Hello and welcome!

OP posts:
maxybrown · 06/10/2009 09:33

I couldn't cope with that SK.

I'm no nonsense I am and that's partly why I hate going, I can't be doing with all this oh my DC can do this this this and this...etc etc.

For me, those kind of people will never be a "friend" and wouldn't want to waste my time on them.

scattykatty · 06/10/2009 09:39

I do feel sick everytime I take him anywhere, thinking will they be judging him as he's wearing an M&S top! I can't relax which is horrible.

nicolamumof3 · 06/10/2009 09:45

Not like that at all here. I get 'told off' by nursery sometimes for dressing the boys too nicely (i.e boden, NAS etc) but they are there clothes that they wear everyday. i don't do 'best' or 'playwear' they just put on whatever we feel like that day. Most things wash out tbh. i haven't had anything ruined yet!

Luka cried again going into nursery he hates being left but i know he's fine once we've gone popped into town and now home to wrap up parcels and sort ebay couriers out. and catch up with stuff i can't do when luka's here screaming his head off!

claret1980 · 06/10/2009 09:46

Morning all!

It is chucking it down here. I was going to toddlers today but as its too wet we will have to make do with toys at home until it clears. We have good groups to go to here so ds1 & 2 can enjoy time with other kids.

BexieID · 06/10/2009 10:13

We're only just up . I got up at 6 to goto loo and couldn't get back to sleep straightaway as bubs was having another party in there. Tom just must have been really tired.

nicolamumof3 · 06/10/2009 10:19

nice bexie!

scattykatty · 06/10/2009 10:29

Lucky you! DS's penguin hat and mitts just arrived from Boden... look very small That's the thing with out of stock, you order 2 months ago when they fit but by the time they get here they are too small!

DH's birthday today but he's away at work which is sad. He just emailed me to say he felt bad that it was so cold here so he ordered DS this and this So he'll be all warm and nice

Gonna need them too as it's getting colder by the second here!

nicolamumof3 · 06/10/2009 10:33

scattykatty · 06/10/2009 10:38

I did say I really liked that quilt so at least he listened! DS really needs one so I hope JL are quick with delivery. Got Samsung man coming soon and then a playdaye for DS so I hope and I can get him to wear the penguin hat

FlyMeToDunoon · 06/10/2009 12:30

Hello.
I hate going to groups too. Used to take DD2 to toddlers and that was great when DD3 came along as big sister was kept busy playing and I could just sit.
When DD2 went to nursery I gave it up.
I can't afford lots of groups either.

nicolamumof3 · 06/10/2009 12:37

how's dd2 today dunoon?

just got my nice new leather footstool! im so easy pleased

maxybrown · 06/10/2009 12:38

It all makes me feel much better to hear these things

I am roasting here, very mild after just stepping outside!! Looked cold but isn't actually! off for bread, if I can scrape the copper together - DH forgot to leave me his wallet, grrrrr

FlyMeToDunoon · 06/10/2009 12:45

DD2 has been packed off to school, much to grandma's disapproval- but she has been full of beans since about an hour after the op!
Her hearing seems to be better already. She says things are loud.
She has antibiotics because the surgeon said there was a fair bit of inflamation in the ear.

sal1309 · 06/10/2009 12:56

morning all

groups here are lovely we are all on the same wave length and most of the wifes that come are all non officer wifes so there is no looking down noses ect which is good. (all though not all the officers wives are like that lol)

nicolamumof3 · 06/10/2009 13:07

Thats good dunoon, we got our follow up through for the boys wasn't til end of Jan which i thought was ridiculous..nearly 4m after the op so i called and got one for end of next month instead. particularly as luka only had one side done.

scattykatty · 06/10/2009 13:11

Hahaha Sal good save, no we're not all like that!

The worst wife here is the wife of a Major General and my Goodness does she let everyone know she thinks she's better than us!

TBH there are only a couple of non officer wifes in the whole place, and people stare like they are another species! Not nice.

maxybrown · 06/10/2009 13:38

that's good Dunoon.

When will Luka have other side done Nicola?

I am thinking of asking for a hearing test just in case. I haven't really got any worries but at least it will be one more thing ruled out.

nicolamumof3 · 06/10/2009 13:45

they didn't say Maxy, we should find out at the follow up, i guess they will check the ear etc and go from there. its strange that they said he had ear infection as he had none of his normal symptons, they gave us 10days supply of antibiotics but i never gave him it all, seemed alot to me.

maxybrown · 06/10/2009 13:53

Gosh it is so warm here! It's been raining but really warm wind. We went to shop to get bread and I thought I was going to pass out in the shops!!! Maybe it is just me

BexieID · 06/10/2009 14:28

Anyone tried one of these?

One of Toms keyworkers leaves this week so I got her a wee orchid and a card from him. Think she was quite touched by it. It's the same lady he queued up to give a cuddle to the other week! Awww

Tiredmumofdjandbabies · 06/10/2009 14:30

thanks for the tops nic

nicolamumof3 · 06/10/2009 14:31

no its really warm maxy, i've just got t-shirt on rare for me! i had to take coseytoes off luka as he was hot even with no jacket on (been using it instead of r/c!)

just put my maclaren seat covers back on after wash and maclaren footmuff, i don't really like it tbh but i like to have matching!

sal1309 · 06/10/2009 15:11

lol sk that makes me laugh as we over heard a couple of the officers wives talking a while ago and they said (about us) oh we shall not talk to them as they are from the lephurs (sorry cant spell lol) side of camp, which makes me laugh as i dont care what rank people are. My hubby was going to go for his commision but i persuaded him out of it as i couldnt cope with the politics lol although he still thinks about it, may be one day

FlyMeToDunoon · 06/10/2009 19:05

DP and grandma putting DDs to bed and I am soooooooooo bored. There is Nothing on the boards which even remotely interests me and CSI Miami isn't on till 9.
Gah!

OP posts:
scattykatty · 06/10/2009 19:39

When I was in Germany there were only 4 officers wives in the Sqn and we got picked on by the soldiers wives really badly They would never let us come to their parties, always gossiped about us, and ignored us whenever they could. They said we would tell our husbands bad things about theirs As if we would!

So here it's all officers wives and they just group into rank too! That or the Marines against the world group... odd!
