This is as imaginative as I get!Wink
Frigg, my Mum works for the City Council doing disability adaptations to resident's houses. She goes to assessments with an OT, decides on adaptations needed, designs them, draws up plans, applies for planning permission and oversees the work. She's been in the same job since she was 18 so she's learnt a lot about all sorts of dsabilities along the way.

Watch out with that Wine or she'll start [wunking]

I hate it when you miss out by a small amount...Some people use a program to outbid at the last minute...I'm having a good night on eBay as i've got at least 7 clothing items being sold...Just need the darn Go to go.

aswellasyou · 07/08/2011 21:59

I've been looking up the different ABC models. The 2010 version has spring release wheels but I've found no mention about any other years either way.
I'm reluctantly looking at the B Dual too. Does it have quick release wheels? We could go to Mothercare and try it in the boot. I don't want it though-I want something everyone else doesn't have!Sad Saoirse's been moaning about the Contours and even suggested we get a Graco Quattro or something equally ugly.Hmm

I briefly had a B Smart and those wheels came off easily so guessing the B Duals are identical.

FriggFRIGG · 07/08/2011 22:15

YY the wheels come off easily.

Honeydragon · 07/08/2011 22:24

Frigg why not just take out your two favourite singles

FriggFRIGG · 08/08/2011 00:15

i reeeeeeeelly want a +one.....Now.

come on then,where IS it???

Tiggywunkle · 08/08/2011 01:24

LOLOL at Honey's contraption!!

If you want a B-Dual or a Quattro Tour Duo I have one of each on Ebay - virtually brand new B-Dual and the Quattro was on for £50 and was unsold tonight but haven't had chance to put it back on. But I would talk you out of the Quattro because a) its one of the heaviest tandems I have pushed...it is just marginally better than the Ergo and thats only because it actually had some steering. It's also a chunk of a thing when folded and I could barely lift it.
The B-Dual however is a very very good pushchair until your children get to about 2 when they don't seem to sit properly in the seat. But both seats have a good recline, there is a good shopping basket, its really easy to push one handed, it folds with both seats on, great hoods, comfy seats, bags of room between the seats blah, blah, blah.....I can't really fault it other than the seating position for older children and its also large when folded. But it is a wide pushchair - and also its not just removing the wheels but you would need to remove the huge wheelguards too (or leave them off but I would never recommend not using safety features even though I was highly tempted).
Why....don't you both look at the Hauck Duett...its narrower than the B-Dual. It's almost impossible to get a newborn and toddler on, but once babies get over 6 months its great. The only criticism I have really is that the ride is a bit hard - the B-Dual has much better suspension. But you may find it suits you. The fold is once again large though....
I still think you should both sell everything and buy a BJCS...because you will both be happy for another year!!

Tiggy, is your rumble seat here yet? I can't wait to find out what you think of the Vista, and how it compares to some of the other pushchairs you've tried. I'm particularly keen to find out if it is as similar to the B dual as it looks in photos.
Also if you could do a Vista / cameleon comparison that would be fab, as the two run head to head in the usa.

MonkeysPunk · 08/08/2011 09:13

I was thinking about the MB +1 today, and its problem of not being ideally suited to babies 6-12m, I wondered if babies of this age could be sat in the soft carrycot with a cushion behind, with a clippasafe type harness. Just like babies in the old coachbuilt prams. I know there wouldnt be much view, but I expect a few toys could be attached for their amusement.

suzie38 · 08/08/2011 09:21

DD had a cushion for ages in her Silver Cross pram...I could only use the pram until she was 8 weeks old as after that, she screamed lying flat unless i took her out specifically for a sleep...She sat at 17 weeks so i used it with a cushion when she was 5 months old and stable enough to sit with cushion, in a bouncy pram.

Tiggywunkle · 08/08/2011 10:36

No sign of the Vista seat monkeys I too am intrigued by it being B-Dual like. My B-Dual is currently on EBay and am now wondering if I should hold it back until the Vista seat arrives. But apart from looks I don't think they are that similar. Functionality wise the B-Dual offers much much more ie two seats suitable from birth, two car seat, two softcot, one hard carrycot options - so choices. I think it will be a try and sell it on largely because I am worried about a 15kg weight limit and I don't want baby in the rumble seat. I don't have a Chameleon to photograph the Vista with - but I can certainly do a written comparison of the two. Re the +one I think a cushion would work certainly at six months but it's more once you have a moving baby that still sleeps that is an issue like my twelve month old. I won't know till I try, as I keep being told, but my belief is the seats even with the inch or so front recline are too upright for sleeping. Most pushchairs are slightly reclined enough for a child to sleep even a Zapp. I do have an idea though but until I can try then I have no idea how it will work.

Tiggywunkle · 08/08/2011 10:52

What is the plan now Frigg??

aswellasyou · 08/08/2011 10:59

Your B Dual isn't purple is it? Except, I'm sure it'll be too much because I could only afford up to £200. Even then, I'll have to sell the Contours asap. We honestly couldn't afford a Select at all, even second hand. We wouldn't want to have to sell most of our singles to get it. It won't be used much between October and June when I'm away so it's not worth spending loads on anyway.
I wouldn't let us get a Quattro, so I'm glad to hear it's rubbish!Wink Saoirse's wondering why I sold the Powertwin but I want something the babies can face each other in, or at least have one face the pusher, that they can both be properly reclined in, not have the front baby kicked, and folds small enough for our Mum's boot.
