Thanks Nicola.

Thing is he doesn't have any baby talk at all (but my friend's LO was same) he doesn't have beginning of words to attempt a word iykwim?? I am not unduly worried, I think just getting myself wound up about going tomorrow!! Silly I know.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 08/11/2009 19:00

no its not silly at all, i don't blame you we all worry, he makes sounds tho? does he 'chat' to his toys or sing or anything? What does he do if he wants something? say ask for a drink or a carry?

see your wanted for a nipper are you def selling fix wheel then?

maxybrown · 08/11/2009 19:08

Oh he babbles - or whatever you want to call it all of the time! Yes he will la la la la la a random song, will join in songs/actions etc.

If he wants a drink he'll usually get his cup out of the cupboard and I go through the whole ritual of helping him to ask etc. he will get his coat, pat himself, pat me if he wants me to come...he also makes lots of oh oh and ooooh!! aaaaaarrrrgh (falling off something) sounds...lots of things like that!

Yes - I think so to Nipper! I have someone who will have mine from me you see. Hmmm.

nicolamumof3 · 08/11/2009 19:16

oh yes go for it then, i love mine wouldn't be without it for winter you can't beat it, mines be muddied up every day since thursday couldn't imagine getting the mac like that! its so easy to clean the fabrics and everything i love it, get black tho! my camel one i loved but not so easy to hide the marks!!

just forgot to bid on a lovely bright blue nipper footmuff too grrr! went for a fiver too.

im still debating whether to sell the xt and getting a cheaper quest...

as for ds he is communicating with you then, luka does quite a bit of signing and copies alot of actions from programmes.

5inthebed · 08/11/2009 19:26

Maxy, I giggle at the aaaaargh . DS1 never spokeuntil he was 2, and then within a month, he was saying full sentences. He would just say "uh" for everything. DS2 never spoke, never even made noises, but he has autism and is a whole different kettle of fish. Your DS sounds completely normal, interacts with you and plays with toys etc. Really, try not to worry .

I quite fancy an air tyred three wheeler. There was one at the toy library on Friday, and I was going to google it, but can't remember the name now, typical! Had to move it out the way to get my pram, and it was so light to push! Had the same spring suspension at the back like a nipper, but the front wheel looked like an UD. Had an adjustable handle as well. Wish I'd te it down now.

maxybrown · 08/11/2009 19:59

Thanks 5in, yes he interacts very very well and some of the things he knows....well, I take no credit for it!! I have no idea where he gets it from! He knows where there is writing in a book, can point to colours and some numbers etc, very imaginitive, just doesn't speak grrrrrr.

OP posts:
maxybrown · 08/11/2009 20:01

I wonder what that 3 wheeler was then?

Nicola, just to change the subject, have your boys ever had winter coats from next?

OP posts:
5inthebed · 08/11/2009 20:14

I've had a few winter coats for the DS's for winter, love them!

ScattyKatty · 08/11/2009 20:25

What do you all think of this?

DS needs a new coat and DH said he'll get him this but I can't decide between the brown and the blue....

5inthebed · 08/11/2009 20:30

I prefer the blue one, but then I prefer little ones dressed in bright colours rather than dark ones.

Have you managed to sort the fin thing out yet SK?

ScattyKatty · 08/11/2009 20:37

Nope! She wants me to pay to return it I just don't see why I should pay

maxybrown · 08/11/2009 20:40

I looked at those SK but wasn't impressed with the reviews tbh. Don't like the open cuff. Prefer the Gap down coats really. I hate looking for coats. Need something that's not too bulky for the pushchair.

OP posts:
maxybrown · 08/11/2009 20:42

It's annoying Sk but even if you did a PP claim, they would still expect you to pay return postage.

OP posts:
ScattyKatty · 08/11/2009 20:44

Oh no Well I really can't decide the colour so by the time I do they will probs be sold out anyway!

nicolamumof3 · 08/11/2009 20:56

Maxy i love next coats and the boys normally have one every winter, they normally have at least 2 coats each to allow for wash/wear.

Tate has a lovely bright orange puffa style one from last year and then a smarter camel duffle which is minimode i think actually.

Luka has Tates old red duffle from next which is rather lovely peachskin finish with removable liner

boden one..not impressed really for the money, does nothing for me, i agree that the gap down are much nicer. i like bright coats too, seem to be harder to find this year. even duffer ones on debenhams are boring. i like orange, bright green and yellow. Luka also has couple of snowsuits.

SK surely a pp dispute wouldn't make you return postage? open a dispute if you haven't already?

ScattyKatty · 08/11/2009 20:58

I have opened a dispute Nicola. I hope they say she has to refund me cos it's not fair to say something is unisex when it isn't and then make the buyer pay to return it recorded surely!!!!!!

nicolamumof3 · 08/11/2009 21:02

no i agree that is not right

maxybrown · 08/11/2009 21:02

a pp dispute WOULD ask to return postage unfortunately.

Thanks for coat advice. He has Gap duffle which is lovely but not ideal for pushchair. I like bright coats too, but am edging towards something brown

OP posts:
ScattyKatty · 08/11/2009 21:04

I've heard paypal do make you though, even when the seller has clearly lied Then it is up to the seller if they refund you for P&P both ways.

nicolamumof3 · 08/11/2009 21:06

really, god i hate ebay when it goes wrong its not right is it??

anyways, i know what you mean about pushchair coat, they don't need something too thick on i suppose with footmuffs. so they are comfier, mine haven't had their big coats on yet this year, but think they will next week, certainly colder today. can't believe haven't bought any of my boys new coats this year...they obviously haven't grown!!

ScattyKatty · 08/11/2009 21:11

Right so Maxy you'd say go for the brown one.....

FlyMeToDunoon · 08/11/2009 21:14

Hello all.
DD3 is wearing DD2's purple coat from H&M from last year.
DD2 is wearing DD1's coat from 5 years ago! A navy duffle type from Gymboree with a purple quilted lining and pink flowers around each toggle on the front. Mmmmmm.
DD1 is the only one with a new coat and that is a black wool coat from Next.

Just wated to join in the coat conversation.

nicolamumof3 · 08/11/2009 21:17

no gap instead SK

ScattyKatty · 08/11/2009 21:19

wow that is nice! But DH has some crdit with Boden from ages ago and he'll only let me use that, not actual money

maxybrown · 08/11/2009 21:31

If I had to pick, then I would say brown SK, personally but i do like the blue

The gap coats are fab I have to say. Need to get some more funds together and try and get to Gap this week. DS is def growing, think he needs more new shoes - aaaarrrrggghhh! i can't keep up!!
