Hmm I can't wait to show you these off road photos....looking at the pictures of DD in the seats there is one clear winner re seat size, comfort etc. Its very obvious which one she looks comfy in (although I must add in RL she looks comfy in them all but I am thinking of DS for long term beyond her age). I will get these live tonight and then have a look and see if you think the same! My only issue is that the pushchair is very back heavy and the front wheel takes off as you push....with either child in....

Tiggywunkle · 17/11/2011 01:53

Here are the photos right at the end. What do you think??

Tiggywunkle · 17/11/2011 01:56

Just to add as I said earlier the Bumbleride actually has the deepest seat. I think given that the Qtro seat is wide and the Bumbleride is the deepest seat that the correct foot rest position makes a real difference. I can see that too on my Peach and B-Agile photos.

misdee · 17/11/2011 06:52

steven stayed asleep on tuesday when we go home from the school run in the bottom seat. it was not tippy at all.

pramsgalore · 17/11/2011 09:49

tiggy, if the pushchair is already back heavy, you really don't want it for ds when older, my ds can tip a pushchair back that is already back heavy quite easily, he has ended up on the floor with tipped pushchair Sad and he is small for his age

pramsgalore · 17/11/2011 09:54

in the pics, dd looks the most comfy in the elite, but i suspect this is only because the seat is a bit more up right, the qtro does look like it has more room and it has 4 wheels which is always better for stabilty, is the qtro back heavy.

thisisyesterday · 17/11/2011 09:56

oooh am loving the Qtro from those pics!!!

is it heavy?

Tiggywunkle · 17/11/2011 11:17

I have only really given three a good run - the Babyzen, Elite, and Qtro but I did make a point of whizzing DD around our gravel etc to see how the Indie compares.
Out of them all the Elite is the most back heavy. Bearing in mind I do lean a bit on handlebars, the Elite front wheel was off the ground most of the time with DS but less so with DD (Prams would it really get more tippy? I hoped that because it was more stable with DD in that it would improve with more weight?). The Qtro made more contact with the ground but hubby said often the wheels weren't turning! The Babyzen is solid ie all three wheels make contact at all times. The Indie felt more solid too but i need to try it on a smooth surface.
The issues I see are with the Elite, it is very heavy - much heavier than I expected to be honest (bearing in mind the double Elite is here). The front end is light. The basket has poor access - the double has much better access. But DD looks great in it - very comfy with room to grow. The fold is dreamy too as are being able to pop the wheels off easily.
The Qtro feels heavy to lift but weight wise it's the seconfpd lightest. The seat is very wide - both children look dwarfed but the back is relatively low so would it last DS (Tiggy says probably knowing we will have several other pushchairs by the time he s 3!)? But push ability wise the Qtro is very manoeuvrable - in fact DH thinks it could be an issue as he thinks (we need to try it) that the Qtro may be so light that it will drift on a slope and I may end up pulling it back into line.
The Babyzen - I am a huge fan but DD has pretty much outgrown it. DH says (he does more single runs that I do) that she puts her feet on the light which a) covers it an b) he thinks she will scratch it. But the freestanding flat fold is the reason it gets used most days because it sits flat by the front door so s the natural pushchair to open. It's just neat! It sat nicely on top of the car boot the other day.
The Indie - it has a very deep seat which I thought would make it a winner re comfort. The footrest is a tad shorter than the Elite but I think the angles aren't right. The leg rest is quite sloped with a flat footrest which isn't very wide. But the fabrics, chassis etc all look really smart. I think the Indie is second best...It's certainly very light to push and manoeuvre. I don't like the fold - it's the same as the Valco and Twinner Twist, but not as fluid.
I spent ages looking at all four side by side last night and still wasn't any wiser.
The Elite really has the best seat / footrest position and size and if I didn't lean on the handle then the wheel would stay in contact. I may borrow an older child to try it out. Maybe the search needs to go on? I wonder what a TFK Joggster Twist would be like, or even your Jane Slalom. I thought it would be easy to choose but nothing is quite right...

pramsgalore · 17/11/2011 12:44

the bjcm coming out [with the removeable seat, can not recall the name, begins with an r] anyway according to babygizmo the seat is going to be bigger than a select, would that make it really big!!!!!!

suzie38 · 17/11/2011 12:45

Versa

pramsgalore · 17/11/2011 12:47

thats it, my brain is not working today and it don't even start with an r Blush

misdee · 17/11/2011 12:53

i need a single for the bus. doesnt have to be an umbrella fold. but suitable from newborn through to toddler.

suzie38 · 17/11/2011 13:18

Well it's gor a R in the name and it is short for reverse which does start with R so all is forgiven Wink

DH has taken the purple Nuna on it's maiden voyage, so hope he doesn't make it too muddy, like he did with the Cameleon!!!

pramsgalore · 17/11/2011 13:33

Envy i do like your purple nuna Smile
vista is arriving in a few hours [the slot they have given me is school pick up time Hmm but dp is off today so all good and he knows this one is arriving Grin]

Tiggywunkle · 17/11/2011 14:03

I hope you like the Vista. The box is enormous because of having the carrycot in - although having said that the Mima boxes are pretty big!!
I think the Versa sounds fab. However I honestly think we are in for a long wait for it here - I bet we don't see it much before next autumn - although I hope we do! I can't wait to see it in March.

misdee · 17/11/2011 14:31

Tomorrows challenage for the bdual has been set. This week we hve been ill so just been doing school run and local shop. Tomorrow if we feel better we are going into town and doing a bit of xmas shoppin. I have high hopes for the basket.

Tiggywunkle · 17/11/2011 14:49

It's amazing how much you can tuck in and under the lower seat. The side openings are really handy for pushing things through!
I am debating what to do this afternoon....it's a lovely sunny day here.

suzie38 · 17/11/2011 15:23

I've finally listed the beloved Donkey!!! Someone seems quite interested in my Cameleon, so fingers crossed Smile

FriggsFlyingFalconFeathers · 17/11/2011 15:27

oh my god i want that donkey SOOO much

Tiggywunkle · 17/11/2011 17:20

Dont....I am sitting on my hands too.........................................

Tiggywunkle · 17/11/2011 17:24

Ooohhhh its lovely.....arrrghhh!!

aswellasyou · 17/11/2011 17:45

Sunny?! Shock It's cold and grey here. So cold in fact that I had to sit on my hands, wearing my coat in 5 hours of lectures because apparently the university doesn't like heating. Hmm

suzie38 · 17/11/2011 17:59

Been sunny here as well...Hope you've warmed up now Brew

suzie38 · 17/11/2011 18:06

10 watchers already!!!

pramsgalore · 17/11/2011 18:16

well, its arrived and been out on two trips, one school run and a trip to the shops and sainsburys, well what can i say,
OMG its brill, it pushes so much nicer than the cam, it handles all the cambers round here and bumpy paths, its a dream to push, the basket is huge and fitted 3 bags of shopping with room to spare Shock it bumped down the steps brill, the seat is huge, love the hood, the handle height is not a problem at all [phew] its really comfy to push, i LOVE IT Grin its not as bouncy as the xari but still takes the bumps well i thought. it will be my work horse and my xari is my 'for best' long walks etc, when storage is not needed Grin the cam is on its way out of the door, i may even part with the orbit
love it love it love it, thanks for recommending the vista everyone, it is great Thanks
