Okaaaaay, new thread, new addictions, newly hammered bank accounts abound.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 11/10/2011 15:13

Yay re being home from hospital for DD3s birthday :)
Lol re you two bidding against each other!!! Great minds eh??!
Which Bumbleride are you selling? I think it's a Flite?
Grr re P&Ts. I can't believe you never heard from them re the Swift :(

thisisyesterday · 11/10/2011 16:51

haha no probs, i was doing my usual "pushchair" search within a 25 mile radius under £50 to see if i could grab a bargain. saw it and thought it might do for my friend who is expecting as i figured if she didn't want it i could easily sell it on again

so i feel a bit mean for pushing the price up for you as we were the only 2 bidders lol

hope the OP went ok and you are being looked after well at home

thisisyesterday · 11/10/2011 20:31

truthsweet tell me more about the bumbleride. would i like it?

TruthSweet · 11/10/2011 20:34

Thanks for the good wishes from every one (and the flowers Monkeys). I just read back my earlier message and boy can you tell I'd had a load of morphine! I'm just grateful I didn't buy anything else on ebay!!

Not to worry TIY - DH thought it was funny and asked how I found out it was you. He PHSL when he found out we had been talking about it on MN Grin

MonkeysPunk · 11/10/2011 20:45

Just had message about superlite classic, its delayed up to 4 weeks. I'm still getting it though. I expect 4 weeks will fly by!

TruthSweet · 11/10/2011 20:51

Well the lady I sold it too on FB is putting it back on as she got given another pushchair so keep a look out for it.

It was pretty shit though! If you had it in reverse mode you couldn't steer it you had to swing it from side to side in a gliding motion. I also kicked the wheels a lot and we're about the same height so I guess you would too.

suzie38 · 11/10/2011 21:05

The current version is far superior because all wheels swivel so you lock the ones nearest to your feet...Truths version is like the Graco Flip It which i could push with rear wheel steering as i'd done that with the Frog quite a bit.

TruthSweet · 11/10/2011 21:15

I'd love the current version as it would steer the same either way. The old version is a breast to steer - loved the basket though!

Seat was really small - DD3 (who's a midget - well not really but she is short) is already got too tall for the seat back. A bit weird as she is only 10.5kg and it goes to 20kg so it must be for very short and heavy children.

thisisyesterday · 11/10/2011 21:37

ahhh ok, i won't buy it then :-P

mememummy · 11/10/2011 21:46

hiya, I have been lurking Blush

I have DD1 who is nearly 4 and am 18 weeks pregnant with dc2

obaby xi sport

I really want a BJC versa ASAP lol but i know its not out yet, sooooo
how do i go about getting from america?

pramsgalore · 11/10/2011 21:59

i have only ever bought through ebay from america so was very easy, what have you got your eye on then? Smile

mememummy · 11/10/2011 23:52

Oh ya no lol a versa xx

Tiggywunkle · 12/10/2011 01:02

I don't think the Versa is out in the US yet...I would think Spring time at the earliest, probably more like summer. The models of the Versa that have been shown were apparently still very much prototypes. I was supposed to speak to Baby Jogger yesterday but it didn't happen. I have my ear to the ground though :)
Prams, have you seen the original Kiwi P&T on EBay. It's on a BIN and although it's not pretty I bet it would be fun to try out!! I think it was around £80 without looking it back up and losing this message!

TruthSweet · 12/10/2011 07:00

Anyone seen this pram before?

Very futuristic looking and the basket is HUGE.

TruthSweet · 12/10/2011 07:02

Better pictures here

suzie38 · 12/10/2011 08:04

Very interesting to look at but it doesn't appear to come with a raincover and that hood's not going to be much use in heavy rain.

suzie38 · 12/10/2011 08:04

PS...DD would love it as it's purple!!!

TruthSweet · 12/10/2011 09:10

It is probably the most useless hood since the Mothercare Urbanite (or what ever it was called). It's more of a nod to the convention that prams have hoods rather than an actual hood.

And I've just seen it's 16.8kg!! That's a heavy pram.

The chassis is very nice looking, it's a shame about the pushchair unit...

TruthSweet · 12/10/2011 09:18

The Kiddicouture 3 wheeler I was looking at the other day is on Chipolino's Bulgarian website <a class="break-all" href="http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=bg&u=eshop.chipolino.com/&ei=d0uVTuKjPJP48QOv5JWwCw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CDEQ7gEwAQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dchipolino%26hl%3Den%26prmd%3Dimvns" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here.

I get the feeling most prams are made in giant factories somewhere and then pram companies just go and choose which ones they like and stick their name on it rather than designing their own. Bit disappointing.

pramsgalore · 12/10/2011 09:35

tiggy, that was the first p&t i ever saw, i nearly walked onto someone when i saw it, laughed at it and then about a year later had a p&t myself Blush, when i first had a p&t, it was rare to see another and got loads of comments, i remember confussing someone as they could here a baby crying but could see no baby and i would be accused of putting dd2 in the shopping basket all the time, now they are everywhere

pramsgalore · 12/10/2011 11:00

it looks bigger than the other models, bigger front seat, higher hood, bigger second seat and a better foot rest more like a mountain buggy one, and a little head cushion on the second seat, hmm i quite like it

Tiggywunkle · 12/10/2011 13:13

Those are interesting websites. The pushchairs aren't that different in a lot of ways. I am loving the Chipolina pushchair although the hood is useless, no raincover is a pain, but I love the basket and the styling. I wonder how plasticy it would be in real life? It is heavy though!

Tiggywunkle · 12/10/2011 13:15

The pushchair doesn't appear to lie flat though? 3 recline positions but I would guess it's suitable from birth as a travel system?
