The Mobi can only be used rear facing i think??? I wanted the option to turn around sometimes...On long journeys i forward face her as it's easier to set the DVD player up...I use a mirror so i can see her and it's a nightmare getting it in the correct place so daren't move it to put the DVD player in it's place though i guess i could just swap headrests...I'll see how easy the Britax TWE is to get into the car...If it's a faff it might be easier to leave it alone...Though i use the mirror even if i'm sitting in the passenger seat...was looking on Maxi Cosi USA today and they have a combination seat that rear faces 4-40lb before it can be forward facing up to 70lb...Why don't we get that option over here??? It's so annoying!!!

Yea the mobi is only rear facing. That seat looks great, it's annoying that there's so little on the Market here. Xmas Sad

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 10/12/2011 21:55

i have never needed to look at car seats beyond the first stage, as the 7 seater car we own, some of the seats have a 5 point harness built into the seat and the botom part boosters up, so no worrying if the car seat is fitted properly and the older ones are now in high backed boosters with the seat belt, dd4 is travel sick so the sooner she was heavy enough and big enough to come out of the baby seat the better really.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 10/12/2011 22:01

I love cars which think about children and have built in seats and boosters.

I am on about my 80th Christmas card tonight...and am debating writing a quick newsletter to go inside. But I am now surrounded by a heap of cards and envelopes Xmas Confused which need putting together. I haven't done this very logically. It's not easy to do with wriggly DS sat on my knee....

What car do you have Prams??? Sounds very interesting.

saoirse86 · 10/12/2011 22:17

Prams what age/weight do you put them in the seat with the harness then? And does it have added side impact protection too?

Twinkle 80 cards?! I don't think I know that many people! Xmas Blush Xmas Grin

PresentsRibbonsAndMerrySantas · 10/12/2011 22:18

ford galaxy, they are an extra option when you buy it.

suzie38 · 10/12/2011 22:25

Oh right...Not that we'll ever need a car that big!!! Plus i really like DD rear facing though she was forward facing tonight so she could watch Peppa Pig on the way back...Worked out well as we drove around a nearby estate to look at the Christmas lights...I don't know that many people either...I'm still using up cards i bought on sale years ago.

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 10/12/2011 22:26

We printed 100....

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 10/12/2011 22:28

And I put all cards, and then all envelopes into alphabetical order, but DS promptly kicked the envelopes off so I had to sort them all over again!

dp has just said he does not think they do them anymore on the newer models, our car is an older one, but they are the second stage car seat, so with out hunting out the instructions, thats 9kg i think, she was a lot older and bigger then this though, dd went into it when she got too big and heavy for first stage, this is them [below] although ours has a head suport on it as well. all our dc's [all but dd1] have gone from baby seat to this, they are great and very easy to keep clean, and like i said you know they are safe, as they are part of the main seat.

suzie - I really wouldn't use the TWE as a booster unless it was an emergency. It doesn't work in the same way as a dedicated high back booster (just a strap with a clip to adjust the shoulder strap from their neck).

PRAMS - integral child car seats get a big slating in the states as there is no side impact protection and they haven't got height adjustable harnesses so will only fit a child for a short time (either they are too high or too low for most of the time the child is within the weight range). They also still expire when the belts get weakened with age (car seat belts should be replaced every 10 years I think). They are useful if you occasionally need to transport children on no notice. It does look like the ones you linked to have adjustable harnesses so that is one thing they do better than US ones.

If you were to choose would you go for powder blue or lime?www.babyjungle.nl/easy-walker-classic-p-16201.html

suzie38 · 11/12/2011 15:49

Lime green because it'll be easier to sell on, as it's a gender neutral color...Plus i like lime green anyway.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 11/12/2011 16:38

I thought lime green too....but I asked ds who said blue....wish I hadnt asked his opinion now. Lol!
Ive also noticed tiggy is selling her quatro....i dont know much about the quatro but it looks gorgeous!

suzie38 · 11/12/2011 16:56

I think they look great as well but i don't need one!!!

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 11/12/2011 19:14

That house looks really nice. Whats his objection?
My husband didnt like the house we live in now. Said it needed too much work. I eventually persuaded him to put an offer in...it was a v low offer. Thankfully it was accepted. The location is the best thing. Though housing in our area is expensive.

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 11/12/2011 19:19

My husband does like our house now. We've done a little work to it. Replacing outside draughty doors. But it's in need of decorating. We'll do that when the kids are a little older. We're handy for several schools, though I chose the one out of our catchment area in the end, hence the miles, of walking.

TruthSweet · 11/12/2011 19:44

Has anyone seen this before?

If you scroll down to the bottom there is a picture showing the pram in travel system mode - very ingenious idea!

TwinkleWunkleChristmasStar · 11/12/2011 20:13

OMG Truth! That is now on my shopping list. 63 cms wide is the same as the Duet. It looks good, has seats that face both ways, large basket, I love the car seat option, smallish fold, adjustable handle, takes up to 25kgs (I assume per seat) and has a two year warranty. I wonder how narrow the seats are but that's one to find out....they don't look too bad Hmm

OP posts:
TruthSweet · 11/12/2011 20:20

I think they have fudged the measurements slightly as if you scroll down the pictures there are some of the chassis where it's labelled as 82cm.

I wish it was 63cm as then I would twist DH's arm (or another parts of his anatomy) to get a parent facing pushchair that narrow that would take DD2.

aswellasyou · 11/12/2011 20:27

It's 83cm wide, not 63. I was really excited by it until I saw the width. Xmas Sad The carseat method is funny and sensible. Xmas Grin Back to longing for a Stroll-Air for me.

aswellasyou · 11/12/2011 20:30

Yes, 82cm, sorry. It's strange that it gains 5cm in width when it's folded though. I can't see how that works by looking at the fold. I think they need to remeasure and update the listings.
