the joys!! But how much easier than actually going into town eh? i need free del code tho for hawkins bazaar...anyone?

janx · 27/11/2009 19:37

Evening
Nicola well done for getting to the doctors - our doctors does all the blood tests in the surgery...they really should be doing that. - I am really lucky to have a good doctors after years of a rubbish one. Are you having an iron one aswell?...you could be anaemic?

dunoon - your dds room sounds like mine...was it you that gave me that little plug in nightlight(sorry rubbish memory)..ds loves it.

Going to get Luka's birthday pressie tomorrow - can't believe it is next weekend. Off to get lots of train stuff me thinks as he is getting a scooter for Christmas

nicolamumof3 · 27/11/2009 19:40

we are getting tate one of those mini micro scooters for bday on 28th dec. we thought of getting luka one too but i don't want to encourage him out of pushchair!!!

yes they are doing blood test for iron too. they will have to take a few pints by the sounds of it to test for evertyhing lol.

I was thinking today that DS' don't pay at all with their wooden track anymore. But i will keep it maybe they'll get into it again. They seem so busy these days at nursery they don't get much time to actually play with stuff at home we're always doing something, sounds bad doesn't it?

maxybrown · 27/11/2009 19:50

DS loved the trains but not really bothered about the track, but he loves his road mat.

Hey wonder if Basl is about.....sure her Nipper was arriving today?

I keep getting emotional at everything at the min, not in a depressed way, you know things on the telly and stuff, urgh!

janx · 27/11/2009 19:53

Ds loves his trains and tracks - he may not say much, but boy he builds a good track

maxybrown · 27/11/2009 19:57

Hehe hehe. DS is loving the little tikes road and rail at the min, he loves putting that togther. I got it this time last year on ebay for about £3 and the very nice lady dropped it off for me

nicolamumof3 · 27/11/2009 19:59

luka would rather destroy track that tate has made. little angel.

i haven't a clue what to get him for his main present.

i have bought a secondhand ELC goosefeather farm (happyland) but feel bad given him secondhand toy as main present, or should i?

maxybrown · 27/11/2009 20:01

All DS's presents are secondhand this year but then, he doesn't know and will be chuffed to bits.

5inthebed · 27/11/2009 20:04

Glad you've manage to get yourself to the docs Nicola. I should really book myself in for a (whispers) smear. SO near christmas as well

I'll be doing online Christmas shopping tomorrow Nicola. Was going to buy DS1 an air hockey table from JL, it's £78, but saw one at Toys R Us an its half price £50, so going to get that instead. He will love it! I want to get DS2 a TV/DVD combi because he is dvd mad. Don't want to get one of the flat creen ones, fancy an old style one for him, harder to break

4 weeks today ladies!
